Adonia was walking around outside. It was a little hot but she didn’t care. She was wearing shorts, a spaghetti strapped shirt with sandals. Her hair was flowing freely, straight, like she had worn it lately. Usually, Adonia would have it curly, but since everything had happened, she didn’t really care what she looked like. She had been kidnapped, faked her death with wandless magic of an illusion, escaped and turned back at home. Staying there for about a month, her parents made her come back to only be more depressed. Her boyfriend was gone… Adonia loved Ethan, but she needed move on. She was crushing on Scot Sola at the moment. Yes, they did have a heavy make out session, but she remembered why she had like him. He was good looking and really funny.

Heading down to the lake, Adonia bent down and put her hands in the water. It was cool. She splashed some water onto her neck… not her face because she had her make up on. It was the usual. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara… but this time she was wearing cover up because of the dark circles on her eyes. She hadn’t slept well lately… nightmares. It was bad. Yes, it seemed like she was overreacting, but if you were a person who was always happy, thinking nothing would go wrong, then yes, you would be scared after that.

Sitting down in the grass under the tree, Adonia sighed and closed her eyes.

Finally, classes were over for the day. Today had felt so long, Athan swore someone had bewitched the whole world to move five times slower than normal, but he was now walking up from the basements changed out of uniform and now in just an old t-shirt and some pants. Deciding to go get some fresh air, since his last class had been a double session in the dungeons for potions, he made his way out through the Stone Courtyard and down the path to the lake.

Using the Levitation Charm to lift stones and skip them across the water, the Hufflepuff made his way around the lake's edge, continuously magically skipping stones and simultaneously running a hand through his hair. Who thought that this year would be so stressful? Of course, it was Seventh Year, but Athan hadn't been counting on this much extra work, both in and out of classes. He was in the middle of mumbling under his breathe about excessive amounts of Charms essays when a familiar figure came into his view. Adonia.

His best friend for years, the Ravenclaw girl had been so different since the incident. Of course, he didn't blame her, but he missed the Adonia that he had known for all that time. He had been so worried when she disappeared. He had had nightmares that involved her body being found, completely devastated by curses and wild beasts and the like. When they found her and the others in the dungeon, he had almost cried he was so happy. He had visited her at St. Mungo's and all that.

Getting closer to her, Athan couldn't help but smile slightly. Being around her always made him at least a little happier. She was his best friend and he loved being with her. He stood behind her and silently raised a rock before sending it flying right over her head and skipping an impressive ten times across the water. Of course, with magic, it was much easier to skip rocks, but still. He was proud of himself. "Hey there, Adonia," he said, sitting next to her with a small smirk on his face.

Almost drifting off to sleep, Adonia could see waves crashing against the ocean. Smell the salt in the breeze as it tickled her nose. In the dream, Adonia wanted to go swimming… but something flashed in her eyes… a rock? And it skipped… That’s weird. Adonia thought. But as she heard the skips and a voice saying her name, greeting her, Adonia realized it wasn’t her dream.

Opening her eyes, she looked over and saw Athan. She jumped a little, but noticeable, then a small smile played at the ends of her mouth. [black]”Hey, Athan.”[/black] Rolling her shoulders and moving her neck side to side for them to relax, Adonia took a deep breath. She had missed Athan. He was such a great friend. He was there for her at St. Mungos when she had to stay for a while. Adonia would need to do something for Athan to make it up to him. [black]”Taking a fancy stroll today too?”[/black] Saying with a friendly smile. It was nice to talk to Athan again.

Athan watched Adonia relax, and did the same himself, placing his hands on the ground behind him and leaning back on them while stretching his legs out and crossing them just above his ankles. "A fancy stroll?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow slightly and looking down at what he was wearing. "I don't know if anything I'm doing right now could be considered 'fancy.' Well, except for maybe talking to you. That's kinda fancy, isn't it?" he said, laughing slightly.

The Hufflepuff boy looked out on the lake and sighed slightly. He had spent so much time in the castle lately that he had forgotten how good the sun and the breeze felt until now. It felt good to be out here now, just relaxing in the sunshine and spending some much needed time with his friend.

Squinting because of the sun in his face, he glanced over at Adonia, watching her for a second. He remembered a time where he could hardly look at her out of embarrassment that came immediately following the night of his seventeenth birthday. It was a night he never purposefully thought about, but the memories were resurfacing now. They had gotten a little drunk and, well, getting dressed the next morning was done very awkwardly.

Blinking the memories away, he put his weight on one hand and lifted the other to poke her side. "How are you, Miss Theodosia?" he asked her, his small smile still sitting on his lips. The awkward point of their friendship was over. Everything was just like it was before anything had happened. Well mostly. There were still times they'd joke about it or find some sort of blackmail they could make of the night. But, other than that, there was no visible difference in their friendship.

Smiling at Athan, Adonia nodded her head, [black]”Yes, its fancy for talking to me. Also a stroll would also too be fancy. I’ve been sitting for a long time now.”[/black] She said as she nudged his shoulder. Athan was so comforting to talk to. Adonia never put on an act when she talked to people, she always been herself, but with Athan, it felt like more relaxed and not really matter what to say since they both knew each other so well… both mentally and physically.

When Adonia was laying in the bed at St. Mungos, every time she saw Athan, she would think of his birthday. Athan didn’t know, but every time he left her, her face would suddenly turn red, a little embarrassed. Sure, she felt bad for sleeping with Athan. Being his first kiss which also lead to being his first. Again, Adonia did feel bad, but she never really regretted it.

Yawning slightly, she heard Athan how she was doing and referring to her last name. That made her chuckle a bit, [black]”A little better, Mister Demos. But I still feel depressed most of the time and I hate taking the potions… I don’t know why they make me take them. Maybe its because I wont look like Miss Doom and Gloom around here.”[/black] She shrugged her shoulders. [black]”Also, I still have to go talk to a St. Mungos healer from time to time to see how I am. Again, I don’t know either why I have to do that too. Just so… stupid.”[/black] Adonia saying the last sentence playing with a blade of grass and then throwing it when she said her last word. Sure, she was sick of everything, but life went on. Pushing her thoughts away, she looked to Athan. [black]”How are you, Athan?”[/black] She asked with a friendly smile.

Athan listened as Adonia told him about her routine now. His small smile turned upside down the more he listened. He hated how she was still suffering physically, even after all this time. There wasn't a single time when he saw her that he didn't wish it had been him instead. She didn't deserve to be down in that dungeon alone any more than he did, and he probably could have handled it a little better. Someone as carefree and such as Adonia was never stood a chance down there.

Shrugging off the thoughts, he smiled again as he jokingly said "I've always been tempted to swap one of your potions for something outrageous, like, a hair growth serum or something." He smirked over at her and nudged her slightly to let her know he was kidding. "Just imagine yourself with a long beard and hair down to the floor. Maybe something like this." He grabbed his wand from his pocket and pointed it at her, muttering the charm, and caused her hair to shoot out of her head until it was twice as long as normal. Laughing, Athan leaned away from her, wary of a possible incoming hit.

When she asked him how he was, he shrugged. "I've been okay. Been having problems in my classes since my genius Ravenclaw friend hasn't been the most social person in the world, and, therefore, hasn't been able to help me with homework." He stuck his tongue out at her playfully before laughing and leaning on her slightly. After sitting up again, he looked at her for a second before saying, "I've missed you, Adonia." He had. He had missed her more than he really wanted to say. Truth was, ever since their night together, he couldn't help but like her as a little bit more than a friend. It wasn't much, but it was enough to call it a crush. He couldn't help it, and he didn't dare tell her. Last thing he wanted was something else to possibly make their friendship awkward.

Boy, Adonia sure did miss the humor that Athan had to him. She was laughing now when he said that he wanted to switch her potion. First, she would have been probably really mad, but then would maybe laugh about it. Athan did know for sure how to make her feel better and that was with a laugh. [black]”Oh really?”[/black] She said with her eyebrows raised. Then, she felt her hair get heavy and longer. Adonia was definitely surprised at how Athan made her hair grow longer. His Transfiguration was pretty good… wonder who had been tutoring him? Grabbing her hair and running her fingers through it, Adonia seemed to like the length. [black]”Nice choice. I like it… but it would be hard to maintain don’t you think?”[/black] Saying as she twirled her finger around it like a girl who would be flirting with a boy, but Adonia wasn’t flirting with Athan.

It was true, Adonia hadn’t really been social lately. She kind of just kept to herself, not wanting people to talk to her. She smiled a little with some sadness in it as she looked to the ground when he said that his genius Ravenclaw friend wasn’t helping him with his homework. Adonia always helped Athan with his homework… someday, he would need to do it himself… but she guessed he suffered enough without her. She was smiling and somewhat laughing hollowly as she looked at the ground.

Adonia was going to respond to his comment about the homework when she looked up and he was staring at her, then he had said he missed her. Adonia put a little smile on her face, this time it was with a happy emotion. [black]”I missed you too, Athan.”[/black] Adonia did miss him actually. Yes, she had been antisocial, so she hadn’t talked to Athan in a while, like a good sit down talk. He was such a great guy… she didn’t know if Athan was still with Kelsi, but Kelsi was one lucky girl. Adonia always felt a tiny bit of jealously… but she never told anyone about it. Sure, she dated other guys, but still, she still felt that way.

Getting to her feet, Adonia brushed off the access grass and dirt. [black]”Come on, lets take that stroll you want.”[/black] She said with a smile and her hand outreached to Athan, wanting to help him up if he wanted it.

Athan laughed at her reaction to her sudden hair growth. He had half expected her to at least hit him on the shoulder, but he found it funny that she actually liked the length. He looked for a second like he was thinking about something before flicking his wand again, causing her hair to shrink back to it's normal length before flicking it again and causing it to turn hot pink. "That is your look!" he said, cracking a wide smile and laughing.

”I missed you too, Athan.”

The Hufflepuff boy smiled a little more and looked at the ground, leaning over and nudging Adonia slightly. He felt his face go a little red, and he sighed silently to himself. Maybe the embarrassing days weren't over. Athan laughed slightly and looked up as his company suddenly stood up and held out a hand to him, offering to go for a walk. Athan took his friends hand and stood up, holding onto her hand a little longer than he needed to. He quickly let go, though, avoiding looking at her for a second before stuffing his hands in his pockets and continuing walking in the direction he had been when he had first seen Adonia.

Feeling her hair return to normal, but then feeling another spell on her, Adonia looked to her hair… it was pink! [black]”Athan!!”[/black] She laughed and then smacked him in his arm. Bringing out her own wand, she changed her hair back to the color it was, brown with chunky blond streaks. Adonia thought it would be funny to do something with Athan’s hair. Smiling, she flicked her wand and Athan’s hair looked like a poodle. Very curly. Adonia laughed, [black]”There we go, Fifi!”[/black]

Starting to walk with Athan and noticed that he had held her hand longer and she didn’t mind. She wanted to hold his hand, but then when he let go of her hand, Adonia felt a little pang. Disappointed? But why? They were friends, but maybe there was something small in her that had liked him? She didn’t know.

Not letting her thoughts go to that now, she just concentrated on walking with Athan around the lake. It was nice. Swinging her arms in front of her as she clapped her hands, Adonia looked to Athan. [black]”So are you Kelsi still together?”[/black] Adonia was out of the loop these days with Hogwarts couples. It was like with Kayla and Liam also with Mikayla and Kite. Everyone was hooking up and it was like Adonia was continuing to figure out who is together. [black]”Feels like I missed a lot.”[/black] She said with a small laugh as she looped her around through Athan’s arm. It wasn’t holding hands, but friends usually did this; and Athan was her best friend… at least she thought.

Athan felt his hair curl from the spell, and gave Adonia a playful glare. "Adonia Theodosia. How dare you?" His face might have looked serious, but his tone gave away that he wasn't really that angry. He fixed his own hair before waving an imaginary white flag. "Okay. Truce. No more transfiguring eachother." He ran his fingers through his hair, making sure it was back to normal, before letting out a small sigh and laughing.

When Adonia asked him if him and Kelsi were still together, he looked away. Kelsi. His girlfriend. He had a girlfriend and he was sitting here allowing himself to think about him having a crush on Adonia. He felt kind of bad about that. This was something else he would have to hide from her. He was already hiding that he had slept with Adonia while he had been talking to Kelsi. Thinking about all this just made him feel bad even more. "Yeah. We're still together," he said after a second. That was all he said about that, though. He was too embarrassed to talk about his relationship.

White flags waving, that was a good sign. Adonia laughed, she thought it was a good idea. What could happen next? Athan wearing makeup… That wouldn’t be a bad idea… Adonia thought. Next time. she finished the thought with a smirk, but good thing they were just laughing not knowing what Adonia was really thinking.
Hearing that he still had a girlfriend, Adonia nodded a little bit. [black]”Well, that’s good.”[/black] She said with a smile. Sure, he had a girlfriend and Adonia was cool with it… but at the same time, she wanted to be the number one girl in Athan’s life.

Walking down the side of the lake more, Adonia thought that she needed to lighten the mood. It certainly was a hot day… and there was water next to Athan… without really thinking, Adonia grabbed Athan and pulled him into the water with her. With a big splash, Adonia started to laugh and then swimming around. [black]”Now, that’s what you call the element of surprise.”[/black] She said with a big smile. This was the first real smile she had on her face for a while… well… she did go with Scot and he did make her laugh a lot and smile, but he was flirting with her and people know how Adonia is when people flirt with her. Turning red and sometimes laughing. But this smile, it was out of pure joy with a friend. Cupping her hand, Adonia splashed water towards Athan. [black]”Now, this is nice. Swimming with a friend in the hot sunshine. Laughing… gosh, I miss this.”[/black] She said as she was backstroking around Athan.

Athan was enjoying the walk. It was nice just getting to spend time with Adonia, who he hardly ever got to spend time alone with. He was looking down at the ground, kicking rocks as he walked, when he was suddenly pulled off track and forced into the water. After resurfacing, he shook his hair out of his face and gave Adonia a playful glare, a smile involuntarily placed on his face. "Now that's just unfair!" he shouted. Without really pausing to think about it, Athan dove into the water and wrapped his arms around Adonia's thighs. He stood up, picking her out of the water as he did so before falling backwards, bringing his friend down with him.

He resurfaced after a second and looked over at his friend, laughing. Walking over to the shore, he kicked off his shoes and pulled his shirt over his head, tossing them both on the shore. Pulling his wand from his pocket, he tapped his pants and transfigured them into swim trunks. Tossing his wand next to his shirt and shoes, he dove into the water, swimming right past Adonia before resurfacing and floating on his back in the sun. "This was a good idea, Adonia," he said with his eyes closed.

Hearing Athan say that it was unfair, Adonia kept doing her backstroke around him and then stopped, smiling at him. [black]”Who said life aint fair, kid?”[/black] Adonia had always called Athan kid. It was because he was younger than her, but only by mere days. There wasn’t really any other nicknames she would call him… maybe he could call him stud… from that one night they had sex, but then it would embarrass Athan… but it was worth a shot. Maybe later. Adonia thought to herself.

Then, Athan went underwater. She thought that he was swimming, but then he grabbed her legs and pulled her up out of the water. Adonia shrieked and laughed while he brought her down in the water. Resurfacing, Adonia laughed and wiped her hair out of her eyes. [black]”Looks like you are getting stronger. That’s good. Don’t want to be scrawny forever.”[/black] Teasing Athan as she laughed. That was one good thing about Athan, he had a sense of humor and so did she. So they could tease each other back and forth and not worry about getting hurt. Its all fun and games.

Seeing Athan pull off his shoes and shirt, she thought that was a good idea. Adonia pulled off her own shoes, throwing them on the land while she pulled out her wand. Saying a nonverbal spell, warm air left her wand, drying her shoes as well as Athan’s shoes and shirt. Maybe it was a good idea to transfigure the clothing. Adonia quickly dove underwater as she took off her shorts and shirt. Needing air, she quickly popped her head above the water, took a quick breath and went back under, transfiguring her bra and underwear to a bikini. It was dark blue, her favorite color. Emerging, Adonia threw her clothes to shore, drying them.

Adonia didn’t want to toss her wand on the land… ever since that day she was kidnapped, she always had her wand with her no matter what. So she stuck it on the side of her leg where her strap met on her hip. Watching Athan speak, she smiled to him. [black]”I know, I have a good instinct on when to swim and do plans.”[/black] She smiled and swam more. [black]”So… how is school? Getting the homework turned in?”[/black]

”Looks like you are getting stronger. That’s good. Don’t want to be scrawny forever.”

"Hey!" Athan said, giving Adonia an angry, but playful look. "I'm not scrawny, thank you very much." He stuck his tongue out at the Ravenclaw girl before laughing. So maybe he was a little on the small side. He couldn't help it, and it was better than being morbidly obese. Maybe he should work out. He could build muscle and not have to worry about Adonia or anyone else making fun of him for being so scrawny.

When Adonia transfigured her lingerie into a bikini, Athan couldn't help but look her over. Doing so might have been a mistake, though, because he was soon faced with memories of her on top of him in her underwear the night they had spent together. Coming back to the present, the Hufflepuff realized he had been staring. Blinking several times and looking away, he felt his face turn red. "Um.. uh.. yeah." He tried to stammer out an apology, but his tongue wasn't working with him at the current point in time.

After several seconds of standing there in the water awkwardly, he turned away from her and dove into the water, swimming away from her. Way to go, Athan, he thought to himself while still swimming. That wasn't awkward at all. He eventually came up for air, sticking his head above the water, but keeping his shoulders and the rest of his body submerged in the lake. Turning to face Adonia, he avoided looking directly at her. Didn't want to stare again, and he especially didn't want to get caught doing so.

((Just read the Adonia/Scot thread. If they wind up in bed, Athan's gonna be crushed... Kelsi broke up with him for lying about Adonia, so she's all he has left, really. lol. Juss sayin.))

Adonia laughed as Athan stuck his tongue out at her. She splashed some water towards his way and started to moved her arms back and forth in the water, creating some waves. Adonia sometimes wondered if someone, like a professor, could transfigure the waves so that they could try surfing. It would be a lot of fun and also changing things up a bit. But hey, not anyone can get what they ask for in life.

Her hair was getting dry so Adonia dipped her head back as she wet her hair. When she slicked it back, she looked to Athan… he had a blank stare on his face, staring at her. Adonia waved her hand… he didn’t stop. Should she look away? Swim? She didn’t know… but before she could make up her mind, Athan snapped out of it… his face turning red. Adonia wondered what Athan was thinking about. Maybe it would had to have been something about her since he turned red and he seemed to stammer and swam away.

Watching Athan submerge out of the water, she looked at him… but he wasn’t looking back at him. [black]”Athan, tell me what you were thinking. I have a feeling it was about me. You can go ahead and tell me.”[/black] She said as she slowly swam to him. [black]”We know each other well.”[/black] She said as she reached him, floating a few feet away from him.

((No way! I heard they broke up, but I thought it was cause Athan felt bad for flirting with Adonia. I didn’t know he lied about it. Also, Adonia wouldn’t sleep with Scot… she wants to win the challenge haha. Why would Athan be mad?? Does he want to sleep with her again? ))
