What is with this Fog?[Main Plot][Finished]

Adrian was tired and walking around a bit slowly. She wore a dress of light greens and yellows with traces of a light purple that matched a waist belt and worse plain black flats upon her petite feet. She wore a thin pink coat over that matched but didn't at the same time but it was one of the first coats she picked up when she realized it was rather cold for the schools halls today. Her hair curled around her face in long locks of golden sunshine and her eyes held dark circles of longing for sleep.

She wanted to check around the school to see how things were going on between the classes and students and was enjoying the stroll along the corridors till she realized just how tired she was. Way too much thinking and reading lately trying to figure out the issues the school was apparently under. She had finally found some head way with finding the old headmistress.

She passed up and down each hallway as the day went on till it was way past dinner time. A few students here and there were still strolling on and she smiled at them and pointed for them to move on to their dormitories. Usually she didn't mind too much of them sneaking around at night considering she did it a great deal herself as a student but with the issues as of late she didn't feel that it was as safe for them to be wondering around aimlessly.

She came along a dark corridor going back down towards the great hall, to check the last of the dinner wanderers, one hallway she didn't much like at night but from the distance the great hall lite up brightly and shown as a light to follow towards. As she grew closer to her goal she saw the misty white fog start to develop around her. The cold misty air breathed along her legs and nipped at her neck, making her tug at her pink coat bring it up around her shoulders more tightly. She took out her wand from her inner coat and thought Lumos as a small bright light flared from the tip of her wand. She moved it around to see if she could see any source and of course she could not. She sighed from sadness of not being able to do more than she could. She spoke to no one in-particular. "Show yourself already!" She spoke softly knowing the answer probably wouldn't just show up but frustration was starting to take the better side of her.

Todd and some of the other spirits that had been left to die, rot, and become poor lost souls one hundred and thirty years ago had finally found their way out of the dungeon they had been left in. Now they were out, and they were planning on making themselves known, and some of them planned on taking some of the living out. It was only fair in their sick and twisted little minds. Their lives had been taken away from them at an early point in their young lives so would some others. They hadn't even known why they had been taken and put where they had been placed.

When Todd saw the woman, he was thinking was the headmistress wondering the halls he wrapped her with his body best he could. None of them just yet had figured out how to materialize to the humans. They could only be seen by each other in their corporeal forms as of yet. The best they could do right now was form a cold, biting mist along the flooring, and around the people's feet. The blond looked nice, but it didn't matter to him, as far as he was concerned all humans had left him and his friends to die. He hated them all. His eyes glared up from the floor at her, not that she could tell the difference. He let his anger, hate, and malice leak into the fog, and as she said, 'Show yourself, already!' His fingers gripped one of her ankles. She would feel long, skinny fingers gripping at her ankle, tightening. It felt good, he didn't know what he was doing, but he had her. He was actually doing more then just hanging around her ankles. He had a hold of her.

From the fog by her feet, Adrian would briefly see a hand in the mist gripping at her, squeezing, painfully for a brief moment, and then turn back into just the cold, biting mist. Todd moaned and growled in frustration that he couldn't keep up the pressure, couldn't hurt her like he had been hurt. They should all die was his thoughts. They let them die, they hadn't cared about them. Another growl escaped the young teen ghost, this one would be heard rumbling around Adrian as the mist surrounded her. A pure sound of anger, misery, and frustration moving up and down her body and into her ears.

Adrian sighed as she kept walking along with her wand pointed in any direction that frightened her. She had the brains of a Ravenclaw that she was but when it came to bravery...she was still working on that. She would do anything for the students of Hogwarts including overcoming fears to protect them, but that didn't mean she wasn't scared. Scared of being fired for whatever reason and also scared of just real life horrors including this fog.

As she fog wrapped itself around her, the cold chilling mist froze her to her core making it so much colder than it already was. She shook her body trying to make the fog stop wrapping around her. Her feet felt a tug as she jumped and looked down at her feet she saw small long thin white gleams of what she swore was fingers. "What tha..." She said as she swarm in circles trying to see if she saw anything else. Her angles felt a tight embrace as if something was grasping at her feet. She yelped a small sound from her small voice box and pointed her wand brightly towards her feet. "Wha.. what are you?" She asked as if it was going to answer.

She heard a sound of possibly moan or shriek. Something that didn't sound happy at all. She gasped and tried to keep herself from trembling as she felt her body already terrified of whatever it was. "Please.. " she said not completely sure of what it was she was saying please for... she just wanted some answers, any answers. The sounds sounded mad and frustrated but she didn't understand. They echoed down the hall around her in the silent corridor. She looked around to see if anyone at all was around hoping for a roaming student or a late night walking Professor and saw no one. She felt even more frightened being here with this all alone.

Eva was on patrol manning the halls of Hogwarts. Security had been upped since all the weird happenings. Trying to keep things from the kids was hard, and the school didn't want a full on panic. She was just rounding the corner when she saw that weird mist around Adrian. She didn't know what to do, but when she saw the weird hand looking thing grabbing at her ankle. She gasped, got out her wand, but didn't know what to do. If she fired something at the mist it might hurt Adrian too. "Adrian, are you alright?" She asked in a low voice running up to her to get to her. Her eyes were wide, and her long curly hair flew out as she sped to the headmistress. "What is going on, its getting worse isn't it?" She asked.

She was in the mist now too, and the sound that was coming from it was unnerving her. It was a low rumbling growl, with a mournful moaning in it too. It made her want to cry it seemed so sad, and in pain. "What do you want?" She also spoke to the mist. The mist just swirled around the both of them as if it was trying to do something. What it was would be the frightening part. Both women standing back to back wands out. Eva hoped that no student would come upon this. "Do you know of any spell that might help us here?" She whispered to Adrian.

The mist continued to swirl as Todd got more and more agitated, all he wanted to do is hurt these people. All he wanted to do was have them feel what he felt when he was stuck with no food, no light, and wondering what he had done along with the other twelve kids. The cold around their legs would get colder as he generated more energy, it would feel like freezing water being dumped on their feet. He continued to growl and moan in his frustration. He was hoping he could grab them both again. Grab them and scratch them anything the relieve the pain and agony he felt. He wasn't always like this. He hadn't been a mean kid, he was brave, precocious, and maybe a bit mischievous, but he was never mean, not like now. He was filled with hate, because of what had happened to him and his mates in their brick cell. He wanted to kill, He wanted to hurt, and he wanted to maim.

The mist continued to swirl around and around their ankles until finally somehow it took shape. It started to become something that was standing, something that started to look like a young boy. It was a misty sort of view of a boy not quite a full shape, but one could tell that it was a young boy. He looked out with malice in his translucent eyes. He looked like he tried to talk, but nothing came out, which made the young apparition even more angry, and he whooshed into them setting into both woman's body a deep chill to their very bones. He did it again dive bombing them as a cloudy form not like the ghost they were used to seeing but one that wasn't strong enough yet to be completely corporeal. It opened up its mouth and a terrible moan came out of him, and then soft hissed words, "Die... die like you let me die..." Then just like had happened with Adrian with her ankles he faded back down to mist.

Adrian heard footsteps running towards her and she jumped and swirled around to see a Professor coming her way. Her heart missed a beat but she was relieved to not be along with this mist now. She heard her yell out to her if she was okay. "Um.. Yeah. I'm okay.. just.. yeah." Adrian was trying to keep herself together and not fall apart in front of anyone especially the misty mystery in front of them. As she asked if it was getting worse Adrian shook her head to say no but wasn't sure if that was the right answer. "I don't know... I hope not... but.. but.. I'm afraid it might be." She said with a gulp of air. She pointed her wand around them, above and below and all around and didn't see anything. "Do yous see anything?" Adrian asked still trying to figure out where all this fog was coming from.

The cold mist along their ankles started to get colder and become almost like freezing. A pool of water it almost felt like ice. She moved her feet to make sure they were not trapped, as the were not but the cold deadened her feet so cold. She shivered and wrapped her arms around herself as she tried to make the coat become warmer than it already was. "I don't know what spells would be any use against fog other than maybe Lumos... and it doesn't work..." She said with her voice a little horse of fear. Her breath was shaking from fear and of the cold. "Does it seem like it's getting colder or is it just me?" She asked afraid of knowing the answer as either.

Suddenly the fog seemed to gather in front of them and seemed to take the form of something. At first she wasn't sure what it is but then she swore she saw eyes and a mouth... it was a boy. It came at them and ran into them. The cold of the fog sweeping through them, leaving Adrian gasping for air as if she was drowning in cold icy water. As it spoke to them, she tried to recognize the words half listening and half listening to her inside voice that was telling her to run like hell. But she stood her ground as calming and as strong as she could. Die... die like you let me die... the voice echoed and she realized finally what it said. Her heart leaped even more as she realized what it was... "It's... it's a ghost." She said to Eva. "It's no normal ghost..." she said mostly to herself but softly spoken she was sure she could still be heard.

As she thought about what it said she realized it had to be one of the students from all those years ago. It just had to be... they were free from where they had been taken. "Please... we want to help you!" She said suddenly not really thinking before she spoke. Tears were starting to form in her tear ducks for she couldn't believe it was a boy. Just small innocent at one time boy. To hear the sounds that escaped him, to hear the pain and frustration she could understand how he felt. To be taken and left to die somewhere in this school made her heart break into pieces. "Please, let us help you!" She said again to the now fog that was hanging at their ankles once more. She swooped around in circles seeing if she could see the boy after he had ran at them again, with the cold, so cold, feeling dampening within her.

Eva was wondering now why she had decided she was the brave one running to Adrian's assistance. She was an alumni Ravenclaw too, and while she wasn't a nervous nilly, she still was prone to get scared, and this was terrifying her. Especially when her hope that maybe Adrian knew of a spell that she didn't was slowly fading and their was nothing they could do to combat whatever this mist? Fog? Whatever it was. Eva frowned when she heard Adrian say that things might be getting worse with these strange happenings going on in Hogwarts. This didn't bode well. "No, I don't see a thing," She answered her question. She had already had her wand tip lighted for being able to see in some of the more darker corridors, so she too was waving her wand around to see anything too.

As the mist swirled around them, she started to get colder and colder. It felt like she had just had dunked her feet in a ice bath. She moved her feet back and forth and unlike Adrian who had brought down with her a heavy coat, Eva had on just one of her thicker sweaters, and a light cloak on. She shivered, her teeth starting to chatter. She wanted to move away from the mist, but it seemed to follow her where she stepped as it swirled around her. "Nnnnoooo, IIItts... definatellly, Coolllder..." She shattered out, as she placed her arms around her body.

Then her eyes went wide as whatever was enveloping them at their feet seemed to start to take a very vague, foggy, misty appearance. It looked like a young boy, and he looked very angry, hateful even. She shivered again, but this time it wasn't all because of the cold. The malice that stared out of this poor creature's? Ghost's? Spirit's? She didn't know what it was. It didn't seem like Peeves the Poltergeist, but again not like any of their resident ghosts either. Then it looked like it tried to say something and frustrated zoomed into them and the cold that knifed into her was like nothing she had ever felt before it chilled her to her very soul almost. She wasn't sure if she would ever warm up from this it almost took her breath away it was so cold. Like plunging into freezing water, drowning. The apparition flew into them one more time, and then as if she didn't feel chilled to her very bones, soul even, what came hissing out of the boy sent even more chills down her. He wanted them to die. He wanted whatever that happened to him to happen to them. He seemed to what revenge. This definitely was not good.

She vaguely heard what Adrian had said about it not being a normal ghost. She had to agree. She didn't think so either. This child was filled with hate, and she had to think that somehow his death process had made him very bitter, and hateful. "Do you have any clues what happened, or who this young boy may be?" She asked softly. Wondering if the thing? Child? Spirit? Ghost? What would you call it? Could hear them. If so how much did he understand? She couldn't know. Adrain started to tell the spirit that she wanted to help. Eva was unsure if that would help at this point. However, many years this young ghost had been dead, it had amassed a good bit of anger, malice, and bitterness. "What do we do now?" She whispered.

Adrian stepped side to side in cirlces trying to see within the fog but it was too thick and heavy to see the ground below. "Oh bugger... I just don't have the fainest idea what this is." Adrian said truthfully. She had read about students disappearing and what not before and of the fog being a pressing matter before but nothing of what it was. Nothing to help now in this corridor with them now seeming to be stuck in the middle of it. She was still holding back just panicking and running away but now that a Professor was here there was no way to get cold feet and run away now, plus she really needed to figure this out before it got too much worse.

"Well, last time we tried Lumos towards the fog it grew thicker and heavier, I don't think that spell will be a very good idea right now." Adrian spoke up to start helping with some sort of suggestion to what spell could help them. She pointed her wand towards the fog and used the spell "Deprimo" to try to swirl the fog away with a small current of a wind. The fog just swirled up around them much to not the liking of which she was shooting for. "Well, that doesn't work...." Adrian added to her imaginary list of spells to cross off.

As the women both stood there frozen within the cold cold icy mist, she heard Eva starting to chatter her teeth together. She turned to her and put her left free arm around her. "It's gonna be okkayy." Adrian stuttered hoping that she wasn't lying. The cold swirled around them causing every part of their beings to turn such an icy cold. She felt like she was standing naked outside in a blizzard and had many plans for many more coats to buy and many hot baths to take in if she escaped from this. If we escape from this... she thought again and panic seemed to fill her. Must not think like that. she retorted inside her mind to herself. She tried to stay positive but their very souls seemed to be wanting to escape with the fog below them. The sounds coming from the thing was enough to drive the most sane person into an asylum. She felt the pain the boy felt and understood but just didn't know what to do.

As Eva asked if she knew what had happened or who the boy is she shook her head yes but replied she probably couldn't hear that, and answered wryly, "Yes..." She said sadly and coldly. She paused for a moment trying to re-remember how to breath and gulped down a breath of air. After taking a moment to think if she should really reveal what she knew, she decided to tell her since they were apparently trapped within it anyways, she continued on with a shaky voice, "About one hundred and thirty years ago 12 students went missing inside the school... it was never learned what happened to them. By the looks of this boys pain and of the same appearances, I think he was possibly one of them..." Adrian tried to think of the students names that went missing. She had read over it so many times yet for the life of her now she couldn't remember even one name. It was odd that 130 years later they would finally show up, only thought there was they didn't know how possibly to get out?

She looked around nervously trying to see if the boy was coming back into human shape or continuing to be a foggy mess. Then some of the names came to her, she started to call out the names to see if any of them seemed to ring any kind of bells, "Their names were: Adam Paddock, James Addison, Linda Jones, Sarah O'Hara, and, um... Paul Dalton, a John something... Oh there was a few more if I can remember." Flashes of news clippings and old journal entries ran through her mind as she tried to picture the names she had seen. She closed her eyes as she though hoping that it might help. "Tim Taylor, Lesily Tates, Cady Mane, and oh yes, Brock Dale, Sam Sott.... I know there was one more. Ohhh what was the name!" She cried in frustration since none of the names seem to cause the fog to seem any more caring than before. "Oh yes, Todd Lewis." She said happily excited for actually remembering all the names. She had spent so many hours alone in her office going over and over it all so many times that she almost felt like she knew each of them.

Todd swirled around the two women, mournful moaning coming from his disembodied soul. He wanted to torment these to women as long as he could but he could tell his strength was waning. He seemed to have used most of his energy in doing that form that he had made a while ago. He poured out all his coldness into the two women, making them chilled, and frozen, just like he was. Frozen in time, frozen in the heart, and frozen in his soul. They were talking, doing spells, the one spell only seemed to make him move faster, and go up their bodies. It also gave him a bit more energy too, but not a lot. He was going to have to dissipate soon, he knew. He growled, but enjoyed the feeling of fear, and frustration that seeped down to him from them. He liked watching them afraid not knowing what he could do, if he could really hurt them or not. He wished he could, but the truth was he couldn't. He let out another angry growl, low and as deep as his fifteen year old voice could make.

Then Adrian started saying names, familiar names the names he had died with, names she had no right to say. They were his friends, he had died with them trapped, starving, in the dark, dirty, and alone except for themselves. He screamed, and swirled faster around them, the mist closing in around them like it wanted to grip them, trip them, or tie them up. A ghastly moaning hiss came from the ground, "You have nooo riiiighhhttt!!!" It was an echo all around them through them. Then she said his name last, as if he was the forgotten one, and he screeched a load high pitched scream, and in them his anger spurred deep in them a painful cold that would give them a splitting headache like a brain freeze for two seconds. "YOU KNOW MY NAME!!!" It roared.... Then it fell to the ground and through the floor down to where ever it came from before it had surrounded them. His energy had been completely drained from managing the scream and to yell what he had at the end.

He went back to the others, he was angry, angrier then he had ever been. They knew too much, something had to be done. They knew their names, knew about what had happened to them. His mind never grasping the thought that they might help them, help free them into the light. He was to deep in the darkness of whatever heart he still had. All he wanted was to hurt those that had hurt him, and as far as his thoughts were concerned they were anyone that was in Hogwarts.

Eva was chilled to the bone and so unnerved she couldn't even think. She was trying to come out with some spell some sort of help. Oh for bloody sake your a Ravenclaw for Merlin Sake act like it!! She screamed instead in her addled head. Finally she thought of something but she doubted it would work either, as this was semi-sentient? "Repello phasmatis!" She hoped it would work, but it only made the mist colder around their feet which she definitely didn't need she already felt like a human popsicle and wondered if she would ever get warm again. She wanted at this moment to be in some place that was blazing hot, and she still didn't think she would be warm.

Adrain began telling her about the twelve children that went missing one hundred and thirty years ago, and she mentally agreed that, that would probably make her mad too. She shook her head. "That's terrible, and no one ever figured it out? Did they try even?" She asked. Then it seemed Adrian had the need to try to remember the children's names, which wasn't a half bad idea. She stayed quiet as to let her think. However when she finally did start to recall them it only made the misty entity even more angry and tighten around their legs with his cold grasp. Eva hated being made to feel like she was restrained in any way without her permission anyway, and she started to really freak out then. She had to bite her lip hard in order to not scream. It wouldn't look good to scream and freak out in front of the headmistress when she was supposed to be able to keep her head on straight to protect the kids in the castle.

Adrian had finally got through most of the names and it wasn't helping the mist at all, in fact he was now screaming and she hoped that none of the kids heard it and woke up to investigate. She covered her ears from the noise it bounced around against the halls, and back at them. Finally Adrain seemed to get to the last name and this really freaked the little misty booger of a spirit as he screamed even louder and a chiller ran from her feet all the way up to her spine hitting her brain like an ice cream she had eaten to fast and she bent over grabbing her head. "OH JESUS CHRIST MOTHER OF MARY!" She yelled in agony as it ripped through her head and ached. It was gone within minutes but the after effects of the pain still lingered slightly. However, after that the mists finally receded down, and away from them. She flicked her wand around in amazement. She looked over at Adrian with wide, frightened, pained eyes. She was so so still, yet she couldn't move from her spot and she started to shake from head to toe. She placed a hand on her head, and her other hand on her bent knees. She tried to hold back her tears, but now that it was over it was really hard not to break down.

Adrian felt the cold under them start to numb her feet. At this moment she wished she wore tennis shoes a lot more often then heels, but heels were just so much more fashionable and, well, shoes didn't go with half the outfits she ever wore. As Eva tried to think of spells herself, she tried one that made the fog even colder than it already was. "This is ridiculous." Adrian announced with frustration. "How is it that fog can debate us?" She asked to Eva, herself, an the quite hallways. She was a rather calm person almost all the time but lately everything was pushing her to the limits of pure raw frustration only making her more tired and more eager for sleep.

As she told her about what she knew, she asked if they tried to find them. Adrian hung her head low trying not to cry as she had already been fighting that emotion already with the sounds of the growls and haunting pain floating around them. "I don't know. I don't think so. Apparently the Ministry didn't do anything and the headmistress of the time was fired. The children were never found." She sighed in sadness of those events. As she started to recite the children's names the fog apparently didn't seem to like it. Which she found as a clue that she was probably right about what the fog was. A ghost trying to be a ghost? That didn't make much sense, why did it not have a full 'ghost' form? She decided that would be a though to ponder on later after this ended... hopefully it was going to end. The fog hissed and yelled at them as she kept going on with the names. Her voice becoming horse and screeched with fear as she continued.

As she finally found the last name, it struck a cord with the fog. The voice bellowed at them for knowing his name with such a high pitch screen it made her head seize with pain. How can something have such a tone? The cold seemed to creep up them in such a chilly misty, she knew she would be wearing a jacket for the next several weeks even if it was 100 degrees outside. As her head hurt with the sound, her vision fluttered in a blur. "You can say that again," Adrian agreed.

And just like that, the fog seemed to fall away from them and back down until it finally was gone. But the cold still seemed to crawl up her even if it was gone. Adrian stood staring straight ahead not looking away from her dazed look. She was tired, so tired. She was exhausted mentally and physically. She didn't know what to do or how to stop this angry spirit especially since she understood the pain and the hate it was unable to control towards them. It wasn't them that did it but it was close enough in its eyes that it made her finally want to cry. Just cry until she fell asleep even if it was right here in this hallway. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly thinking over and over that she would not cry. But one little tear slide down her cheek silently.

She just stared straight off into space still unsure if she could even move, to afraid to even try. She had been so brave not to run away like a first year in panic over a troll sighting but she was now allowed for a second to feel afraid. She knew the professor next to her had went through the same thing but it was still so shocking, so real. To believe something so horrible had happened here in this so perfect school. But where and how did it happen in the first place? Is what did this still here? It was all questions she needed answers to and had no idea where to start to find them.

She finally turned after many moments of no movement and no sound, turned to stare emotionless at the Professor with one wet cheek, "I think it's time everyone knew what's going on... at least staff. And the ministry might need to be contacted... oh but my job." Adrian frowned deeply in thought of possibly losing her job especially since she had kept this from the Ministry for so long already. Half the school year was already gone and this started on the first day, and she never spoke a word of it to the Ministry. She sighed once again not knowing what to do and another tear slide down the other cheek in unison.

Eva just stood there shivering, her teeth still chattering, and eyes wide. Like Adrain she too was having a hard time holding back her tears too. They fell slowly down her cheeks, and it seemed she had tried during the whole ordeal to keep her feet so glued to where she was that now much like the young head mistress she couldn't really move either. Now that it was over her mind wanted to shove it away say it didn't happen, but it had. She had heard that terrible sound coming from that mist, she did feel that cold hatred wrap her body and still was lingering now. She was so cold, and now that it was all over all she could think of was the closest male that she knew right now at the school. That was Geordi. She just wanted to first find the warmest thing she owned to put on, and go cry with Geordi.

Finally she slowly turned toward Adrain and saw that she was just as upset, scared and worried as she was. That was a great relief in itself and that fact alone made the tears that had been flowing slowly come down faster, still they were silent just like Adrain's were. "That did just happen didn't it?" She finally said in a sorta far away and stupid way, but she was trying to grasp it all and her mind wanted to push it away so badly. Then she said, "Well, if they were left to die, no one even caring..." She swallowed hard her voice thick from her tears and emotions. "Then even though I don't like it, and it scares me to death I can understand the spirits anger. Do you really think it could kill anyone?" Somehow she didn't think so, it seemed a weak spirit why she couldn't figure that out, but she could look into it.

Eva nodded her head when Adrain said speaking to at least staff about this. "Yes, I think we need to tell everyone about it, maybe not the mass of students, at least not yet. But the professors, head boy and girl, and maybe the prefects?" She pinched her lips thinking, trying to ignore the biting chill that still was distracting her from her thoughts. She shivered some more wrapping her arms around her body she finally said, "I don't think you should tell the ministry, not just because of your job, but they didn't do anything about it the first time, why would they do anything now? I think we need to figure lost of it out on our own, and only tell the ministry when they need to know." Eva didn't always trust the ministry much. There were times when she was younger too that they hide, denied, and covered up lots of things that they should have been aware of, stopped, and investigated long before they did. However, she kept these thoughts away from the general public because it was useless really to talk about. The government would always be such, slightly slimy.

[Viola Grey]

The animals in the cages of the Transfiguration classroom had been shrieking and jumping all day and it was driving Viola’s nerves to the very end. She couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them and had had to sedate all of them, regretfully. Annoyed, and slightly sad she made the decision to leave the classroom and wander through the halls of the school, grabbing her sweater as she went, noticing that it was unusually quiet. She thought perhaps she should go and talk to the Care of Magical Creatures Professor, Eva, for some advice on what to do with all her animals. Heading up the staircase from the Great Hall towards the teacher’s lounge she paused.

The strange fog was hovering at the corner of her eye. She brushed her long strawberry blonde hair from her face and pulled the light pink cardigan close to her. She picked up her pace and followed the fog, further down the corridor it was thick, swirling closely and filling the entire corridor, almost blocking the light from outside, casting its own eerie glow over the stone walls. There were no people in the paintings and no people as far as she could see, not that she could really see much.

Viola lit her wand and flicked it and a large silvery stallion erupted, cantering into the fog but dissolving strangely as she had seen no patronus do before. Slightly concerned she began to make her way through the fog. It was hard to see where she was going and she couldn’t help but feel sadness deep within her but she pulled herself together, forcing herself to stop the tears that she could feel at the corner of her eyes. She pulled the cardigan closer to her as the fog began to chill her to her bones. She felt her teeth chatter and she pushed forward.

Then something appeared out of nowhere, the figure of a boy, she couldn’t see a face so she assumed she was looking at the back of his head. He was insubstantial, perhaps a creation of the fog? Or was it this figure that created the fog? It seemed to yell at someone that she couldn’t see and then disappeared. Viola stood rooted to the spot, shaking at what she had just seen. Things in Hogwarts were definitely not right. She heard some voice and continued, blindly through the fog.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” She called.

Eva turned when she thought she heard a voice. The fog had just started to dissipate and dissolve away into the floor when she heard it. It must have been another professor. It sounded like it might be Professor Grey, the transfiguration teacher. As the mist started to go away and let more sight be able to be seen she saw that not too far off was indeed Professor Grey. Eva waved her over once the fog was completely gone, and said, "Did you see any of that?" Her eyes were wide, and she could clearly be seen as being shaken by the experience.

Miss Grey had just seen the tail end, but any experience with this entity Eva was sure to leave a person uneasy and a bit frightened. She smiled trying to look brave for both woman. "I think we need to at least tell some of the other professors and maybe the head girl and boy?" She wasn't sure she wouldn't know the slightest about how to go about running a school, but that would probably be what she would do. The ministry? She wasn't sure about, even though she had once worked there she knew that sometimes the ministry wasn't the right place to go first off. Like all governmental places they always liked to cover themselves first, even if it meant citizens might get the short end of that stick. Obviously that was what had happened with this situation that now seemed to be presenting itself now. They seemed to be paying for some decisions that others had made before they were even born.

Viola nodded and pulled her cardigan much tighter, still feeling the cold even as the fog was disappearing. “Yes I saw that. I think frightening is probably not the best word for it.” She sighed and agreed with Eva and Adrian. “The other professors will need to know. Also the Head Boy and Girl, but I don’t think we should tell any more students than that. The last thing we need is students getting involved and thinking that they can take on whatever this is. It would lead to more trouble.”

Viola glanced around the corridor, trying to see if there was anything else lurking in the now disappearing fog, but there was nothing. She, Eva and Adrian were alone. She felt another chill go down her spine but disguised it as having to rub the back of her neck and turned back to her two companions. She had her doubts about telling the Ministry though and she could tell that Eva did too.

“Perhaps we should wait to tell the Ministry, see what happens, if it gets worse or if we can manage it ourselves.” She said.
