The wind was howling as the horseless carriages drove through the main gates of Hogwarts. It was another year and he was glad to have gotten away from his family. Terrence stuck his head out the window and breathed in the fresh mountain air. He could see the first years crossing the Black Lake. It's a good thing it wasn't his first year. The weather was treturous tonight. One good wind, and he probably would have fallen into the depths.
The carriages pulled into the main courtyard and students began piling out. Terrence hopped out holding his very fat fluffy cat in his arms, Jasper. Pulling the carriages was something very few Hogwarts students could see,
threstles. Terrence himself couldn't see them, but he took for granted that they were there. Jasper started squirming in his arms. The cat had never liked the creatures, but he supposed that he wouldn't like them very much if he could see them either. Terrence carried his cat up the front steps and gave him a little shoo, telling him to go to the common rooms. Jasper gave a good, long stretch before listening to his master and headed towards the kitchens. Terrence stood shaking his head at the top of the landing. Suddenly remembering how hungry he was, he headed towards the Great Hall.
Terrence, being seated at the Hufflepuff table, looked down at his very loud, growling stomach. Having ridden the Hogwarts express for several hours, and only eaten cavity-causing sweets from the trolley, he was very ravenous. His loud grumbling made it hard for other students to hear the Headmistress and shot him funny looks. Shrugging his shoulders at them, he simply whispered " I am sorry, I can't control it." his stomach seemed to have echoed all across the Great Hall and even the Fat Friar gave him a look. What a terrible thing to have to listen to as you were being sorted. Terrence hoped there would be a few more Hufflepuffs this year. Oh right, he had completely forgotten. His mother had asked him to keep an eye out for a first year, Ellison Wysecross. He wondered what house she would be sorted into.
Once the Professor had finished her speech all the students clapped. Terrence stood up and loudly exclaimed " Bravo, Bravo, Encore." Then promptly shut up once the beautiful words, " Let the feast begin" were uttered. Glorious food appeared on the golden plates set before them. Terrence did not need telling twice to "Dig in". He grabbed 4th helpings of the treacle tart and 3rd's of bangers and mash. He was so consumed with his appetite he had nearly forgotten about the triwizards tournament. He attempted to strike up a conversation with those in his house about it, but simply forgot he had food in his mouth, so really it came out "'Ey Ou Ear Buot He Ournament." Hufflepuff's howled in laughter at Terrence. He just merely smiled, food stuck in his teeth, and his ear's turning red. It's funny what hunger will make a man do.
