-Personality-
Boggart: The one thing Bertram fears above all else are wasps. Therefore, his boggart is a massive wasp.
Mirror of Erised: The one object he wishes to obtain is Rowena Ravenclaw’s wand. If he were to look into the mirror, he would see himself with the wand in hand.
Patronus: Bertram’s Patronus is in the shape of a large squid.
Temperament/Allegiance: Chaotic Good.
Likes/Dislikes:
Strong Points/Weaknesses:
Strong Points: He does not allow his emotions to get the best of him. He is also devoted to learning as many forms of magic that he can. He is highly intelligent and is rumored to be proficient in combative spells. He is not prideful of his blood status and discourages the idea of pureblood supremacy. The classes he was best in were Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and Potions.
Weaknesses: He is often described as being too enthusiastically cruel towards Dark Wizards and Witches. He has little to no sympathy for people who are ignorant or dumb enough to get involved too deeply into something that they cannot handle. Despite being an overall good person, he is a practitioner of the Dark Arts, but only when it calls for it. The classes he didn’t excel very well in were Divination and Muggle Studies.
Whims/Habits: One of Bertram’s more peculiar habits is often frowned upon. He collects wands from defeated Wizards and Witches, more specifically, the ones who became known as practitioners of the Dark Arts.
Detailed Personality :
Bertram isn’t the nicest man on the face of the Earth. He tends to have little to no sympathy for anyone who is killed in the heat of battle. Though he was born to a pureblood family, he finds it disgusting when wizards and witches boast of their blood status. To him, it amounts to little more than dust. He also believes in doing whatever is necessary to win a conflict, including the use of the Dark Arts should it become such a desperate situation. The one thing that Bertram is prideful over is the fact that he was sorted into Ravenclaw.
Bertram is also very clandestine. He never lets anyone know too much about himself. Most particularly, Bertram hides his penchant for collecting other wizards’ and witches’ wands. He has, however, allowed for rumors to circulate, finding them amusing. He is protective of his property, including his wand collection, and trusts so very few with the knowledge. He has no qualms with killing a Dark wizard or witch and can’t quite understand those who do.
Character's Family : All of his family leading up to his parents are dead. His wife, Venessa Corvus, died three years at age 58 prior due to heart failure. His daughter, Aimee Pythios, is 35 and a former Hufflepuff and is married to a former Slytherin. She has two children, a boy and a girl. The boy, Devin Pythios, is 15 and is sorted into Gryffindor. The girl, Katrina Pythios, is 8 and has yet to be sorted, though her personality somewhat reflects Bertram’s, causing him to believe she will be a Ravenclaw.
Boggart: The one thing Bertram fears above all else are wasps. Therefore, his boggart is a massive wasp.

Likes/Dislikes:

- He likes Mythology.
- He likes animals a great deal.
- He dislikes Dark Witches and Wizards.
- He dislikes the Ministry of Magic.

-Character History-
Bertram Corvus was born to a rich pureblood family of witches and wizards. Though most would view this as some sort of blood mania, this was not the case. In fact, they were only pureblood due to chance. They always seemed to fall in love with their significant others during their years at Hogwarts. Bertram was exposed to magic ever since he was a boy; his uncle would often show him some minor tricks that he always found entertaining. He was a homeschooled child as his parents didn’t want him to accidentally let slip that he was of magical lineage. Even as a child, Bertram had shown that he was capable of magic, often causing some small objects to change color when he was in an extreme mood of some sort or causing small glasses to shatter when he was having a fit.
When he finally came of age, Bertram received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The first place his parents took him was to Ollivander’s Wand Shop. Unfortunately, after spending an hour or two in the building, they discovered that none of the wands seemed to choose Bertram. This concerned his parents, but Ollivander had assured them that he simply needed to find another wandmaker and that he was certain that his wand was out there somewhere. After that, they took him around the Alley and gathered his school supplies. Shortly after finishing their shopping, they sent an owl to Bertram’s great aunt. She was a wandmaker herself, but no longer had any wands to give. Instead, she gave them a list of prominent names of other wandmakers in Ireland, Australia, and China.
His parents first took Bertram to China, where they felt that not only would he find his wand here, but he would also enjoy the scenery. They were right on both counts. Bertram found himself fascinated with the ancient and beautiful country, particularly their marketplaces. In fact, it was in the wandshop of Sun Nianzu that his wand finally found him. According to Mr. Nianzu, the wand was ten inches long, flexible, made of dogwood, and contains an Acromantula Web core. This greatly concerned his parents as they knew that Acromantula Web cores were outlawed in England, but bought the wand anyway, believing that he would not use it for Dark purposes.
A short while before Bertram was to go to Hogwarts, his family received word of the attack at the Quidditch World Cup. All of this seemed too ominous for them, but after a conversation with Bertram’s uncle, they relaxed and allowed Bertram to attend Hogwarts. It was there that he was sorted into Ravenclaw. It was also in that same year that he was to witness the TriWizard Tournament. It proved to be a most unusual year, especially since there were four wizards competing that year, rather than three. Bertram could’ve cared less, of course. He was simply happy that he was there to witness this event. At the end of that year was the first time he would remember having heard anything about a man named Voldemort. According to the headmaster, this Dark Wizard killed the boy that had turned up dead at the end of the final event in the TriWizard Tournament.
The following year, all sorts of slander and mudslinging was thrown around in the Daily Prophet. According to the Minister of Magic, Dumbledore and the so-called “Boy who Lived” were lying about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Many events occurred that year that made the outside world seem frightful, including the massive breakout at Azkaban. Bertram didn’t want to leave the school out of fear. However, later on in the year, it became apparent that students had been gathering for secret meetings. This crowd was led by Potter and his two closest friends. They were teaching students how to defend themselves as the current D.A.D.A. wasn’t being of much help. Reluctant as he was to break the rules that were instated that year, Bertram eventually joined. He was punished when the ‘army’ was discovered later on, along with most of the others. He didn’t join in on the army’s later events that were to occur that year that eventually cleared the headmaster’s and Potter’s names.
During his third year, nothing particularly extraordinary occurred…that is, until June of 1997. The headmaster had been killed that night. Later on, the staff and students, including Bertram, gathered at his funeral to mourn his passing. Even though Bertram felt he hadn’t known the headmaster well enough to deserve to be there, he mourned him all the same. The next school year, the Death Eaters seemed to be taking over everything, even Hogwarts. He almost didn’t attend that year, but he forced himself to go, not wanting to leave his friends there by themselves.
Upon returning to Hogwarts, he was shocked to find that Snape was the new Headmaster. Under his control, Hogwarts became a veritable Hell. Bertram took refuge with the former Dumbledore’s Army members when classes ended, trying to make that year bearable. However, this year finally turned up some hope. Potter finally returned to them, later on revealing Snape to have been the one to kill Dumbledore and shortly after, being plunged into the Battle of Hogwarts. It was a horrific war, forcing Bertram to witness the deaths of several people he had become acquainted with. He even found himself in a four against one fight: him and three older students against one Death Eater. In the skirmish, one of the elder students was killed. Through the combined efforts of the remaining three, they managed to cause the Death Eater’s Killing Curse to rebound on himself.
Eventually, the battle finally ended, victory for the defenders of Hogwarts, though they had lost many in the epic war against the Death Eaters. The experience inspired Bertram to become an Auror. He hated Dark Wizards and Witches. He felt that they were the scum of the Earth and didn’t deserve to be magic users. In the following years at Hogwarts, under the control of McGonagall, Bertram began to excel in Defense Against the Dark Arts, more than anything else, making sure that he could learn everything he could to combat the Dark forces of the wizarding world. It was also here that he met his future wife, Venessa, and began dating her.
When he was 25, he finally became an Auror and also married his Hogwarts sweetheart, Venessa. He fought off several Dark Wizards and Witches, bringing them to justice. However, this began to seem too easy for them, in Bertram’s opinion. Here, they would either be able to weasel their ways out of persecution or simply go to prison. That was too gentle of a punishment. As the years dragged on, Bertram took to being more vicious in combat with these Dark magic users. Eventually, he got to a point where he would simply kill them once they began fighting. Why not? They were trying to kill him. By the age of 29, he developed a somewhat strange hobby that seemed to surface around the time his daughter was born. Upon the defeat or death of his opponent, he would take their wands. It started as simply a way to make sure the living opponent couldn’t retrieve their weapon should they escape, but soon he began to keep them for himself, seeing it as a waste to simply not put the wand to use ever again or destroying it.
When he was 40, his daughter finally came of age to go to Hogwarts. Before he took her out to Diagon Alley to go shopping, he decided to try a little experiment. He had his daughter, Aimee, look through his wand collection. As she nearly finished looking at the collection, they both noticed something strange occur. Bertram smiled as he realized that the wand she had been holding had chosen her. It was the wand of a Death Eater that had managed to elude authorities for years, only to be killed by Bertram when he was 32.
When Bertram was 43, he came home to discover that his home had been broken in to. He discovered the perpetrator as he was snapping wands right and left. It was a fellow Auror. Apparently, rumors had circulated that Bertram had been collecting wands from Dark magic users and this was the only Auror who took it seriously. The two wizards fought it out for a few hours before Bertram finally struck with a Full-Body Bind curse. He collected the remaining five wands before wiping the Auror’s memory of having seen the wands. Afterwards, he felt incredibly guilty for what he had done.
This prompted him to return to the Ministry of Magic and resign from his post as Auror. He didn’t give them a detailed reason as to why. Later, Bertram lived in obscurity, still combatting and, occasionally, killing Dark Wizards and Witches. Years later, his daughter graduated from Hogwarts and married one of her classmates. Sometime later, his beloved wife died of heart failure. During these times, Bertram seemed to sink deeper and deeper into a somewhat grim state. Now, he finally reemerges as the new shopkeeper at Ollivander’s Wand Shop. His demeanor seems to have darkened over the years since his wife died, but he still fights the good fight when the need arises.

“EXPULSO!”
The door before him splintered, raining bits of wood and ashes into the dark room. Slowly, Bertram entered, knowing full-well that his latest target was hiding in the shadows. He held his wand out, preparing for a difficult battle. This Dark Witch had killed several muggles in a nearby town. She had earned quite a reputation. Still, those were merely words, to Bertram. If she was as fearsome as they said she was, she would have already attempted to kill him. This was not the case. She was a coward if anything. An arrogant smirk crossed Bertram’s lips.
“Not willing to show yourself?” he called out loudly. “I shall give you ten seconds to come forward and I will spare you. Fail to do so, and I shall have no choice.” After he spoke, he muttered an incantation. “Legilimens…”
Immediately, he was able to zero-in on the woman’s thoughts. She was indeed still here. However, he could tell that she wasn’t going to come forward. Slowly, his smirk faded to a scowl as her time limit dwindled to zero.
“Fine…” he growled as he raised his wand, preparing to cast one of his favorite spells.
