Elvira's feet felt a little stiff, not surprising since today had consisted of walking around the castle from one end to the other, from the murky dungeons right up to each spirally tower, the steps winding their way up in numerous circles was very disorientating after a while. She sat, cross legged in a deep set window ledge looking out. The day was drawing to a close and from here she had discovered the most amazing view of the sun drifting lazily over the great lake, normally it's surface dark and calm, the deep orange colour of the setting sun bounced over the ripples giving the impression the whole surface was on fire.
She brought her knees up to her chest and her long skirt lifted half way up her calves revealing a pair of very heavy boots that didn't exactly fit with the rest of her delicate lacy attire. Her pale face rested gently on the pane of glass cooling her pleasantly and her dark eyes studied the grounds in all their glory. She thought she may even take a stroll later on tonight, she was sure Hogwarts was a completely different place after dark.
Elvira was somewhat of a loner, she didn't really like nor trust many people, there was no reason for this, she had just always preferred her own company, she supposed it was because she was an only child, not to mention that way there was always an intelligent conversation. This attitude naturally didn't get her many friends. Although she never had many to begin with because it was well known in her country that her whole family were dark wizards, and she was no different, just a little less vocal about it.
She expected that when she was sorted (into slytherin she was confident she would get) then perhaps she could meet others like herself, unless of course all the traits she'd heared about the houses were all a myth.
Keeping one eye on the sunset she drew from her bag a tiny leather bound book and a very fine quill, if you could call it a quill, it was more of a long thin nib with a tuft of feather on the end. She began to sketch, as it progressed it was obvious the drawing was of a female, it looked to be a very good likeness..if you knew the person that was.
