Name: Florean Felicity Fawcetta
Age(characters age): 28
Class you want to teach: Muggle Studies
Personallity: When you're in Florean Fawcetta's presence, you can't help but become transfixed by her, um, abundance. It's her dominant trait, and it's particularly astounding when examined up close. From two feet away, for instance.
Florean is ebullient, boisterous, ferociously funny and endearing; and she's a good many other things, too -- fearless, sexy, cornpone, clever, candid, folksy, ditsy, brilliant, self-deprecating, animated, squeaky -- all of it adding up to a larger-than-life figure who oozes so much stardom that you can more or less swim in the wake of her status. Though you might just as easily find yourself adrift in its overwhelming amplitude.
When Florean walks into a room, she changes the tenor of the whole room in such a great way. She has this great spirit. But she also has an honesty that not many other people have. By this, he means that Fawcetta's personality isn't a put-on. While she certainly plays it up for the student -- whom have adored her in varying amounts, and in various mediums, for most of the past 14 years -- it's rooted in reality
History: Born in Dallas Texas to a not so wealthy family, Florean grew up to respect others and treat them as she would want to be treated. Although her family didn’t have much - she was always taught that whatever she had was better than nothing - there were always poorer out there than her family. When her family actually had anything, Florean always found someone more needy to give it to, she always thought of others before her own personal gain - people called it a flaw, but others called it a gift - hence when she went to Hogwart’s school she was placed into Hufflepuff.
Her time through Hogwarts was tough, but she pulled through it, that was one of her strengths, the ability to get through life and the sweet ability to knock off the rest of the world and get on with her task at hand. From her time at Hogwarts Florean always used to lose her wand, if it wasn’t tucked behind her ear, or stuck in her hair like a hair pin then she couldn’t find it - thus gaining the knowledge of learning to use magic without a wand, not many are able to master it, but she has an advanced knowledge of the subject now, although she is still learning newer techniques.
Florean always had the knack for Charms, and although she didn’t know why, she always had the ability for Defence Against the Dark Arts - her parents didn’t care too much for that little gift, but in time they become to respect it and thus nurtured her ability. After her school life she became excelled in Charms, moving through higher education, through higher education - but when she went for the job at Hogwarts for Professor of Muggle Studies because of her love for the muggle community.
Florean quit her post at Hogwarts when he current students had graduated and turned into well turned out wizards and witches. Florean got a teaching post in a Muggle School (she wanted to experience the difference of students). Florean stayed there for several years before being asked to return to Hogwarts as the Muggle Studies Professor and the new Head of Hufflepuff.
Florean has held this post for over 8 years. Her personality has got her into the good books of most of the students. And her youthful looks and volumtous figure has made her the eye candy for the male students.
Experience in RPG: About 5 years experience. I usually go for teaching positions on HP sites.
RP Example: "Move it kiddo!" The little voice screeched as a professor marched a student through the corridors. The voice suited its owner, small but powerful. Florean Fawcetta. The Muggle Studies Professor at Hogwarts - she had held that title for just over 8 years now. Funny really, a pure blood witch teaching Muggle Studies. She had taught in a Muggle school for some years though, so she did have the experience.
Florean was a strange sort of person - well, not so, but for a Muggle Study Professor, she really didn't look the part. But the main this was that her spells had clout. As a Former Hufflepuff she knew how to have a good time, and thus she did - it is what made her popular with the other students. But in a natural balance, Florean could also be very strict. Respected by the students for her fierce loyalty and her unwavering respect for them, regardless of their blood or house, but as always, there was always one house that had a vendetta against one of the professors. Slytherin. As nice as she was, Florean even got on with some students in the Slytherin house, but no one can please everyone - something she will hold her hands up to, but neither does she sink as low as some professors as to 'suck up' to the Slytherin students to get them to like her - they take her as she is and that is how it goes - tough luck.
"But Professor! Please -- I did't mean to call her --" The young Hufflepuff pleaded to try and get off the hook. Permia Monks had been fighting with a Ravenclaw girl down by the Black Lake - from the office high up on the Seventh floor Florean could see it all, also the tip off by another Hufflepuff had alerted her to the subject. "Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Don't beg, Permia - it don't suit you. It don't suit a Hufflepuff!" Being the Head of Hufflepuff, Florean came down hard on her own house if they were caught in trouble. But being as fair as Helga Hufflepuff herself meant that Permia wouldn't be punished until the Hufflepuff Head knew the whole story off everyone who was present at the time. But if she did find that Permia to be the main culprit, the one who had started all the animosity, then the Hufflepuff house would shake tonight. Points would be deducted and the whole Hufflepuff student body would hear her words in the common room first thing tomorrow morning.
"No, Professor! You have to hear me out!" Permia Monks pleaded.
"And I said no, Miss Monks!" The Hufflepuff mistress firmly stated. But Permia wouldn't have it, she knew she was right; she just had to prove it to the feisty Head of House. But, as it goes, Permia was saved, but not saved by any bell, but by circumstance that the Hufflepuff Prefect would be walking by. "Olivia -- take Permia Monks to her dorm. I will see her in the morning." The Prefect didn't argue or question her Head but did as she was told. Now Oliva was walking behind Permia in a march - and straight to the dorm they would go.
What had caused Florean to release her Badger grip was the person she saw sitting on the ledge staring down at the grounds. "Ahem," she said clearing her through, "s'cuse me?"
