Mikayla blushed yet again at Kite's comments. She was starting to think something was wrong with her with all the blushing she was doing, but Kite was just so sweet. She had never met a guy like him before; one that treated her so perfectly and made her feel so special.

She giggled at his Winnie the Pooh comment. [green]That reminds me of the movie with the fat panda.[/green] She hoped he knew what she was talking about as the name of the movie escaped her. [green]Yeah, lets get this adventure started. But I'm pretty sure you wont need to knockout any giants at this time of day. Although if you pee your pants I can just push you in the lake so no one notices. [/green] She took his hand and lead him into the forest, not far, probably about 40 feet in. She lead him to a very large tree in a small clearing. [green]I wanted to show you my tree. This is where I come to think and if for some reason you cant find me, I'm usually here.[/green] She smiled, and climbed up to a semi high branch with ease, patting the spot next to her. She had never shown someone her special thinking spot before and it made her happy that she could actually trust Kite enough to show it to him.

Although she had only met Kite just today, she was surprised how much she trusted him. This was more than just the physical attraction that Mikayla was used to, it was something more. She actually felt ready to let him into her roller coaster of a life, if he wanted to be in it. She tried to think of anyone she had felt these feelings for in the past but all she drew were blanks. This was special.

He climbed up next to her, settling in on the branch, and looked out towards the other trees. Birds sang and frogs chirped in the early afternoon air. He smiled a small smile and took her hand. "I see why you like it up here." he said softly. He looked at his feet for a moment and let the silence speak for him. He was speechless due to the fact that he had fallen this quickly for someone. He would later put a 'friend' in a full body bind for accusing her of giving him (somehow) a love potion.

Kite yawned a bit and leaned against the trunk of the tree, inviting Mikayla to sit closer and lean on him. He honestly wouldn't complain if they were to stay here forever, and he had a sneaking suspicion what she felt the same way. So he asked her "Am I the only one that doesn't want this moment to end?" a dreamy look in his eyes.

Mikayla smiled and scooted over towards Kite, leaning her head on his shoulder. [green]No. I wouldn’t mind if we could just stay here forever. Just you and me; no one around to judge us. [/green] She knew that once they got back inside the castle, everyone would be judging them. It wasn’t “normal” for a Slytherin and a Gryffindor to be involved with each other. It went against everything they had ever learned while being at Hogwarts. They would get a lot of conflict if they actually decided to “be together” but that was something that would be discussed later.

She shook the negative thoughts out of her head and kissed him on the cheek. [green] Anything else you’d like to do while we’re in the forest? We could keep walking or try to find a unicorn or something. [/green] She was just firing off ideas. Mikayla was up for doing anything Kite wanted to do, but as she said before, she wouldn’t mind if her and Kite could just stay isolated in that tree forever.

He smiled at the possibilities of adventure with Mikayla, especially the Unicorn one. But he closed his eyes and looked at her. "Whatever keeps me close to you. You've made me feel more alive than ever before..." He held her, his arm around her as he looked down. He noticed immediately that this area looked vaguely familiar... almost too familiar.

He closed his eyes as a cold feeling swept over him, in which any part of Kite's skin that Mikayla would touch, he would also become physically cold. This would mark the second time this has happened.

He saw flashes of light, then the hulking form of the Hippogriff standing over him, a shocked and ashamed expression on it's once proud face. Yes... it's name was Giridorn.. he then remembered looking up at the kid he saved, a boy... the fool...

He then remembered a hooded man at the edge of the forest, holding what looked to be a wand pointed at his chest. A single word was uttered, and he knew no more.

Kite awoke with a start. This happened in less than a second, so all Mikayla would feel is the cold, then Kite jump. Kite's heart pounded furiously, as beads of sweat trickled from his brow. An absolutely terrified look lined his face as he tried to remember the person in the cloak. He remembered. He remembered.

But he couldn't remember the face.

"D-dammit..." he stuttered. He was embarrassed, and wasn't sure how Mikayla would react. He felt mildly sick, and leaned back against the tree, taking a deep breath.

He knew she would be worried and perplexed, but he would wait until he regained his composure to tell her what had happened.

Like he knew before, there was more to this memory thing... he just hoped it was the Hippogriff and the healing like he was told.

Just when everything seemed so completely perfect, Mikayla sensed something was wrong. All of a sudden, every part of skin that was touching Kite felt like it had just touched something ice cold but as soon as it came, it was gone. Then all of a sudden, he jumped up slightly. Concerned, she wrapped her arms around him in an attempted to steady him. Mikayla had no idea what was going on, but as they were very high up in the tree, she didn’t want him to fall out.

She wondered what could have happened to him to make him freak out like this. It was like he had seen a ghost but, more so. He looked as if he had been scared out of his wits. She continued to hug him tight, stroking his hair lightly. [green] What happened? [/green] She whispered to him. [green] Its ok, whatever it is, just tell me what’s wrong. I’m here for you. [/green] She kissed him on the cheek, genuinely concerned for Kite. She cared about him so much and would do anything to help him out.

He took another breath, trying to calm himself down, then explained what he remembered. He told her in the best detail, save for the face of the one that he was sure- absolutely sure- was the one who erased his memory.
"The last thing she said to me before saying some weird spell -it wasn't obliviate- was... 'You got lucky, Mudblood... that's all.'"
Now, Mudblood really didn't affect him like it would others. It'd be like calling Slytherins the various names Gryffindors came up with. He just wasn't like that.

He closed his eyes and shook off the resonating fear that gripped him. Who could strike such fear into him just from a memory? It was unlikely to be a student, or even a professor, because the fear wasn't because of the memory itself. It was because of who it was. He shared this with Mikayla, knowing that the more he spoke about it, the longer he could hold onto it when the time came to find out the mystery that surrounded his past.

He then remembered something else, this time from a couple of months ago. The last time he had a spell like this was when he was at the Gamekeeper's hut. It began to connect. "Mikayla. I think I know how to remember what happened to me." He sighed, his color back to normal, and his heart rate slowed to a normal pace. "Just have to retrace my steps... then, I'll finally know who would do such a thing." He then realized something. "I was hospitalized... how did I get here...?" he looked around for a moment, then shrugged. "Ok then..."

He looked back at Mikayla. "I want you to know... no matter what has happened in the past, before we met... it won't affect the fact that I've fallen for you. Mikayla..." he took her hand. "Will you be mine?"
It seemed the memories he regained seemed to boost his confidence, both in himself and in his friend. He prayed that she would say yes (or at least think about it).

Mikayla listened intently to Kite as he recalled everything he remembered. [green] I don’t know if you’d be ok with this, but I’d like to help you retrace your steps and figure out who did this to you .[/green] She smiled but she wasn’t sure how he was going to feel about this. This had nothing to do with her and he might not want her to be too involved.

The next thing he said caught her entirely by surprise. She smiled brightly, blushing slightly. [green] Yes Kite, I would love to! [/green] She was ecstatic that he had asked her to be his, however; something he had said resonated in her mind. Mud Blood? She thought. He couldn’t possibly be a Mud Blood, not if I like him this much. What would her family say?

Her family, as with most noble Pure Blood families, were so obsessed with blood purity and how much power your family name carries with it, as most wizarding families knew of the Menki’s. Mikayla had grown up with that being normal and she felt the same way; at least, she used to feel that way. It didn’t seem to bother her that Kite wasn’t Pure Blood. And with that thought, she smiled, giving him a kiss to solidify their new relationship.

He smiled broadly as she kissed him and pulled her close, happy she accepted.
After a moment, he raised an eyebrow and looked at her, asking "There aren't... like... seven evil exes I'm going to have to worry about or something like that, right?" he was joking of course. He couldn't remember the last time he was in a relationship (meaning if he was, well, he really didn't remember), so he wasn't sure how he would handle an ex boyfriend's jealousy.

Passing the thought from his mind with a chuckle and a "Just kidding." he slid off the branch and landed gracefully below, standing straight and looking around. "Hey... it's about dinnertime... you want to grab a bite from Hogsmeade? My treat!" he said cheerfully. He waited for her to come down as well as her response. He was halfway trying to avoid the student body and their woeful ways of judgement, but also wanted to take her somewhere they could sit across form each other and have a nice, home cooked meal. He knew the owner of the local cafe rather well (apparently) and could get an awesome meal cooked at about any time of the day.

"What do you say? You game?" he said.

Mikayla giggled. [green] I don’t think I’ve had a legit boyfriend since I’ve been at Hogwarts…but I’m thinking at most 2?[/green] It was true. From what she could remember, she hadn’t actually ‘dated’ anyone the whole time she had been at Hogwarts. Sure she’d been involved with guys, but none of them had actually taken the time to be with her longer than a couple of days, except for the two: Zombie and Liam.

She watched him slide of the branch and followed right after him although her landing was a little less graceful than his. She lost her footing as she landed on the ground and stumbled a bit, falling into Kite. Once down, he had invited her to dinner at Hogsmeade. She smiled and accepted. [green] Of course. I’d love to. [/green] She took his hand and walked with him towards the end of the forest.

She wasn’t looking forward to crossing the school to get to the path to Hogsmeade as the two of them would surely be a point of interest. This would surely be something that would travel around the school like wildfire, but she hoped that it wouldn’t reach Christy before Mikayla could explain herself. Sure she wasn’t embarrassed by dating Kite or anything, but the situation was different with Christy. It was something that needed to be thoroughly explained.

As they emerged from the forest, Kite put his arm around her and pulled her into a gentle walking hug. "I'm not ashamed to be with you. I'd fight the whole school if that's what it'll take to be with you."

He wasn't lying, either.

Leaving his arm over her shoulder, he looked as several Gryffindor boys he 'knew' gaped at them, then started whispering. Kite, slightly annoyed, called over to them "You're not seeing things. If you have something to say, then say it." This triggered a response he didn't expect, for they turned tail and rushed off. This wasn't the first time it had happened. "Apparently I have a reputation here..." he thought out loud as they walked off the other side of the grounds.

The winding path seemed shorter than usual, but he figured that would be because he actually enjoyed the walk this time. The heat was subsiding as the sun began to sink behind the mountains, and as a slight chill bit the air, Kite removed his robe, put a shrinking spell on it to put it in his pocket, then removed his hoody, draping it around Mikayla's shoulders.

If chivalry was dead, then Kite was indeed a Ghoul.

Mikayla had long since ditched her robes, probably before she even started talking to Kite so the cool evening breeze was a bit chilly on her almost bare shoulders. She was glad when Kite had taken off his own hoodie and draped it over her shoulders. It was much warmer with it on thus making it much more comfortable to be outside.

The walk to Hogsmeade felt so much shorter than it usually did although most of the time it seemed long was because she was walking with a group of friends, all of which were in heels. Today Mikayla was actually in sensible converse high tops that complimented her tank top, plaid skirt, and fishnet stockings nicely.

The walk with Kite just seemed nice. It felt like nothing could go wrong today, as the day was more than perfect. That is until a group of Slytherin girls were hanging out near the entrance of Hogsmeade, off of them staring at her and Kite. She glared at them for now, but knew she wouldn’t hear the end of it later. She wasn’t embarrassed to be with Kite; it was that she didn’t know how to explain to anyone else why she had feelings for him. Just to make things worse, she gave Kite as kiss on the cheek as they walked past the girls, just to rub it in their faces.

They finally made it to Hogsmeade but Mikayla wasn’t sure where they were going to be eating, so she waited for Kite to lead her to said place.

Everything was great.

Until the thug with a wand appeared. The bandit used a charm to transmute a knife out of nowhere, and began to say somehting along the lines of "Hand over the gir-"

He never finished the sentence.

At the next moment, Kite's foot met the man's face. His nose was crushed like an egg shell. Before the man could react or even cry out in pain, Kite's other foot danced forth, feinted, then came back full circle in an improvised roundhouse kick. All the while, Kite's hands were in his pocket.

The man fell with a soft thud, and began scrambling away. Kite caught up to him and put his foot on the man's chest.
Leaning forward, he said "Don't. You. Ever. Theaten. My girl. Again." He growled. "Understand?"
Kite's demeanor changed to a ferocious, unforgiving version of him once forgotten. Releasing the man, he watched in amusement as the man took off, shoving people out of the way. Most likely, the Slytherin girls saw it too.
He turned his attention back to Mikayla. "I have absolutely no idea where that came from.." he chuckled. "Are you ok?" he asked, reaching out to her. A long but shallow gash could be seen on his left arm, but he seemed not to notice.

Mikayla's jaw hit the floor. Before she even had time to register that there was a random bandit threatening to take her, Kite was already kicking him in the face. Not only was Mikayla not the 'damsel in distress type' but she also knew how to protect herself. She reached for her wand but it was nowhere to be found, so she watched in awe as Kite defended her in the busy Hogsmeade street. Mikayla wasnt the type of girl who was ashamed or get mad if her boyfriend was fighting. She loved it, and loved that Kite was doing it.

As he returned to her, she grabbed him and kissed him passionately. [green]Where have you been all my life?[/green] She said semi-jokingly. She was likeing him more as she learned more about him and this was a big plus in her book. She saw his wound but not having her wand on her she couldnt mend it. She was able to wipe off any blood with her sleeve and kiss it better. [green]Thank you for saving me. I hope I can make it up to you sometime.[/green] She gave him a seductive smile.

Kite smiled. "Think nothing of it. I mean, you protect the people you love, right?" He blushed madly after he said it, and a split second later, his lip twitched.
I just said that out loud?!

It was true. He had fallen so far for her that he would have taken a knife in the chest for her at that last moment. She brought him peace, and also made him happier than he was sure he had ever been. His only problem now is that the magnitude of his feelings for her were now brought out in the open, and were most likely dancing in her head like crazy. He was then a little worried. Something like this would probably chase her off.

He opened his mouth, but no words came out, only a slight grunt. He was lost, seemingly glued to the spot, without a thought in his head. At that next moment, he could only expect the worst outcome, but hoped maybe, just maybe, she was accepting, and felt the same way about him. Maybe.

[green] You….l-l-l-love me? ][/green] Mikayla was so confused. She had never actually had anyone tell her the loved her before. She couldn’t even recall her parents telling her that as they weren’t the ‘sharing your emotions’ type of people, which was exactly how Mikayla grew up to be. She had never felt strongly enough about a person to use the word ‘love’ to describe her feelings, except for now.

She had never felt so strongly about a person as she did about Kite. She wasn’t sure what she was feeling, that is, until he said it out loud. Once it was out in the open, Mikayla decided that what she was feeling was indeed love. But she was confused as to how she could love someone that she had just met earlier that same day, it didn’t make sense. She had heard somewhere that love didn’t make sense and you couldn’t choose who you fell in love with but she felt like it was better that she had fallen in love with Kite than someone else. Kite was sweet, and caring, and polite, and he would defend her to no end; from what she could tell from just the one day, they were a pretty perfect couple and he made her happier than she had ever been as far as she could remember.

Mikayla was blushing more than she had ever done in her life and her stomach was in knots, but the good kind that feel like butterflies. [green] I…I…I love you…too. [/green] She managed to get out after a few stuttered tries. She couldn’t believe she actually said it. She had promised herself she would never fall in love, because love only lead to pain, but when she was around Kite, she couldn’t even begin to think negatively like that. She had fallen in love, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.
