Name: C.(atherine) Amelia Florence
Age(characters age): 46
Class you want to teach: Mythology
Personality:
Amelia is a hard and dedicated worker, willing to sacrifice time and effort to help others, and make sure that the task at hand is complete. For her, something is never finished and completed, but can always use revision and improvement. This makes her a difficult teacher to have.
Amelia lives by a schedule. Just as she schedules time to study and learn; she schedules time to socialize with others, and always leaves a block of time open to her students. She is a very social person, and enjoys hosting luncheons for staff members and students. She tends to be the life of the party, wherever she goes – something that some might consider to be slightly annoying.
She has strong moral beliefs, and adheres to them. She is not a stickler for the rules, and feels that there are exceptions sometimes. She also is predisposed to have ‘favorite’ students.
History (characeters background):
Born to Michael and Catherine Rosette DeVall in Vancouver, B.C., Canada; she spent a great deal of her time outside of the world of magic. Even though both of her parents were magic, they had shunned magic, and lived a normal lifestyle. They could not, however, quench the magic out of her. British immigrants, they had gone to Hogwarts; and fled the country to escape Voldemort’s uprising.
However, Amelia (Each of the women in her family were given the first name Catherine, and informally known by their middle name) was registered in McGonagall’s book for Hogwarts. She received her introductory letter, and that is when her parents explained the world of magic to her. Not willing to bar her from any opportunity, they allowed her to go to Hogwarts; trusting Dumbledore’s aegis over Hogwarts to be satisfactory. Amelia was sorted into Gryffindor house.
A charming young lady, Amelia had several good friends, but her eager and joyful personality also made her the target of some derision among the more jaded students. She spent a good deal of time in the infirmary because of slyly cast jinxes and hexes. However, as most teenagers do, she survived, with high OWL and NEWT scores.
She originally wanted to become an auror, but several friends dissuaded her, namely because of the high mortality rates. She decided to work in the department of magical law enforcement instead.
Experience in RPG(Nice if you had any, but you don't have to)
I roleplayed heavily between 2005-2007 on Ezboard/Yuku. I have owned and administrated many different Harry Potter RPGs, Including “Hogwarts: Dawn of a New Age” and “The Seventh Horcrux”.
RP(roll playing)Example:
Ensconced at her desk, Amelia was deep into a large copy of Tolkien’s writing, reading not only the text, in this case, “The Silmarillion”, but also, the legion notes that she had written in the margins over the years, asking herself and the book questions, as though the wellspring of knowledge therein would rise up and answer.
The was tender with the pages. Not out of any reverence for the book, per se; but because the book was starting to fall apart. To Amelia, the more damaged, dog-earred, and scarred a book was, the more it was loved. She refused to magick them back together, preferring the muggle method, involving a great deal of spellotape, and when that failed, duct tape.
From her cluttered mess of a desk, Amelia picked up a teacup, and drank the last sip that remained. It was cold. Too engrossed to bother setting a kettle to boil, she continued reading away, as the snow fell outside.
