"Erm, Aubergine is Ravenclaw and Celeste is Slyther..." he trailed off when the girl turned to him and asked the question, his blood chilling at the words and the look of distaste he read on her features that had been so kind before.
He'd only been there a matter of hours and already someone had pinned him for what he was. Feeling a little sick, he realized that everyone probably knew the moment he'd walked into the school. Perhaps there was something Celeste hadn't told him. Perhaps magic folk could just sense it; he wondered if Muggles smelled horrible to magic folk or if it was some minute detail that was different, something he'd never noticed. The shape of his ears or the way his hair was always so straggly. Maybe that marked him as a muggle.
Either way, he'd been found out and now Celeste would never speak to him again. His ears hot and red, he quietly closed his book, swallowing thickly. "No, I'm not." He lied, not knowing what else to do, pulling away from her and sliding off the chair. He forced a smile onto his lips that didn't quite reach his eyes, something he'd learned to force easily after years of living with the stern pure blood family that expected him to always be grateful. "Thank you both for keeping me company. I think I can fall asleep now...I'm tired. It was lovely to meet you both." He nodded to them and turned, carrying the oversized book in both arms tight to his chest as he shuffled quickly away from their questions into the darkness of the tunnel that led back to his room, only letting tears fill his eyes when he was safely hidden back in the enormous bed, the blankets pulled up over his little muggle head.
