Nicky lay in bed and closed his eyes. He was not really tired, just mentally exhausted. He was tense as well. He could feel it in his muscles as they tensed and spasmed. He took some relaxing, meditative breaths, willing his body and mind to relax. He felt his body relax, as he started to feel more at ease. He kept his eyes closed.
-I miss Romania- He thought glumly. Even though Lexi had told him to think positive, he could not help but to be more than just a little homesick.
He knew he could never be able to go back, especially after the incident with Viktor. Going back now would surely mean a death sentence for him. Nicky slowly opened his eyes again as he remembered that night. He mentally shook himself. He did not want to remember what had happened between him and Viktor that night. He still had not gotten over it, and it was bad enough that he revisited that night in his dreams, when he did finally go to sleep.
Nicky closed his eyes again, just resting them. He learned from an early age to not sleep. When he slept, the nightmares came. The only thing he would do was rest and meditate. Those were the only things that worked for him.
He turned onto his side restlessly. -Damn- he thought -I need to stop thinking so much-
Even as he mentally admonished himself, he let his mind wander again. He thought about what he was going to do for his next class, and about the noises he had heard earlier in the dungeons. As he was lost in his own thoughts, a black cat the size of a panther jumped onto the bed and curled up on Nykolas' side. Nicky smiled to himself and started to pet the cat.
"Goodnight, Bast," Nicky said sleepily, before finally falling asleep for the first time in three days.
