-Character History-
((From birth to now, school experience included, Adults should also talk about their school experiences.))
Birth, the first moments of life. The moments you don't remember. All he was told about it was that his father hadn't been there. Gary never blamed him, he was off fighting the good fight as a Marine. He only could begin remembering by the age of three. When he first saw his father. To him, his father was the strongest man in the world. He could lift so much and do so much. He was always having a blast with him. He could remember his name, Kyle. He usually saw his father with his marine camouflage pants and green shirt. Proud of what he worked in, his father told him over and over that fighting for the weak is the only fight worth going into. By the age of six, his father had died in a firefight. If he hadn't given his life away, an entire squad would have gone in cases. Gary hadn't truly understood what that meant but he knew he would never hear from his father again. He was sad when his mother told him he would never see him again. He cried and cried as most kids would if they just lost a father.
Muggle-born, Gary was a wizard. His powers didn't really kick in until he was seven, when he smashed the windows of his house when he was mad at his friend for hurting a little girl. His mother knew what this meant. She brought him over to her friend, who just so happened to be a witch, and told her the story. He was dubbed a wizard and had to be trained. But being in America, they couldn't place him in any schools because there were none. But you could get a wand. It was magical law, however, that in the United States you couldn't have a wand until you were of age. So he was trained to use magic with his hands. Lifting and breaking things. By the age of eleven, he could lift any reasonably sized object and break it to use as a weapon. He could thrust it at somebody to hurt, or he could make a bag smother you. But this was just little stuff that would keep you alive until you were of age. Then you could go and get your wand, where you continue to study spells with your master.
This all changed for him one day. At age twelve, he was integrated with the wizards and witches. Being muggle-born, there was bound to be some racism. He was bullied sometimes by people who hated him just for that. He was told by his mother and teacher that back in the day, they hated muggle-borns. Though they were much more tolerant now, there was bound to be some. So those who thought they were better than him would continue to bully Gary. Some hurt him by cutting him or giving him bruises. He continued to stay strong. he didn't want to give the bullies the satisfaction of him crying. He wanted to show them that he couldn't be forced into crying over a little bullying. But every day they pushed him harder, making him hide under the playground slide while the others played. He began diverging into books and fairy tales that he thought weren't possible. He eventually became unsocial and wouldn't speak to anybody but his mother and teacher.
By age fourteen, he was sent to Hogwarts. He had been attacked by an extremist against muggle-borns. The man yelled "Mudblood!" as he shot curses at him. He caught him in the left eye, cutting him from the middle of his forehead to the cheekbone. It hadn't blinded him or impaired his vision, but it was excruciating. He had to be sent to Hogwarts and learn how to use a wand and use more advanced spells. All he could do was move things with his hands. So he took the plane and arrived in London ten hours later. He was picked up by a nameless woman who took him to Diagon Alley and helped him buy his stuff. The first of all, his wand. He went into the wand shop and tried about twenty different wands. All failures in the end. The shopkeeper had been baffled by how much this was beginning to fail. So he thought of the one wand he had in storage. The wand that had been there forever. He took it out and gave it to Gary. It worked! Out of twenty one wands, he found the Basilisk skin core with Rowan wood wand. Powerful and rare it was. The man himself made the wand. He knew that this wand was special and he didn't think it would pick somebody like him. He thought it would pick somebody a little less... well, Gary like. But he knew the wand wouldn't work for him properly, not unless something spectacular was done. He warned Gary of this, he told him to try some others. Gary did so, but none others worked. The only wand that worked was the Basilisk skin. So Gary had no choice, he was cursed with this wand for the rest of his life.
When he arrived at Hogwarts, he was fourth year material. Being shoved into the fourth year was hard for him. Except for the fact that he had already been taught some basic spells that would count as one through third year so they let him go through to the fourth, he couldn't get the spells down. He had terrible marks. He just basically failed everything except potions which didn't require much magic with his wand. So he had terrible marks. He finally moved up to the year to fifth. He didn't repeat it but it had held much of his grief from other students. He had been sorted by the hat, claiming he was wise enough for Ravenclaw. He hadn't cared. But he was scared. So in the fifth year, he was failing again. Being Ravenclaw, you didn't fail, you looked like a loser to most people. He wasn't getting his wand to work at all. It continued to rebound on him and hurt him badly. Naturally, you looked like an idiot and many would laugh at you. So it made him bitter towards his wand and towards the people. He began to skip classes, and not even trying anymore. He just liked to lie down in bed sometimes and read or sleep. He eventually received a gift from his mother. The magical boombox. It played any song he wanted. It was a gesture that she still loved and missed him every moment he was gone. They weren't rich, so this must have costed her some money.
But the gift only made him happy for so long. He had a crush on a girl for most of the year and it tore him up inside that he couldn't talk to her. He wanted terribly to tell her how he felt and he hoped that she would feel the same. But he knew better, he knew that she probably wouldn't take him. She then began dating a guy who would not stop embarrassing Gary. He loved hurting him and shooting stun spells into him. One day, Gary had the courage to fight back. He punched the guy, but he of course responded with a spell. Sending Gary ten feet away. He was angry, angrier than he ever was. Gary took his wand out and cast a cutting curse. It almost killed the guy and made everybody in the courtyard fear him. He lost his chances with the girl and he no longer wanted her. He roamed the halls, knowing that he could not become attached to anybody.
Now a sixth year, he enjoys throwing parties with his boombox. He has to make the rest of his life now. There is nothing else to say.

Wake up... put your clothes on. Walk out the door, walk into the courtyard. The same thing every day, nothing changes. Try a spell? Forget about it, it just rebounds. Gary sat down on a bench in the courtyard. Looking at the sky, wondering what it was to fly, free of the oppression and hold backs. He berried his face in his hands and began to become frustrated with himself. Frustrated with his abilities, frustrated with he hardships he had to face. What was it? What was holding him back like this? What had a grasp on him and would not let go? Gary stood up, and looked angrily to the door. That door held a whole school full of people who could do magic that he had yet to even attempt. The magic he could do was impossible until his damn wand would work! He let out an angry cry and punched the wall. He felt warm blood rush down his hand. He felt the sharp pain run through his left arm as he retracted.
He held his left hand, the blood beginning to streak down his arm and stain his clothes from the inside. He let it drop as he stood there. He could feel hot tears as he took out his wand and decided to try another spell. He was trying anything, perhaps this was enough to get the wand to work? Of course not, the moment he cast a charm spell it rebound on him and flipped him. He landed face first on the stone ground. He cut his nose across and scraped the rest of his right cheek. He let out an angry cry, knowing that it of course wasn't the answer. He had to get up and try again. Concentration was key with him. He had to think hard of what he wanted.
He stood up, his tears streaming out. The pain was terrible, but he continued. He held his wand and tried a disarming spell. The wand flew out of his hand. This time, the rebound wasn't as bad as the last. Gary sighed with relief. He picked up his wand and tried a floating spell. The rebound was terrible. He was lifted and slammed against the pillar behind him. He stifled a cry as he realized that this was not going to work. He took his wand and just walked inside the school. Taking himself back to his dorm. Wanting desperately to just lie down and forget the trouble he just had. He just wanted to sleep and heal. He bandaged his hand and cleaned his face up, then just lay there. Trying to sleep, to forget.
