Summer Celebrations.

Joey lay awake on her bed unable to sleep out of excitement. Her eyes followed the second hand of clock and urged it to go faster because when that hand went around another nine and a half times Joey would turn seventeen and in the wizarding world turning seventeen was a big deal. It meant Joey would be of age, seen as an adult and more importantly lose the trace that stopped her from using magic outside school.

Her eyes twitched over to her wand which lay as always on her bedside table. She'd already decided the first thing she'd do would be to clean her room which hadn’t been cleaned in months . She looked back to the clock, only two minutes left. The excitement was building so much that then a sudden cracking noise came from her window, it made her jump straight out of the bed. She crossed her room and with a hard push the window flew open. Below barely lit by the moonlight she could just make out Stuart below.

"I was wondering when you'd get here, hold on a second" Joey said as she looked behind her and waited for what seemed like days the second hand ticked over the twelve mark and turned her seventeen. She picked up her wand and like a giddy child sped back over to the window and waved it. The vines that covered her home started to rope together to form a ladder from the ground to her window. "come on up" She said as she turned and started waving and flicking her wand at her kip of a room.

The vine formed a quite sturdy ladder but Stuart still climbed slowly so not to wake Mr and Mrs Cleary who were only asleep in the other room. This wasn't the first time Stuart had wondered over at night but this night he knew was more special after all people only turn seventeen once. As he quietly climbed though the window he was nearly sent back out as a book that was soaring through the air came very close to hitting him. Joey stood in the centre of her room orchestrating the magical tidying of her room. Stuart, doging the flying books, cauldrons and clothes took his normal seat in the armchair.

"Not wasting any time are you.?" Stuart asked rhetorically with a slightly snigger. Stuart watch in amusement as Joey enjoyment caused her hair to change into a rainbow of colours then as she finished it returned to an amber colour. She grinned widely at Stuart who couldn't help but return the cheeky grin.

"Its like this is the first time you used magic Joey." He said rolling his eyes "And its not like you couldn't use magic here, after all the Ministry can't tell if its you or your parent casting. Pity same doesn’t go for me, remember I used a levitating charm to get back in my window and not two seconds later had an owl arrive with an official warning. I guess since your parent use magic more openly its hard for them to tell. Ah well at least here I can…"

Stuart whipped out his own wand and with a swish and a flick Joey came gliding through the air and land softly on him. They smiled lovingly at each other. Their lips drew closer and closer but at the last moment before they touched BANG. Joeys door blew opened with so much force it dented the wall. Both of them jumped from the seat and point their wands but there was no need. Joeys parent came waltzing in with a enormous cake hovering behind them, the cake itself was signing in a deep voice. "Happy Brithday dear Josephine, Happy birth day dear Joey!!!"
