Name: Brais Eamon
Age:30
Class you want to teach: Defense Against the Dark Arts
Personality: Brais is a cool, collected man. He doesn’t let little things worry him too much. He’s very mellow, and rarely gets truly angry at anything. He is very secure in himself, as well. He doesn’t worry about what other people think of him, and thinks highly of himself and his abilities. This occasionally leads him to underestimate those around him.
Brais looks down on people he doesn’t consider to be intelligent. He has an absolute hatred of idiots and tries his best to avoid them at any cost. He’s been known to be an asshole to people to try to get them to leave him the fuck alone, and to punish students he thinks little of harshly.
He’s gained a reputation of not caring about others, which is sort-of true. He does tend to believe that people should have to deal with their own mistakes, but not because he doesn’t care. If anything, it’s because he wants them to be stronger for it. He thinks the only way to be a better person is to go through a sort of “trial by fire”, which is what his class is designed to be.
History:
Brais Eamon was born in the middle of December, in the city of York, to a young singer named Fae in a touring Folk Band, and her roadie, Peter Eamon. At first, they raised the child together, on the road, but Fae’s career soon took off, and she left Peter behind to care for the child alone. But Peter didn’t mind it. In truth, he was happen to be rid of Fae, as she was a bit of, to be perfectly honest, a bitch.
So Peter raised Brais by himself, in a comfortable little house paid for by the child support payments that Fae sent back home. Brais was a gifted athlete as a child, and because of it, he developed a bit of an arrogant personality. His father was immensely proud of his son, as he was a failed athlete himself, and pushed him harder, but as long as Brais’s victories on the playing field, he was never punished, which led to him thinking he lived a charmed life.
His father refused to let Brais attend Hogwarts at first, since he wanted to teach Brais by himself, where he could revolve his sports training around his lessons. Things went well, at first, and Brais moved quickly through his studies with his Father and became increasingly great at his chosen sport, Rugby. But, it was not to last. When he was fourteen, he got into a car accident, which permanently left his right leg crippled.
His entire life was thrown into disarray. His father never really recovered from the loss of his aspirations of his son being a sports star, and the following year, he was sent to Hogwarts. His first year, he was a decent student, but not anything great. He was still unsure of himself.
His next year, however, he re-focused his energy and dedication from his old Rugby days and poured it into his studies. He excelled as a student and was quickly known as one of the most talented Wizards in Hogwarts. When he graduated, he had the credentials to take almost any job that he wanted.
But, instead, he chose to travel. He contacted his mother, and had her wire him enough money to take care of himself. So, he traveled around for the next three years, until he was twenty-one, when his father died. He returned to York for his funeral, and then made his way to London, to take up a job as an Auror, which had been offered to him when he graduated.
He served the Ministry for the next eight years, until he decided he wanted to do something different with his life, and went to Hogwarts, to apply for the open Defense Against the Dark Arts position.
Experience in RPG(Nice if you had any, but you don't have to)
Roughly Six Years worth.
RP(roll playing)Example:
Brais sat alone on the crest of a gentle, green hill. His blue eyes peered out over the rolling countryside before him, watching as the warm yellow-orange rays of the sunrise stretched out in its loving embrace and covered the landscape around him. It was such a beautiful thing to watch, and this was such a beautiful spot to watch it from.
He laid back in the grass, and felt the cool wetness of the morning dew through his clothes. It was soothing, as the sun washed over his body, and he felt the first traces of heat. But the soothing feeling did not last long. It was only a few minutes before he felt his right leg aching again. He was so haunted by that wound that had forever scarred him. He cursed the day that it had happened, the day that his potential had been robbed of him.
He groaned and rubbed it with both hands, trying to coax the pain out of it, but to no avail. He finally sighed and stood up, using his cane to support himself as he did. He began the long way back to the school, putting the lightest amount of weight on his leg. As he walked, he felt the sun rising higher and higher in the sky, and he watched his shadow shortening. He wondered what his classes would hold for him, and if t hey would finally fill the gap that he had, ever since that horrid day when he was a child, and had lost the love of his father.
