"Hey! Um, my name’s Danny but people usually call me Dan. I’m a muggle-born. My family’s not that special. The only big thing is that my step-mother is half veela, making my brother a quarter veela. Oh, and I guess you could add in that my father, for a muggle, is very… wealthy. My birthday? Well, I’m eighteen and my birthday is June 8th. I always liked being born in the summer. It’s so nice and the sun’s out so I can usually have a pool party. But I guess wizards don’t do that much. They have magic to entertain them, after all. So do I, now. My mom and dad are kind of odd about the magic thing. They don’t get it. Ah, well… Um, yeah. I kind of ramble.”

"I’m a loyal and proud seventh year Hufflepuff although the sorting hat had sounded conflicted when deciding between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. See, I’m pretty loyal to my friends and family, but I’ve worked hard to be smart and impress my father. In the end, he decided Hufflepuff because of how I’m attached to my family. My wand still looks brand new. It’s an 8 ¾ inches with a dual core of fairy blood and unicorn hair and is made of birch. Dad said that it was quite hard to get the fairy wings bit in, and didn’t tell me how he got it. I’m just happy he did. I’ve learned that I’m good at Charms and healing spells. I’ve done a pretty good Patronus and I’m pretty good at Transfiguration too.”

"I’m definitely straight last time I checked. And, I was dating someone a couple years ago but it never worked out and nothing happened between us really although I really liked her and assumed that we would have stuck together. She got bored with me, I guess. Kind of broke my heart since she was the one who made me smile when I was worrying about something or other. I’m single now of course. I am looking for that special someone, though sometimes Gregory gets in the way between me and girls. He’s a jealous little brother. *Laughs*"

"Umm… What I fear is first, right? I fear my father never getting back together with my mother and my brother hating me or getting hurt. I fear nightmares because they are something I can’t control and I don’t like not being in control. I’m usually calm and have control of my surroundings for the most part, even if sometimes, mostly at home, the situation can become a bit unstable. Usually, though, I can figure things out and re-stabilize them quickly. I fear my step mother never letting me see my father or brother again and I’m afraid that my mother will spiral into depression or do something worse if my father doesn’t come back. I also am quite afraid of snakes and anything that slithers.

“What I love is next? I love my family, definitely them – even if my step mother hates me, I even love her. I love ice cream, always have. When I was still dating, I got ice cream all the time with the girl I used to date and I absolutely love Florean Foretescue’s Ice Cream Parlor in Diagon Alley. Ice cream in general is just delicious. I love Quidditch and it’s the first thing I was attracted to when coming to Hogwarts. I could never have been good enough in my first year as Harry Potter was said to be – in fact, I sucked my first year – but I think it is fun and have gotten much better, even though I don’t want to be on a team. As I’ve said, I’m not very confrontational. I love charms class because the charms are fun, I’m good at it and I have friends in the class. Since I’m good at it, people ask me for help a lot and I’m happy to oblige. I love food. I love to sit in the mornings and stuff my face which makes me late – very unlike me.

“The last thing was the things I hate? I hate those who are bullies. They even have them at Hogwarts which was shocking to me. I can’t walk by and let a scuffle continue. But, muggles are right when they say that there are mean people everywhere, as I have learned in History of Magic. I hate Voldemort, although I don’t know if you will count that since he’s dead. It was sickening when we learned of him and I was horrified when I learned of everything Harry Potter and his friends had to go through to finish him. I don’t know if I could’ve ever done something like that. I hate things that I can’t control as I’ve said before and I hate things that don’t make sense. I like details, so I question things stubbornly until I understand it. It frustrates me to not know. Usually, I have this issue in Defense Against the Dark Arts and especially Potions. I hate hexes and jinxes and refuse to use them in any class if any are brought up and dislike it when other people use them. Last thing I hate: the color yellow. Oh, the irony, right?”

"I’m really not sure what to put here. I’m quiet during class but I ramble and talk a lot outside of it. I’ve found favor with many teachers, but obviously not enough to be Head Boy. They like that I ask questions and see bright things for me, but then again, so did all my teachers back home. I guess you could say I’m the magical boy next door, with a couple of issues of my own. I’ll tell you a secret. For all that I care about my family, sometimes I wish I could just stay at Hogwarts where there is no fighting, no problems and just me, my brother, and all of this magic. For all that, I still love a good game of baseball. I’m not sure what I want to do when I’m older. I don’t think I could be an Auror, I’m not good with all of the offensive fighting and I’m horrid at Potions, but I think I might be good enough to be somewhere in the Ministry. I like following politics whether muggle or wizard. Who knows? I may be the next Minister of Magic one day.”

"Well, I’m a muggle-born and my family’s a bit complicated. You see, my mother and father got divorced when I was four years old because my dad decided he needed to support my step-mother who got pregnant with my dad’s child. That would be Gregory – my step-brother. I love him very much and take care of him when I can, but his mother – who we found out is half veela in my fourth year and Gregory’s first year, making him a quarter veela – doesn’t like me much. You see, my mother and father still seem to love each other and I suppose that might make her a bit jealous. She doesn’t like me or my mom and though she treats me horridly, she is a very good mother towards Gregory, so it’s okay. Gregory can be a bit of a liar sometimes, though. He’s into some bad things and pulls dangerous pranks. He’s pushed the blame on me quite a few times, getting me into trouble instead. I guess I should be angry, but I take it. How could I stay angry at my little brother? Mom is miserable without dad. I’ve tried my best all my life so I could impress dad and get him to come back to mom, but it doesn’t seem to be working yet. I’ll keep trying.

When I got accepted for Hogwarts, we were all a bit confused but me, mom and dad figured it out together so I got to go. I told Gregory and made him keep a secret and he listened to me surprisingly. No one told my step-mother. Gregory got the letter when he was eleven so we finally told her, but she was really mad. She kicked me out too. It was really ugly before dad talked her into letting me back in the house. That’s when she told us she was half veela. Surprise! So, step-mother is half veela and half Russian. Dad is American. Mom is Scottish. That makes Greg a quarter veela, a quarter Russian and half American. It makes me half Scottish and half American. Yeah, he’s a bit more exotic. Anyways, this is my last year at Hogwarts and Greg’s fourth. I guess we’re all caught up now.”
