"I was born to Darren and Elaine Pythios in October of ’97. My parents had to move around a lot when I was born because of the events of that year. We were always safe and well-hidden, from what I was told. My father was a muggle who worked as a novelist. He was a fabulous writer. He and my mother met soon after she graduated from Hogwarts. It was two years into their relationship that she let slip that she was a witch. From what he told me, he was terrified out of his wits when she showed him what she could do, but continued to love her all the same. They were married in January of ’93.
As for myself, I went through Hogwarts like any child that was born of magical lineage. I was sorted into Slytherin and excelled in Defense Against the Dark Arts as well as Divination and Potions. For the first few years of my life, my wand gave me some trouble. It wouldn’t produce spells at the pace that I expected. However, once I reached my fourth year, my wand was at top notch performance. I was quite proud of it. Fairly soon, I was at the top of my class in D.A.D.A. and was considered by many students to be a formidable dueling partner.
During that same year I became more interested in politics, finding myself very supportive of Minister Shacklebolt. Furthermore, I became determined to excel in my studies and during my 5th year became a Prefect. I retained that title until my 7th year when I was dubbed Head Girl. It was a very proud moment in my life. My parents were proud of me and I impressed my teachers. When it finally became time for me to leave Hogwarts for good, I was sorely disappointed. I enjoyed being a student, but I was determined to return as a teacher.
When I was twenty, I married the man I thought was going to be the love of my life. His name was Leonard and we married a month after our first date. Soon after I gave birth to Benjamin, I realized how wrong Leonard was for me. Shortly after, leaving the hospital, I filed for divorce. Five years later, I married again, trying to wait a while longer before tying the knot. We dated for two years before marrying, and still we were incompatible. I divorced him two years before Benjamin was to receive his letter from Hogwarts.
And then, just as Benjamin was to graduate from Hogwarts, I met yet another man. It almost seemed to be a match made in heaven. We loved each other and were married for a total of ten years before I realized he was having an affair. I dropped him the moment he confessed. I suppose I’m not very forgiving. Anyhow, I’ve skipped over the more important moments in my life.
When I was 25 I became an Auror for the Ministry. I had my share of combat and subdued several wizards and witches. Soon after, it became more or less dull, for my taste. When I reached the age of 40, I resigned from my post as an Auror and took to studying various other areas of magic. The one I found to be most intriguing was potions. I knew I could conjure potions fairly well, but after my more intense studying, I realized I barely knew anything. I studied for nine years and now, I have applied to the position as Potions Mistress at Hogwarts. I’m looking forward to this year. It will be a difficult year for the students, in part because I am going to be more intensive. “
