So I am writing this cause I need to vent a little bit. There arent hardly any other Westerners here to vent with. So I thought this would be good to do it since you all kind of know me and such Plus I loves ya'll lol.
China is such an amazing country! Beijing is really beautiful too, but the pollution is kind of horrible. My acne is breaking out a little more than it did at home. At home, maybe hardly any breakouts, but here... Omg.... its like every day I see a new breakout!
Also, if you come to China to stay for a while, make sure you bring your own cover up!! They do not have my shade! All the girls here love being white, like pale hahaha. I have a darker complection and it took me like.... 20mins to communicate with the sales lady (Language barrier is such a bitch! xD) and I kept telling her darker, but she handed me the darkest one she had and I thought it was good. I brought it home and put it on the next morning... I looked like a ghost! hahaha
Next thing, the school I am teaching at is AMAZING too. The kids are sooo cute!! I cannot understand a word they are saying, but they are just cute. My afternoon class loves to sing and dance to the "Hokey Pokey" hahaha. Oh and I had a lovely birthday! Papa and Mama (my host parents) they made me a birthday breakfast and dinner. Since they hardly speak any English, they wrote on a piece of note paper, "We wish you a Happy Birthday! Eat ChangShouMain meaning YuChangShou." I have no idea what the last part meant, but I thought it was really thoughtful and they wrote it in Chinese too. So I am keeping that one for sure haha.
They celebrate Women's Day here. I dont think we do in America... but anyways, there is a fashion show put on and most of the schools participate in it. There was these beautiful ladies that like had on the traditional Chinese dresses... I didnt bring my camera and wished that I had. Then there was the Beijing (or Chinese) Opera guys there... when I looked at them, I was like "Oh look at those pretty girls!" Napolean (He is another English teacher who is from France and is 57yrs old) He looked at me and goes "Those arent ladies, those are men." My mouth dropped and I could not believe it. I really thought they were ladies.
So here is the down... I put on a bright colored shirt for the fashion show and took off my jacket. The Second in Command Head Teacher looked at me, then at my body and made a hand gesture... meaning calling me fat... I was really depressed after that. Cause 95% of the people here are skinny. And then they made me and Rebecca (a friend who is staying at my school for a while until hers opens) wear a jacket vest thing. Rebecca thinks that it cause they were calling us fat... which Rebecca is not fat. So anyways, Rebecca was sitting there saying that she can zip up her jacket (That these two Chinese girls let us barrow for the Fashion show) and Napolean said that it was time for me to lose weight... Rebecca laughed and told him that it was rude for him to say that to me. I was again, deperessed. But then later on he came up and apologized to me. Saying that he saw me as a daughter and he didnt mean to offend me. I smiled and said that I forgave him. Then he said that I had pretty eyes haha.
Which is funny about eyes. Whoever I run into, everyone tells me how pretty my eyes are. They are so big and bright. That makes me feel so much better cause my eyes are my most favorite feature on my body and most noticible (So concieded, I know and sorry haha)
So yeah.... I think that is everything I wanted to add.... OH!! Also..... the girl interns gave me a makeover.... I had to wear a short mini sweater dress with tights and high heel boots.... Apparently when I got back from changing, all the girls whisteled and wooted at me haha. I was so embarrassed that my face turned red hahaha!!
Now that is everything. Sorry if it was really long!! I just want to vent was all
