Ben is a pretty average eleven year old. He is slight with out too much muscle on him. He keeps himself well groomed with his hair barely growing more than a half inch before he gets it cut. He takes pride in his appearance, probably more than a boy should. He might be labeled as metrosexual, but he doesn't think so. He is taller than most eleven year old boys, which accentuates his skinny figure. He thought this figure would help him on the quidditch field, but he learned disastrously that he was not meant for quidditch. He has long fingers, almost goblin like, that he inherited from his mother's side of the family. His nose is longer and larger than normal, which comes from his dad's side of the family.
Ben usually toes the line as far as dressing goes. He wears the Hogwarts uniform to class and most of the time outside of class as well. If he isn't wearing his uniform, then he is sporting his house colors in a button down oxford type shirt and either khaki or navy blue slacks. He thinks it looks good, but is still a little self concious.

Ben was born in Kent to an independent book seller and his wife. They lived in an almost all magic neigborhood, well outside the city limits to avoid detection. He was the third and last in line of the Mullis clan. His older siblings were six years older than him.
He had a normal childhood for someone born in a wizarding family. He played quidditch growing up with the neighborhood children, he was usually picked last for his team though. He fought with his big brother more than his sister. They were very close growing up as his parents worked too much. Even when the store was closed they were there going over the money or sorting the mishandled books. While his siblings were off at school, Ben continued the tradition of working in the store with mom and pop. He sorted books and developed his love of reading from the books his parents let him take home.
He discovered his magic at the age of nine and a half, which is a little late for most wizards, but he is a late bloomer. When he was putting a large book on the bottom shelf of a case, he heard a rumbling and looked up quickly. He saw the books from the top two shelves tumbling down. He squished his eyes shut, waiting for impact. After a minute or so he opened his eyes, and saw that none of the books had hit him, but were lying in a circle around him. His dad came and saw this. They threw a party for him that evening. At that moment, Ben knew his parents were proud of him.
He got his letter from Hogwarts, and was so excited. He would get to go to school, just like his big brother and sister. He arrived and was sorted. He made it into the house his family had been in for generations. His parents sent him a letter expressing their pride, but warned him to continue to succeed. Some of his neighborhood friends made it in the same house. He was extremely happy, but then realized how hard magic actually was. He hopes that he'll do well.

Ben was walking down the hall, books in hand. He was struggling a little under their weight. He shifted uncomfortably. His leather bag was cutting into his shoulder. It too was filled with notebooks and text books. He was headed to the library, per his usual routine, when he saw a group of Slytherin sixth years, huddled around an object. Remembering his father's odd letter, he moved over to the other side of the hall way, wanting nothing to do with the strange group. He turned suddenly when he heard one of them call out his name.
"What do you want, Harold?" he said warily. He waited for the response, his free hand drifting almost unconsiously to the inside of his robes where he kept his wand. He had had too many encounters like this before.
