Aaron 'Aegis' Nomen

Male
Age, Birthplace & Date:
26 / Paris, France / July 5, 2020
Bloodline:
Muggle-born
-Appearance-
Hair:
Short, black, it isn't really tended to unless something formal is happening - what it looks like after the morning shower is how it stays.
Eyes:
Rich brown eyes that captivate once locked. You wouldn't be able to break eye contact easily even if he started talking about ways to kill you.
Body Type:
Tall and lanky, but surprisingly toned for a wizard.
Unique Features:
While there aren't any scars, there is a rather surprising tramp stamp just above his arse.
Animagus:
Northern Short-tailed Shrew – it’s a poisonous mouse-sized shrew.
More Detailed Physical Description :
Aaron stands at about 6'2" and weighs close to 151lbs. He used to work out when he was in Hogwarts, due to being a bit overweight and a muggle born - scrutiny is horrible thing. He now has a jaw line to kill for and the body to go with it. Aaron will let a little stubble grow from time to time - sometimes from not remembering, sometimes not.

-Personality-
Boggart:
Clown. Not one in particular, but the things have no right to be that bloody creepy.
Mirror of Erised:
A loving family.
Patronus:
Tiger shark.
Temperament/Allegiance:
While he isn't much of hot head, Aaron will get his revenge one way or another. He does tend towards the death and destruction and damnation sort of thing, but would defend Hogwarts and her students with his life.
Likes/Dislikes:
He loves chocolate - he would never ask for it outright though.
He loves to teach, and feels that you can't stop learning
Has a "secret" love for the Dark Arts.
Hates sushi. With a bloody passion.
Strong Points/Weaknesses:
Is excellent at Transfiguration, and tends to use it in battle quite a bit more than normal fighting spells.
Aaron absolutely loves Arithmancy. Don’t ask him a question about it that you don’t want to hear every excruciating detail for.
Can barely brew a potion to save his life.
Whims/Habits:
Aaron is a creature of extreme habit. He wakes up at six am every morning, takes a shower, brushes his teeth, gets dressed for the day and is done by seven. He starts classes by eight, stops for lunch, and doesn't go back to his private quarters till after five. Rinse, lather, repeat.
After a bad experience with sushi, Aaron will never again eat it - between sushi and excruciating torture, torture wins out every time.
Detailed Personality :
Aaron loved, lost, became jaded, loved again, lost again and now realizes that love isn’t as much a game as it is pure luck. While generally a carefree guy, he knows how and when to crack down to get a job done. When focused on something (anything really), it can take several moments to snap him out of his focusing.
He has a darker personality, hidden for the children of Hogwarts, that led him towards his startling yet ongoing affair with the Dark Arts. Aaron doesn’t consider himself to be a ‘dark wizard’ but he knows in his soul that he wouldn’t claim to be a light wizard. This makes him feel insecure about himself, and has made him hesitant about dating anyone – because who would want to be with a dark wizard, that wasn’t dark themselves.
Character's Family :
Mother: Yvanne Nomen (nee Florence), age 47, muggle
Father: Wilson Nomen, age 50, muggle
Sister: Terri Nomen, age 30, muggle

-Character History-
Born at the tender age of Day 1, Aaron was brought into this world on July 5, 2020. His mother, Yvanne, had absolutely no complications with his birth whatsoever – Aaron’s first case of accidental magic. In actuality, Yvanne’s birth canal wasn’t supposed to be able to become large enough to pass a child through. In fact, when his older sister, Terri, was born Yvanne had to have a caesarian section performed. The doctors on staff were completely dumbfounded, but decided not to worry the family with the news.
Several years later, Aaron’s dad was offered a job back in London that had better pay. Within the month, Aaron and his entire family had packed up and moved back to London. Getting papers for Aaron and Terri hadn’t been as hard as their parents had thought, being citizens of Britain themselves.
Nothing magical happened again until Aaron was almost 10. He had the usual fanfare of childhood – riding bikes, getting scrapes, making friends and breaking bones – regular little boy things. He doesn’t remember the incident due to a memory charm placed on him by the Ministry, but when he was almost ten, Aaron stumbled right into Diagon Alley. He knew nothing of magic beyond what he’d heard in fairy tales and science fiction books, but this place had left its mark on him. When Aaron realized that he was lost he looked up and saw people dressed in odd robes of different and moving colors. Aaron was so dumbfounded that when someone passing by snickered a ‘mudblood’ he didn’t even hear it.
Needless to say, he was found by an Obliviator and carted back to Muggle World. On his eleventh birthday, Aaron received an owl in the post. His parents fretted, not wanting to send him off to some random school in a different place, when they had already set him a place to go. Eventually, they decided to let Aaron choose – Hogwarts or no Hogwarts. It was a tough decision, but the opportunity to learn magic and do all sorts of fanciful things later on just completely won out.
Aaron obtained his first wand – an 11” Yew with a mixed Boomslang Venom and Demiguise Hair core. It was a bit stiff but was still pliable enough to bend without snapping. When he asked Olivander about the properties of his wand, he just got a scowl and was told that typically only dark wizards received wands made of Yew, and even fewer with Boomslang Venom. Aaron told nothing of this to his parents or sister, but it sure did scare the socks off of his feet.
He was sorted into Slytherin. Aaron nearly fainted, having read in a book that only Dark Wizards get sorted into Slytherin. And, over the years, Aaron saw a majority of the upper classmen practicing Dark Arts and leaving Hogwarts to continue to do so. Aaron made few friends within the house, being a ‘filthy mudblood’ and those that he did were only interested in why he was in Slytherin and not Hufflepuff like ‘their ilk’ almost always are. It was third year before anyone found out why Aaron, sweet, young, innocent Aaron, was a Slytherin.
After two years of verbal assault in his waking hours, Aaron snapped. It happened one night after particularly brutal potions lesson that he just couldn’t manage to do anything. A second year (of all things!) was talking about ‘the mudblood’ when he couldn’t contain himself anymore. Aaron lifted himself out of the couch and turned his wand on the poor second year – committing his first Dark Art. The poor second year was blind in one eye and couldn’t say a proper sentence (much like a toddler learning to talk) when he woke up the next morning. Everyone knew that the night before he had been bragging on blood supremacy and how ‘filthy mudbloods’ shouldn’t be tolerated in their house, and thus, everyone knew it was Aaron who had cursed the boy in his sleep. It only lasted a week before it wore off.
After that, only the first years questioned his place in Slytherin. Aaron did end up making friends with a Ravenclaw in fourth year. They would study together and swap notes. It seemed only natural to Aaron that by fifth year they might progress their relationship – and progress they did. On the train ride back home after fourth year, they shared a kiss. His holiday was spent moping about, bemoaning the lack of his Ravenclaw and the lack of feeling magic in the air that Hogwarts provided.
Aaron passed his OWLs with an ‘O’ in Arithmancy, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts; an ‘E’ in Charms, Ancient Runes, and History of Magic; an ‘A’ in Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, and Astronomy; and a single ‘P’ in Potions. Beyond studying for his OWLs, fifth year was rather uneventful. He and the Ravenclaw grew closer together over their studies.
Sixth and Seventh year ran just about the same. Aaron found out more about the Dark Arts and started studying them in his free time. When the Ravenclaw boy saw Aaron casting a jinx firmly in the Dark, he called off the relationship as well as the friendship, due to his prominent Light Wizard stance. With his heart in a couple million pieces, Aaron buried himself in his NEWT studies. His NEWT results were passing in Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Transfiguration and DADA.
Aaron decided to continue to plunge through, and got a job at the Ministry. After working on a slow track for four years, he left. Aaron travelled to different parts of the world, picking up bits and pieces of the Dark Arts as he went along. Aaron learned how to shift into his animagus form on these trips, and was shocked to see it was one of the few poisonous mammals.
When he was 24, Aaron met an astounding woman who completely wooed and subdued him. They spent a blissful year together in Scotland. Aaron took her home once, to introduce her to his parents. He told them that they were planning to wed and have children one day.
She was perfect. An angel in any form. And unfortunately, fate had plans for her to show off her angel sooner than Aaron would ever be ready. A deadly car crash killed both her and the other driver, who had two small children in the back. Aaron never wanted to know the details – who made it out of the accident or what caused it – because his angel was gone.
Aaron returned to Hogwarts the following year, looking for a job that would keep him challenged, and he figured that teaching would do the trick.

Sample RP:
Aaron was headed back to Hogwarts. With Shay buried, he had no reason to stay in that part of Scotland. For now, he would just head to Hogsmeade and make his way up to Howarts and speak with whoever the current Headmaster was. See if they have any job openings. Maybe after that got settled he could go see his parents. Terri was working as a nurse in a hospital now, trying to get into a medical college somewhere. He hadn’t told them about Shay yet, and maybe they could help with the grieving process.
Aaron was good at bottling his emotions until they could be reviewed at a later date. He hoped that his parents would have some advice for him. Even though they had only ever been serious about each other, they had dated other people. They knew what losing a loved one was about. But first, Hogwarts. If he could, he’d teach Arithmancy, but he needed to see which positions were open first.
