Sarina didn’t usually go to the Ministry. She wasn’t involved in politics and she didn’t care for what was going on. It just felt like people were going to catch her in the act of something, somehow. And she felt as if everyone around knew about how she killed her sister. It was creepy thinking that something was watching her through the walls. Therefore, she hated the Ministry. But there was a reason she wanted to go and she kept agonizing over it. There was something about that Benson that bothered her. It made her wonder about him. She lay back on her bed in the common room, thinking about whether to head out to the Ministry or not. It wasn’t a matter of how to sneak out or whether to sneak out. There were plenty enough ways to get out of Hogwarts and sneaking out was better than staying in the school. It was a matter of why she wanted to go to the Ministry of all places and see this Benson – why it was worth it to go see him.
In the end, she just decided to go. There was no use on trying to figure herself out. She always did what she wanted to do and today was no exception. She would go find him and talk to him. She had a liable reason. He said he would talk to her about figuring out her past or dealing with it. She didn’t know about that. Her past wasn’t a horrid one per say. Her father had been cruel and done all sorts of things to them, but it was usually to make them into the mold of pureblood he wanted them to be. He wanted them to be tough and act on their own with pride in their family and to take out those in their way. She admired her father for that.
But it sounded like Benson had accused her of having an unhappy childhood. She didn’t know whether she could say that. Some of the things that had happened in the past did give her unhappy pangs. She knew her history was very messy and she knew that she could never tell him about her twin’s death. No, that would have to be kept to herself.
She didn’t know whether she was going there to see him, to figure out her past or because she was into self torture. Whatever the reason, she found herself getting up, throwing on an outfit and throwing a dark cloak over herself. She left the castle through as secret passage that entered into Hogsmeade and apparated to the shabby telephone booth that was the entrance to the Ministry of Magic. She punched in the code stated her name and explained that she was going to visit Benson Niall about a matter. She grabbed her silver badge and descended below in the both. This was the worst. She hated going below ground. It was horrid knowing that you were nowhere near easy access to fresh air.
She sighed and stepped out of the booth into the Atrium. She allowed security to weigh her wand resentfully, grabbed it and sped off towards the elevators. More levels to descend, she pressed level 2 for The Department of Magical Law Enforcement where she knew Auror Headquarters was and where Benson would be. She found herself getting unreasonably nervous. It was strange. Sarina never got nervous. She was confident, bold and stubborn but nervous? Never. It was an impossible emotion for a Darkwood, let alone Sarina Darkwood. But it was happening despite that. She got out of the elevator and, ignoring all the flying paper, walked down the hall. She asked for directions to Benson's office and, passing a whole bunch of Aurors that made her hair stand up on her arms, she ended up in front of his door. Nervously, she raised her hand and then hesitated. This was unbelievably stupid. Why was she here? She took a deep breath and knocked before she could change her mind.
