The trees near the lake danced around in the wind. It was cold outside, the wind made is so much worse. The young Ravenclaw was trying to study, but the wind wasn't making that easy for her. Her reddish-brown hair covered her eyes, the wind flipped the pages in her book. She was about ready to give up. She knew enough about Potions for now. Olive stood up, leaning down to pick up her potions book. She held her book tight to her chest, looking down at her shoes. Olive had woken up a bit early to go outside so she could study alone. She really wished she could have someone to talk to. She got along well with the students in her classes, but outside of class she didn't have any good friends. If she was going to get anywhere in the world, she knew she would have to at least attempt to make friends.
Olive wasn't an unfriendly person. She knew that. She just wasn't that good at keeping friends. She would get along with someone so well, but she needed space. The more and more Olive felt she needed space, the more and more all of her friendships would fall apart. She was never very close to anyone in her life, because she knew they would just end up leaving, just like her mother did. 'Maybe I could make a friend today' Olive thought to herself, smiling as she looked up at the gray sky. Now she had something to do on her least favorite day of the week. Saturday. It seemed like everyone at Hogwarts had plans with their friends. Everyone except Olive. She needed to make a friend today. Maybe she could even meet a boy. The possibilities were endless.
Olive walked down to the water, smiling down at her reflection. She looked approachable. Her wavy hair was a little bit messy from the wind, but anybody she would see outside would have the same problem. Olive adjusted her sweater and walked along the water, thinking about her goal for the day. Making friends. It sounded a lot easier than it would be for her. 'Just smile, and act normal.' She thought, giggling.
