Adonia just got back into the common room from being in the library all day. There was so much work that she needed to do. She was surprised that she had finished it all. There was Charms, Mythology, DADA, Trans and Potions to get all done… and Divination also. That class was a little difficult cause you cant use books to even pass the class. Sure, it was all about the crystal balls, the tea leaves and even the palm readings… she didn’t know if the tarot cards counted, but since it was telling the future, it could be; but anyways, that was difficult.

Flopping onto the couch, Adonia’s face was in the pillow when she let out a big breath of air. After what had happened to her, Adonia felt a little more pressure. What happened was that she was kidnapped… escaped… left Hogwarts for a bit and came back. Her grades were perfect so they let her be in a 7th year and now she was the new Head Girl. It was pretty amazing. She didn’t think she would get it, but she had been dreaming to be Head Girl since her 4th year of Hogwarts. She was the Prefect for her House before she left, now she was the Head Girl. The classes were harder though, but Adonia didn’t mind because she liked to take on a challenge.

Turning around to lay on her back, Adonia grabbed her wand from her front pocket and pointed it to the fireplace, [black]”Incendio![/black] Flames started to dance around the logs that were shaped like a small house… but anyways, Adonia closed her eyes, trying to get some rest to calm her weary mind.

[Kayla Sommers]

Kayla walked down the corridor, heading towards the Ravenclaw common room. She had just come back from the room of requirement after spending the night with a boy whose name she had totally forgotten. Yes Kayla had not changed much except that she had fallen for Liam Skylark and now he has seemed to have disappeared, so at the moment Kayla was hurting. She missed him alot and plus him, Mikayla and her needed to sort out this love triangle situation they were in. So this was how Kayla dealt with pain, by sleeping around. Not a good way to deal with it she had to admit to herself, but atleast for a few hours she would forget how much pain she was in. But now the fun had ended her chest ached like a whole had been punched through it.

As she walked Kayla rubbed her chest slightly as if trying to numb the pain which didn't go away. Kayla had never felt this way before so she was having a hard time understanding it. Kayla stopped walking and leaned against the wall for a brief moment. Trying to get her head straight. "What the hell is wrong with me?" Said Kayla to herself. Sighing, Kayla pushed herself off of the wall and turned a corner, approaching the portrait hole for the Ravenclaw common room. After saying the password the portrait opened up and let her in. Dragging her feet slightly Kayla walked into the common room, which at the moment looked empty.

Well that was good. Kayla wanted to be on her own anyway. So she sighed softly and sat in a armchair that was near the window. It wasn't until she heard some mutter indendio and fire spurt from their wand igniting the fire place. Kayla jumped up with a slight scream, grabbing her wand. "Fucking hell give a girl a.....Adonia?" The fear immediately disappeared as she realised Adonia, her old best friend who she thought had died was laying on a couch not three feet infront of her. How could she have not noticed her.

Adonia didn’t hear anyone come in until she heard someone say a bad word, [black]”Hey, you cant…[/black] Looking to the girl, she noticed it was Kayla and that was when Adonia’s heart skipped a beat. Kayla was… is… her best friend and she had missed her so much the time she was gone. A lot of people thought she was dead since she had left a spell to make it look like she was dead. It was a Delusion spell. Making people see what they something false. But, she had missed Kayla for a long time.

Adonia had missed all of her friends. She hadn’t seen Katelynn nor Anabelle… but the person who she hadn’t seen and really really missed was Ethan. Her boyfriend… or ex… whatever she wanted to call him. When she was at her parents house, she kept wanting to write him letters, but she was scared that certain people would find out and try to come back to take her again. But her mother told her it was time to start going back… good thing she did.

Sitting up, Adonia looked to her best friend with a big smile on her face, [black]”Long time no see, huh?”[/black] She crossed her legs on the couch, looking to Kayla… she had seemed… different. Something was kind of off about her… but Adonia couldn’t put her finger on it, but something was different. Playing with her fingers, Adonia took a deep breath and let it out, looking to Kayla. [black]”How have you been? I hope you been ok.”[/black] She said with a small smile. It was kind of different talking to someone here at Hogwarts. Since she had been back, Adonia tried to avoid the conversation because a lot of people thought she was dead and they were shocked to see her there. Maybe a lot of them had questions about what had happened, but all Adonia knows now that she isn’t going to be traveling at night around the castle anymore… or maybe not even anywhere.

Kayla couldn't believe what she was seeing. Surely she be seeing things, or maybe Adonia is a ghost and came back to Hogwarts. But she didn't look like a ghost. Ghosts were see through and Adonia looked, well solid. Kayla had a rather confused and shocked look on her face as Adonia spoke, asking how she had been. Bloody hell Kayla did not know where to begin. "I thought you were.......dead." Said Kayla quietly, stepping forward a little. Kayla was not affraid, just extremely confused. Yes of course she was happy to see Adonia again. She had missed her alot and there were times when she wished she was there when she needed a friend to talk to. But for some reason and Kayla knew there was a good reason why Adonia wasn't there. Adonia was not the type of person to turn her back on a friend.

Swallowing, Kayla took in a deep breath and sat down next to Adonia, crossing one leg over the other. Adonia had not changed much, except maybe look a little older. Of course she was going to look older, no one ever aged backwards except maybe for Benjamin Button. Who was a fictional character. "What happened? Where did you go? Everyone thinks you were killed Adonia." Blurted Kayla all in one breath. She didn't mean to bombard Adonia with all those questions but she had just missed her so much. Kayla slumped back in the couch, resting her head back and closed her eyes. "Ergh this is a dream, I'm going to wake up in a minute because there is no way your here sitting next to me because your supposed to be dead." Said Kayla more to herself than to Adonia.

Ok, Kayla needed to calm down. Kayla stopped talking and took a deep breath. She shouldn't freak out. Even if Adonia was a ghost she wasn't going to hurt her. The two were inseparable when they were going to Hogwarts together. It usually involved Kayla skipping class and Adonia 'taking' her back, which never happened. They were friends so Adonia never got Kayla into trouble which Kayla loved her for. Kayla looked back at Adonia and smiled softly. "You really alive?" Said Kayla softly.

Hearing everything that Kayla had said to Adonia, she just put her head back, remembering to that horrible time. There was so much to say and there was so much to answer to her best friend, but where to start? Adonia couldn’t remember how she ended up there, but there was also a lot that she had been through. Adonia had nearly been trapped in that gosh awful cell for almost two months. With hardly anything to eat or drink. She had lost so much weight… nearly thirty pounds, maybe more. People can tell that she is even more thin than she had been before. When living at her parents, Adonia had put on maybe ten pounds, but that was it. So yes, she was really skinny.

Adonia looked to her best friend when she asked if she really was alive. With a tiny smile, Adonia nodded her head, [black]”Yes, I really am alive. If I was a ghost, I would be transparent and I don’t think I am a zombie, otherwise I would have eaten you by now.”[/black] There was a little laugh there, but it was kind of hallow. She knew that people thought she was dead. Walking around school was sometimes hard cause people would stare at her. But Adonia tried to make light of the conversation.

Kayla is Adonia’s best friend and so she thought that it was best to tell her what had happened. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, Adonia looked to Kayla. [black]”I will tell you what happened, but I don’t want you to repeat it to anyone. Its hard for me to even talk about it.”[/black] Looking down, she began to speak. [black]”First off, I cant remember how I got to the cell, but I do know that I wanted to go for a walk and I also had to talk to Professor Drakos about something… and then when I was walking down the hall, I was knocked out. I cannot remember who it was. I think whoever did it, erased my memory. Well, I woke up in a strange cell. I freaked out, let me tell you. Being all alone with hardly light, that’s freaky.”[/black] Adonia pulled her knees up to her chest and kept talking, [black]”I left my wand back in my room… which was stupid… but for a while, I was starting to lose it, go crazy. I would start talking to myself, get really depressed to the point where I tried to find stuff so I could kill myself.”[/black] Adonia cringed at that. Sure, it had seemed that she was the type of girl that wouldn’t kill herself, but being alone with no one and being trapped, that was the only solution. [black]”After that phase passed, I thought it would be best to try to learn wandless magic… and that was not easy either. I always kept messing up, hitting my hands on the walls. Nearly after what seemed like a lifetime, I finally got it. I think it was about another month… anyways, I remembered a spell where you can put illusions, to trick someone’s mind. I decided to trick whoever captured me to think I was dead. I chose that just incase they wanted to find me again. I opened the cell and ran away to my parents house. I didn’t get a good look at where I was cause I was too weak to even realize it, stupid I know. But once I reached my parents house, I collapsed at the door. I believe my parents opened it and freaked out cause I never heard my mother scream so loud in her life. I think she thought I was dead too.”[/black] She said with the shrug of her shoulders, [black]”They took me to St. Mungos and I stayed there for about another month… post depression and malnutrition. I was in bad shape… but that’s it.”[/black]

Adonia didn’t know what else to say. It really was a sad way. She didn’t think that she would ever be able to get over the fact that something really happened. Adonia knew that she would never walk alone at night or in the peak hour of the mornings. It scared her too much, but what people didn’t know is that she still goes to St. Mungos for checkups and also gets more antidepressant potions. Yes, Adonia was still depressed. It was maybe post tramatic stress, but she couldn’t get over it. She knew that it was someone at the school who took her and she fought hard with her parents not to come back here. Adonia offered to go to Beauxbatons or even Durmstrang, anywhere else but Hogwarts, but they convinced her to come back… now here she was. Head Girl and now in her 7th year.

Kayla listened to Adonia talk and couldn't help but feel bad for her and ended up tearing up slightly. Kayla was very familiar with pain, so she could definitely sympathize with Adonia there. "I promise I won't tell anyone." Said Kayla and pulled her friend into a warm hug. Kayla had missed Adonia, she missed hanging out with her and talking to her about her problems. Kayla was glad Adonia was alive and had returned to Hogwarts. It was odd not having a girl to talk to about, well, girl stuff really. Kayla pulled out of the hug and wiped the tears off of her cheeks. She smiled to her friend and sat back in the chair.

The Ravenclaw looked back at Adonia and smiled slightly. She did notice that Adonia had lost alot of weight. She seriously needed to put some weight back on. Adonia was a healthy weight before she disappeared, no she just looked malnourished and ill."Wanna pig out and catch up? Asked Kayla with her usual cheeky smile. Kayla pulled out her wand and flicked it at the coffee table. The table was covered with snacks and drinks. All of the two girls favourite things. Kayla picked up the bowl of sweeet popcorn and set it in between her and Adonia. Kayla took a small handful and began eating it.

Most of the food and drink on the table was muggle food. But there were a few things on there that were from the wizarding world, such as Pumpkin pasties and jelly slugs. Thank god they were not real jellied slugs. That would be gross. "How long have you been back at Hogwarts?" Asked Kayla as she munched on the popcorn.

Seeing the tears in her best friend’s eyes, Adonia had to advert her eyes. She knew once she had seen Kayla cry, Adonia would may lose it herself. She hated it to see her friends sad, so maybe it was a good thing that Kayla hugged Adonia. Giving a her a small squeeze, Adonia knew that she could trust Kayla with anything she had said. Seeing all the loads of food, which were a lot of Muggle food, but she did also see wizards food. Such as Yorkshire pudding, chocolate frogs and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean… Adonia would stay clear from those. When she was six, her Uncle Frank gave her an anchovy bean and Adonia threw up. Ever since then, she hasn’t touched a bean since.

Seeing a pizza… pineapple and Canadian bacon… Adonia reached for a slice and took one bite. She sure was glad Kayla wanted to pig out… but pigging out for Adonia was maybe only eating one slice… her appetite hasn’t been well for a while. ]black]”Im sorry if my pigging out is good… I still cant eat much. Sometimes I skip dinner and only eat a small breakfast and a small lunch.”[/black] She hated to say that, but hey, she needed too.

Pouring herself some pumpkin juice and taking another small bite of pizza, Adonia heard Kayla ask how long she had been at Hogwarts. Swallowing down the remains in her mouth, Adonia looked at Kayla. [black]”About a good week. I cant believe I am back. Still feels weird.”[/black] She said as she took another bite and wiped her mouth on her sleeve. It was so nice talking to Kayla once again! It was something she missed. [black]”Ok, enough about me. Tell me about you. What have you been up to?”[/black] Adonia needed to get back on track about everything happening in Hogwarts as well as in Kayla’s life too.

It was clear that Adonia had lost alot of weight. Her cheek bones stuck out making her face look slightly sunken in. Well Kayla was going to make sure that Adonia ate some crap to put on some weight. Kayla missed the cute childlike face Adonia used to have, made her look innocent. Which she was compared to Kayla. Seriously, you wouldn't expect these two to be best friends. They are so different but get along like sisters. Kayla was glad she had a girl friend that she felt this comfortable around. She felt like she could be herself. "Well I'm gunna make sure you eat. Need to fatten you up a little bit." Said Kayla and laughed a little. Kayla picked up a slice of pizza and took a bite out of it as she sat back into the comfy chair. It felt like the old days when Adonia and Kayla would hang out and gossip. Basically just having a girlie time together. She had missed that.

The topic soon came off of Adonia and turned onto Kayla. The smile dropped from her face as she shifted awkwardly in the seat. There was no way she could act as if everything was ok. Adonia knew when Kayla was lieing. "Nothing good really. Just the usual getting beaten up by my brother, my family turning their back on me, falling for a guy and then he disappears off and I have no idea where he has gone." Said Kayla rather quickly, not wanting to go into too much detail. For the last few weeks she had seriously been considering ending her pain by jumping off the Astronomy Tower, but so far she had not worked up the nerve to do so. But if things didn't get better soon, then she would honestly be able to do that. Kayla took another bite from the pizza and rested her head back. "So your head girl? no surprise there." Said Kayla with a small smile.

Kayla knew Adonia wouldn't be distracted by her sudden change of topic. Adonia was a too good friend to not try and help her friend and just let the matter drop. Kayla was going to have to explain everything to Adonia, no doubt there was going to be tears but Kayla needed help, she needed to be able to trust people again. All she had learned over the last six years was betrayal by people you care about. Someone needed to help her realise that not everyone was like that.

Adonia smiled when Kayla said that she needed to fatten Adonia up. Typical Kayla, telling Adonia the straight up truth rather than beating around the bush. Sometimes people would tell her that it wasn’t bad, she wasn’t that skinny… like her family, but Adonia wasn’t that stupid. She knew that she needed to gain weight, but the girl simply just didn’t want to eat. Adonia could tell that Kayla just probably wanted to see her healthy. That was another reason why Adonia had a smile on her face, was her best friend’s concern for her. [black]”Ok, I will try and eat more.”[/black] Taking another big bite out of her pizza.

Wiping her mouth on a napkin, Adonia listened to how Kayla was doing… it was sad to hear that it wasn’t good. Hearing that she was getting beaten up by her brother made Adonia feel really sad but also anger. Why would her brother beat her up? What makes him do this? Doesn’t he know that he should not hit a girl? But suddenly, the subject was changed and Adonia waved her hand, [black]”Yeah, but that is for next year. You are not changing the subject that easily on me. What the heck is your brother’s problem? Would you like me to go and try beat some sense into him?”[/black] She said in a joking matter, hoping it would be taken lightly rather offense. [black]”Now, about this guy… who are we talking about? Is it someone I know and why did he leave?”[/black]

Now, that thought made her think about Ethan… she wanted him right now… to hold her in his arms and tell her everything would be ok. Why did he have to leave? Its actually more like, where did he go? Oh well, time to move on. She was starting to crush on Scot, but she did not want anyone to find out about that… maybe Kayla… but that is it!

Kayla hoped she didn't sound too bossy but she cared about Adonia and she did look ill, so Kayla would help her gain some weight until she looked healthy again. Kayla smiled and took another bite out of the pizza. Kayla placed the slice on a napkin as she leaned forward and picked up a bottle of pumpkin juice, she took a swig and then set it back down on the table, before picking up the slice of pizza again and taking another bite. She had finally told Adonia about her brother and family. It sucked but there was nothing Adonia could do. Well she could but she didn't want Adonia getting hurt. Her brother was no push over. "No, you've been through enough, I don't want you getting hurt by him." Said Kayla finishing off the slice of pizza. Adonia probably thought that Kayla was being delusional, but her brother did know about the wizardy world so he would know to get Adonia's wand off of her first. How else do you think he managed to beat Kayla up.

So, Adonia wanted to know about Liam, the last time Adonia had seen him was at Madam Pudifoots tea parlor and at that time he was bandaged up because of the scars he had. But know he does not cover his face. According to him it was because Kayla had encouraged him not to hide away from everyone. So he had a few scars, who cares. It wasn't what he was, there was more to him than his physical appearance which by the way Kayla liked, but she liked him alot more. "Yeah you know him. Well you've met him once. Remember Liam the guy we met at Madam Pudifoots?" Asked Kayla raising a eyebrow slightly and smiling very slightly. Back then things seemed to be getting better, but right now everything sucked. She had no family, no home and as far as she was aware the guy who she was falling for had disappeared. What was the point of being here? Atleast that was what Kayla was thinking constantly.

Kayla picked up her pumpkin juice again and drank some more. She had had enough food for now. Ever since everything began getting crappy she had not had much of an appetite. She would just pick through out the day. To be honest Kayla was beginning to get a little worried about the thoughts she had been having lately.

Adonia wouldn’t mind helping Kayla stand up for her brother. No one should be beaten up, especially if its by your own family! Sighing deeply, Adonia put down her drink and her pizza, looking at Kayla, taking her hand into her own. I know that I may not be physically ready to take anyone on, but I know that I am mentally ready to take him on. You should know, that I am pretty wicked with potions.”[/black] Now, Adonia didn’t mean that killing him with a potion, maybe just hurting him a little… he put Kayla through hell, why cant they do the same?

Hearing about Liam, Adonia’s eyes lit up. To be honest, Adonia was surprised that Kayla is even dating someone. She thought that Kayla said that she didn’t want to date, she just slept around. But Adonia was happy for her. She smiled to Kayla, [black]”Yes! I remember him! Oh that is wonderful that you two are dating. He was a nice guy. But since he is working at Hogwarts and you still went here, does that mean that it is like offlimits? Not legal?”[/black] From what Adonia had remembered was that none of the students could date someone from the school. Hopefully they were being careful about sneaking around… like how Liam and Atreyu were.

Kayla smiled as Adonia offered to help her. Usually she would have said yes, but she couldn't bare to loose someone else she cared about. Kayla took another sip of her drink and looked back to her friend. "No, it's ok. I don't want to loose anymore people I care about." Said Kayla and finished her drink. just mentioning Liam made Kayla's heart ache. She missed him so much and yet she was heart broken by what he had done. She thought he had wanted to be with her, but then she finds out that he slept with Mikayla. It wouldn't be the first time she had been used and neither would it be the last. Now he had disappeared it made her think that what she thought would happen at the beginning was happening now. Every guy she had hooked up with had used her or cheated on her. It seemed the same thing was happening again.

With a sigh Kayla shook her head and looked down into her lap. "No we're not dating, we were never dating. i think I fell for him, but he has disappeared and I have no idea where he has gone or why he left and I just feel so used."

She then realised that Adonia probably wouldn't have the slightest idea what she would be talking about since Adonia had disappeared herself not to long ago. "Ok, well when you disappeared me and Liam became close and I began to like him, but what I ddin't know is that him and Mikayla were fake dating because he wanted to learn how to be a good boyfriend. Anyway i didn't know this and it wasn't until like a month later that he told me it was never real. That was when I told him I liked him and we agreed to be together once I graduated. He also offered me to stay with him and his sister, because I don't have a home anymore." Kayla paused as she was explaining things to Adonia.

Memories of her family came flooding back. She missed them so much but they wanted nothing to do with her. Kayla had never felt so alone before. Clearing her throat she continued one. "Anyway not long after that he disappeared. I also arranged to meet up with Mikayla just to put the rivalry between us to rest. It was getting annoying. Anyway that was when she told me that her and Liam had slept together and that he had never said to her that the fake dating thing was over. So why would he lie about that?" Said Kayla as tears stung her eyes. Leaning forward, Kayla grabbed another slice of pizza and took a small bite out of it. She really didn't feel like eating anymore, but if she was going to help Adonia put some weight on she couldn't begin starving herself.[/size]

Adonia knew that Kayla would say something like that. She sighed a little. Adonia knew that if she was in Kayla's shoes, Kayla would want to do something about it. So Adonia kind of wished that she could help, but she had to try to convince her. [black]"But Kayla, your gonna need some help to stop him from what he is doing to you. This isn't right."[/black] Adonia protested. [black]"No one should go through what your going through now."[/black] She was serious. Has Kayla ever did anything wrong to deserve this? Adonia was guessing no because Kayla didn't seem like the type to get mean or anything. Why should she live through this pain?

Next, Kayla talked about Liam. Yes, there was some details where Adonia was confused about. Especially the part about her being used. Her brown eyebrows furrowed and her brown eyes narrowed, [black]"What did you mean used? What happened?"[/black] Adonia hated to be nosy, but this was a measure that she needed to take. It seemed to emotionally painful for Kayla. This was a different side Adonia was experiencing from Kayla.

Looking at her crying now, taking a small bite of her pizza after telling her the story about Mikayla and Liam. Why was all this piling on Kayla all at once? Was Liam playing her? If he was... He would need to answer to Adonia. Reaching over, Adonia crabbed a Kleenex out of her, so Kayla could wipe here tears away. [black]"Gosh, I am sorry. Kayla loved Adonia. Not in a lesbian kind of way but as a best friend. She smiled slightly. Yes she did need help and she was getting it. It was just taking abit of time before she could actually do anything to her brother to get her revenge on him. "Adonia I am getting help. I do know what I am going to do about him but I can't tell you and you can't be involved." Said Kayla with a small sigh. She had discussed a while ago with Matthew about her brother and that she wanted to get revenge on her brother for everything he had done to her. Kayla was planning on killing her brother. She had put up with his shit for too long now and she had had enough.

That is why she didn't want to tell Adonia anything. She coulsn't have Adonia apart for something like that. Kayla wiped the tears from her eyes and took a deep breath. Kayla wished he would come back so the three of them could sort everything out once and for all. Kayla picked up her pumpkin juice and took a sip, to try and calm herself down. It didn't really work, she also decided to tell Adonia exactly how she had been feeling. She needed to tell someone. "It's all getting too much for me now Adonia. I've been thinking about leaving Hogwarts or......just ending it all." Said Kayla looking down in her lap. There had been a few times when she had cut herself or got pills to take an overdose but never actually gone through with it. She didn't know why. It's not like she had anything to loose. She had nothing, nothing to live for, so what was the point.

With that said, Adonia just nodded and kept her mouth shut about the ordeal. Adonia really, really did want to help Kayla. She didn’t want her to get hurt in anyway possible. Also, what was playing in Adonia’s mind was who was Kayla getting the help from? Was it from someone she knew? Was it going to be like a hit man, the type of people in the Muggle movies where the Italian mobs hire people to kill other people? Adonia didn’t know. She would hope that it was someone that she trusted.

Seeing Kayla cry was something that broke Adonia’s heart. Kayla was such a wonderful girl who was basically always smiling. So to see her like this was just heartbreaking. Leaning over, Adonia grabbed a tissue and handed it to Kayla. [black]”Oh, sweetheart, please don’t talk about ending your life. Its not worth it. Think about all the other people you will be hurting if you acted like that… its just selfish.”[/black] Adonia said with tears in her eyes, wanting to cry. When you hear your best friend talking about killing herself, its just plain sad. Adonia didn’t want to lose Kayla at all. [black]”Your leaving here at the end of the summer.
