His hands squeezed harder and harder against his temples, hoping any second they would explode and he wouldn't have to sit through this awful class. Defense Against the Dark Arts, although one of his best classes, was torture to the poor sixteen year-old. His true passion was his final class of the day, transfiguration, and how he prayed it would come quickly. Blue eyes peered towards the front of the classroom, where the teacher was giving an awful lecture on the difference between a horse and a centaur. 'Their half man and half horse, what more is there to it,' Gabriel mumbled as his partner gave a small "shh" in reply. He couldn't take a class like this, one of two Slytherin's, what was there to do? If he tried to prank someone he'd have the whole room in arms.
His hand doodled a small picture of the Slytherin crest on the corner of his page. Truthfully Mr. Prudence wasn't drawn down from a line of Slytherins, he wasn't even a pure-blood, but people that didn't know him expected it by the way he acted. Gabriel was born from two wizards: his mother, a very successful Auror, of who is from a long line of Griffindors, and his father, a small man in the ministry coming from a muggle family, he went through Hogwarts in Hufflepuff. Things were strange in his house hold, considering he had a pair of angelical parents with a devil-like child. The poor boy was given Lucifer as a middle name from birth. The strangest of names: Gabriel, a very powerful archangel, and Lucifer, an even more powerful archangel that fell from heaven due to pride.
Pride, probably the single best word to describe Gabriel. It didn't matter his stature in the wizarding world, he could easily pull of the top with just his slick talk and brains. Not to mention not many people wanted to be in the room when Gabriel believed he was being disrespected. Normally events like that would cause a large crowd, great confusion, and normally a couple people sent to the health wing.
As the teacher turned his back, Gabriel's eyes drew to the black leather watch on his wrist. He barely made it through five minutes. Quietly he grouped together his things and stood just barely from the chair. His desk partner gave him a warning look but Gabriel just waved it away as he headed outside towards freedom.
