On a twilight site I belong to I wrote this as a prompt I was given in a RP exercise. Prompt was:
Your sitting in class and it has just began. Being the newest vegetarian, describe how you are holding your thirst and want for the blood around you. Describe how you are coping being in a classroom full of humans and you the only vampire. Be creative. Stay in character.
My RP::

Jasper sat in a small confined room full of humans. It was considered his worst nightmare, but he did it willingly. He was sitting at his same desk in the back of the classroom that he attended whenever the clouds covered and hid away the sun. For being a vampire, the sun tend to give up his identity. Usually Alice, his loving mate and wife, was by his side holding his hand below the table top. But today she had gone out for a hunt without him, leaving him to suffer alone with the unprotected student mass. Luckily it was the last class of the day, he was sure to exit the building and the area as soon as the bell stroke the magical time.
The smell of the humans that gave off and traveled around the room was intoxicating. His mind was like in a trapped cage just waiting to be released. He could feel the venom in his mouth wanting to produce. He gave one big gulp trying to resist all of the temptation filling the air. A student walked in late as the bell had just rung, she hurried quickly to her seat, the wind of her passing traveled to no humans awareness, but he could sense it.. smell it. He held his breath for as long as he could while still seeming to blend in. He released the breath slowly back out and closed his eyes for a moment.
"Today is a movie day!" the teacher proclaimed with glee as she came in rolling an older TV set. He popped open his eyes having not been aware of her appearance. A few students giggled and awed over not having to pay attention while the few that found movie days too boring gave a small sigh. The sounds seemed to feel the room as Jasper tried to ignore them, only making himself more aware of their movement. Each small breath the ones near by took in he could hear. Even the ones across the room he could sense. As they breathed out, it was almost like he could feel the warmth upon his skin. Images of holding them close as he shifted them in his grasp to clearly get a perfect clean strike to their pulsing blood, swam through his mind in colorful livid pictures.
He sat more still, trying not to make any movements. His hands grasped the bottom of his chair as he lightly dug his finger tips into the wooden frame. He tried to shift his attention else where. He looked back to the teacher hoping she was doing something more distracting. She fiddled with the VCR for a moment as the tape was disputing wanting to go in. Why did schools never invest in better technology when it was to be used in a learning environment? Was the government really that cheap? Those thoughts helped to relax him for the moment in not paying attention to his lust.
The TV flickered with white and black digital picture. She turned to smile at the classroom as if proud to find it did indeed work properly. "Alright class, make sure to pay attention, a pop quiz might find it's way to you." She said excitedly in more of a grim evil way. As if she knew her pleasure would truely bring them pain. She walked over and turned the lights out and went to settle in at her desk.
Now sitting in the dark with only the lights of the tv brighting the shadows and the teacher's computer that buzzed as the fans kicked on and off, he felt more at home. Darkness was his world, not only physically but naturally brooding and being in a more dark place emotionally was a true art by Jasper. Alice was his sun, his angel that found and took him in. Without her here, he could dwell in misery without any precautions. That at least he did enjoy, though after a while it did get tiresome. His heart leapt as he thought of Alice. He pictured her sitting next to him in the empty chair, letting his mind travel to a different world. He relaxed more and let go of the chair's now scarred wood. Though the dark felt more like home, it also seemed to heighten his awareness, for he could still see just as clear as daylight. Students whispering back and forth and passing notes seemed to take place throughout the film. He only studied the images that appeared and the words that seemed way out dated for this decade. Where ever did they actually get this movies?
His urge to take down the living creatures around him seemed to pass as he fixated on the tv screen and thoughts of Alice. He could picture what she would be saying to him now, the innocent worried looks upon her face, the emotions she would be feeling for him and the soothing feeling of her touch upon his arm as she tried to be as close but not too close to him as she could realistically manage.
It's okay Jasper... they are just students like you and me... calm down Jazz. Her voice floated through his mine like a violin. Her sing-song voice was by far the most enchanting musical notes to ever be heard by any one or thing. He signed as his heart seemed to ache to be by her side. He let his emotions feel with contemptness and a calm vibe that he then sent out for everyone else to feel. Everything feeling so calm, peaceful-like, gave him innerpeace to sit feeled with their scents spreading like wildfire through the room.
The bell rang suddenly and he jumped up with a little too much power, almost knocking the chair out from beneath him. He made his way to the door before most of the students had even bothered to pick up their belongings. He raced down the hallway before too many students filled the corridor. He found his way to the outside door and opened it with one clean fluid push. He walked outside and took in a clean fresh air gulp. The bark of the near by trees, the newly painted buildings, the dew upon the grass; it all rushed into his lungs and filled him with new scents to cherish as if to be his very own savors. He walked across the clearing of the parking lot to find Alice waiting for him in her yellow Porche. He smiled genuinely insanely happy to see her. "Don't you think the car is a bit overkill?" he asked as he hopped in the passenger side.
