Cali was walking the hallways and corridors of the school, looking for somewhere she could just relax and listen to her music without being interrupted. It had been a few days since she'd spoken to Tom. Well, more a week really and it was still killing her to think of him. She liked singing along to her music aloud. She just didn't really want people to know she could sing. It brought on questions as to why she didn't sing more often. Like her drawing, she did it for fun and, unlike her drawing, wanted to keep that to herself. She pretended she didn't see the glances she received from students who knew her as the bubbly, crazy-haired Gryffindor girl. They were probably just shocked because of her sudden change in her choice of clothing.
She found an empty classroom, which was shocking with all the students and professors roaming around the school. Quickly enough, not wanting someone to run in while she was there, she locked the door. Cali had no idea what the classroom was used for, if it was used at all. Nor did she care, really. It was empty and therefore perfect for her.
Cali walked the length of the class, looking over the small knick-knacks scattered in the room. She couldn't have told you what sort of class they belonged to but then it didn't really matter. She took a seat on, not at, the Professors desk and the front of the class. She wasn't sure how long the class had been unoccupied but it wasn't dusty. If she were to have guessed, she would have said they either cleaned it often or it had been recently discarded.
Normally when she was alone with her music, she didn't bother using the head phones, but today she was feeling the need to use them with her iPod touch. Cali scrolled through her impressive song list to her favourite band. The New Cities The song she chose by them wasn't something you could normally sing to, but then, Cali had an interesting list of talents. She selected one of her favourite songs, Leaders of the mislead, from the list.
The music flowed through the earbuds, drowning out all the noise inside and outside the classroom. When the words began, she joined them.
"I cannot forget those days; Heavy like my feet were stuck in concrete; Locked into a life-delay; Where everything I’d see was blind ambition; Just when this story seems to end; Our world expands and then extends; Even if my words are faint; You will always hear me say..." She sang. She had no idea if she sounded horrible. It was the downside to having the earbuds in, she couldn't hear herself properly. Not that she cared, really.
