parker looked out at the lake. it was vast, to say the least. she couldn't even see the whole thing from where she was standing. it stretched on for miles on all sides, then hid behind the mountains to go on for who knew how much longer. sliding her flip-flops off and feeling the grass between her toes, the hufflepuff smiled into the sky, enjoying the perfect water as she walked down until she was in the water up to her ankles. the water was the perfect temperature. warmed by the sun so that it wasn't cold, but not so warm that it felt like bath water. she much preferred swimming pools, with the deep water that you could jump straight into and just feel your body sink until you were touching the bottom, but there wasn't one around. parker frowned slightly at that thought, but cheered up when she realized she could do something about that.
parker drew her wand and pointed it at the lake water, saying the incantation to the spell she had learned in charms just last week. the water froze instantly. parker channeled the charm to where she made a sort of dock leading out into deeper water. cheerfully, the blonde went back to the bank where she had left her shoes, and dropped her wand next to it before stripping down to her bathing suit. she stuffed her shirt and shorts in the small bag she had brought with her, which also contained a towel, and ran out to her ice-dock.
the ice was insanely cold against her bare feet, so she ran out to the deeper water before jumping off the end and splashing into the water with a small squeal. she became completely submerged in the water, which only increased her good mood, before she opened her eyes. the water was dirty, but she was still able to see far into the depths of the lake. she could see, another fifty feet out into the lake, where the ground seemed to open up and suddenly the water went from being twenty or so feet deep at that point to hundreds of feet down. running out of air, the girl resurfaced.
looking back to the bank of the water, she realized for the first time just how far out her ice-dock reached. she was at least thirty feet away from where she had first stood in the water. much further than she had thought. "oh well," she said, leaning back and floating on her back, looking up at the clouds in the sky. she saw a rabbit and a dragon, along with a cat jumping off a table. closing her eyes, she enjoyed the water, a smile on her face as she enjoyed the weather and the water.
((alright. i know it's a bad start. i'm terrible at starting, but parker needed some action. lol))
