Nights like this, Starla couldn't sleep, she had no idea why. For a few weeks she can sleep all night, then a few weeks were she can't sleep at all, at times it was just a pain in her ass. She was wearing a pair of pj shorts and a small shirt with her hair up and no make up on, a lot of men say that's when she looks her best. But she thought differently, she always had to have at least some kind of make up on when she's out in public, it was lady-like to her. At least that's what her mom says, but hey, guess that's how it is when you grow up rich.
Sitting up in bed, she looked out her window, the sky was crystal clear, she wanted to open the window, but didn't want to wake her friends at the same time. So she slipped her feet into some slippers and headed off to the Astronomy Tower, just to get a good look at the stars. The night wasn't that cold actually, she was still in her pj's but didn't mind, who would be up here at night? Flicking her wand, she conjured up a fold out chair so she could lounge in. Sitting on the comfy chair, she let her loose, long, curly hair fall across the head rest as she looked up.
One thing that she loved about looking at the stars was thinking that they were fireflies off into the distance, dancing with their reflections on the black-purplish canvas that twinkled above them. At least that's what she thought they were when she was five, but that memory stuck to her like a diomond on a silver wedding band. She found her favorite constellation, Orian's belt, that was also her favorite name. If she ever had children, she would name her first son Orian, she wouldn't care if her future husband hated it, she carried the boy for nine months. She had the right to name him, thinking of that thought made her laugh.
As the stars twinkled above, she let the calm, cool air make her feel like she was the only one swimming the sea of fireflies that danced on that black-purple canvas.
