Ravenclaw was known for their intelligence and creativity, his parents couldn't be too dissapointed to hear that, could they?
He had been wrong, once learning of his placement, his parents had sent a dozen angry letters to the school, demanding their only son be put into the "proper house", and when the headmaster refused, they threatened to send him to another school. But as the weeks passed on, Xanthe realized his parents had given up the futile effort to have him transfered to another house, let alone another school. Enrollment had already ended in all the other schools, and Hogwarts was the only one nearest to his home to his knowledge.
He was determined to succeed, to prove to his parents that he didn't need to be in Slytherin to live up to their expectations. So in the following years at Hogwarts, Xanthe got tip-top marks and always took on whatever challenge he could get, passing his OWLS with flying colours, and seeming to sate his parents hunger for his success. He wasn't an insufferable teachers pet, but he did raise his hand quite a bit when it seemed no one else was going to. He always took on extra projects to get bonus points, and even tried out for the Quidditch team, which he found he was no good at. Flying on a broom just wasn't meant for him. It was the one thing he failed at, and it bothered him. But after practicing and practicing he finally gave up, relenting that sports were not his thing.
Although what was his thing, was transfiguration. He took such a fascination for the subject, going above and beyond requirements of study for the class. However unsure of his future, he'd like to become a teacher of the subject one day.
Thus brings us to the present, Xanthe's sixth year at Hogwarts, and his still ready ambition to succeed beyond his parents expectations.
