Some Free Time (Open)

[Ezekiel Gage]

Zeke growled. "It's the Dark Hand... they're here." he said. He looked at Mikayla. "Ok, so I'm sure you remember the little love triangle you were involved in pre-Kite, with Kayla? Ok, everyone knows about that who paid attention, but anyways, Kite and Kayla were out here repairing an old friendship when Kite had gotten viciously attacked by the Grindylows. Do not ask me why, other than they wanted Kite away from the castle. Now, Kayla is not affiliated with these bastards, but there had to be something going on to cause Kite to leave the grounds so far. He may have been searching for this." he held up a shard of the Orb. "Damn fools... they must have disilliusioned it before Kite got there. The point is, they will come after him now.

((Note, this occurs before they meet the parents...))

Now, tell me, is there anything outside of these grounds you and Kite have to attend to? Family parties or whatnot? Because I would advise against it... the Dark Hand wants Kite's blood because..."
He paused. He knew Mikayla didn't know the whole truth. Or rather, Kite didn't and wasn't entirely sure of what to tell Mikayla.
"I'm telling you this in good faith. Just being near him- even being near me- puts you in grave danger." he sighed. "Kite doesn't quite know it for sure, but he has information that could bring the entire Dark Hand to their knees." he looked at Mikayla, a serious look in his eyes. "This secret- something even I don't know, and having been affiliated with these guys for so long- is worth killing for."
He closed his eyes. Kite may not remember it. "Damn me.. damn me for wiping his memory when it could kill him after all..." he looked back out towards the lake. "Listen, you, Syrus, Kayla... all of Kite's friends could be in danger. He needs to remember that crucial information or else..." he looked down. "We're all just waiting for our time to run out."

Mikayla was entirely interested and worried about what was going on with Zeke and Kite…that is until Zeke revealed a particular piece of information that Kite had conveniently forgotten to mention to her. [green] Wait…wait…wait…Kite was out here with KAYLA? Swimming in the lake? At night? And he didn’t tell me? [/green] Everything else that was being talked about: the grindylow attack, the danger…all gone from her mindset. She was now so mad that she couldn’t quite stand up. [green] I need to sit down…[/green] She said, distracted. She slowly sat down on the grass, but the decided to lay down so she could clear her head. Letting the warm rays of the sun warm her, she began to realized that what she had been discussing with Zeke was a lot more important than her rivalry with Kayla, but the subject would be discussed with Kite when she got home. She was just worried that Kayla might be trying to steal Kite from her, just like she had done with Liam.

She sighed, shaking the thoughts out of her head for now. [green]All we have to do is go to the US and meet my parents. It shouldn’t be too much of a big deal right? [/green] She wasn’t sure if they should go anymore if there was some adamant danger waiting for them. It was something for her to think about.

[green] So what your saying is, this Dark thingy, is after Kite because of something that he doesn’t remember. But I thought most if not all of his memories had returned. [/green] She was trying to wrap her head around this. Obviously, the two of them were in danger, as was she. [green] Is there any way that I could help him to remember this one bit of information? I was mostly the reason why his memory in the first place right? There has to be some way I can just jog his memory enough to get him to remember this right? [/green] She was thinking very hard about this, but she hoped Zeke had an answer for her.

Zeke shook his head. "See, that's the thing. I don't know HOW he remembers it. It may have actually been placed in his memory with Legillimency, because it's not his memory." Zeke sighed a little. "See, all in all, only a powerful, smart Wizard could pull out this information. It's just... complicated..." Zeke had froze. He couldn't believe his eyes.
He saw a man walking into the front doors of Hogwarts. The man was Asian, long hair, and tall. Zeke recognized this guy because this is the same guy that he's been fighting to avoid the entire time.

"Uh..." Zeke said, as he grew pale. Don't look this way, don't LOOK THIS WAY...

The man walked inside the doors without stealing a single glance at the two.
Zeke plopped down, clenching his teeth. "Things just went from bad to worse..." he whispered, looking ahead.
He was the only one who knew this man's identity. He was the only one who could point this guy out. And now he was here, where everyone he wanted to protect was at. This man was fearsome, and if he could infiltrate Hogwarts, he was planning something big.
He buried his face into his hands, his heart pounding from fear. He could face boggarts, of course, but the real thing? No, no, no, no he couldn't.
"Mikayla... let's go inside for now." Zeke said. "I'll... tell you as soon as I can regain my composure what just happened."

Mikayla was semi deep in thought. She had taken Legillimency lessons last term, but she was rubbish at them; much better at Occulemency. There was no way she would be the one who would get into Kite’s mind to retrieve the memory, it had to be someone who was very skilled in the art, but no one immediately popped into her mind. She noticed Zeke had become very stiff and pale, almost as if he had seen a ghost. She turned to look at what he was looking at, as she was the very curious type like that, and saw a man walking into Hogwarts. It was a bit odd to see someone entering Hogwarts during the summer, but they were hiring many new teachers so who knows why people were there.

She was very confused as to why Zeke had reacted the way he did. The man looked like any normal man, he didn’t have any distinguishing features that would make her worry. Mikayla followed Zeke inside so that he could calm down and tell her what was going on, as she really needed to know.

Zeke had walked in, making sure the man was nowhere to be found, then he spun around, took Mikayla's hands and said "Swear to me you nor Kite will go near that man!"
He took a breath, and started. "That man is... my father. He is the leader of the Dark Hand." he looked around, motioning for Mikayla to follow him. As he walked, he coughed and said "He's obviously here to tie a few loose ends. Those loose ends being me and Kite." he leaned against the wall near the Headmaster's office. "She'd never believe me." he said quietly. "I mean, it's my word versus his." he clenched his fists. How could he contend with the one who started this whole mess?
Zeke looked at Mikayla. "I hate to say it, but you being a Professor could be Kite's saving grace... you can keep an eye on him, and make sure he doesn't start anything... suspicious." he closed his eyes, cursing himself for not putting a knife in the man's chest sooner.

Zeke looked more worried that Mikayla had ever seen him. He took her hands and made him swear that she nor Kite would ever go near that man. [green] I swear. I swear. But whats so wrong with him? [/green] She asked, and he explained. [green] So, lemme get this straight? Your father is the leader of the Dark Hand…so wouldn’t that make you…and interim member or something? [/green] She looked at Zeke suspiciously but the fear in his eyes told her that her guess was wrong. He obviously wanted nothing to do with this man, as he appeared dangerous.

[green] From the looks of his attire…he seems to be here to apply for one of the open professor positions. That would make it a lot easier to keep an eye on this person, and make sure neither of you sign up for his class. [/green] She hoped he decided to teach something that wasn’t required for either of their auror training. Otherwise, things could get messy.
