History:
Mimi was born into a magical family. Her father, Cater Slade, was a famous Auror known for his strength. Mimi’s mother, Kathryn Slade, was a witch who worked part-time part time at the Ministry and part time at St. Mungo’s hospital. They didn’t tell Mimi about this though and let her live a normal live.
Mimi grew up in the town of Little Whinging and even went to muggle school there. Her ability for magic first showed when she was in first grade. One day while playing on the swings Mimi slipped and fell right at the very height of the swing. It looked like she was going to slam into the ground but instead she floated to the ground gently, like a leaf falling from a tree. The kids who saw this were scared of Mimi and started bullying her. It started with verbal abuse and isolation and then escalated to physical abuse. It wasn’t uncommon for kids to throw rocks at Mimi or her to get occasionally beaten up. Kids would also play pranks like putting tacks in her shoes, pulling her skirt or pants down, giving her wedgies, and other physical pranks. Mimi hated it but she endured it so her parents wouldn’t worry about her.
On Mimi’s eleventh birthday an owl arrived at her house and delivered a letter. The letter stated that Mimi had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Mimi didn’t understand what was going on so her parents finally explained everything. There was still half a year left before she would have to leave for Hogwarts. During that time Mimi learned about the wizarding world and magic from her parents.
Six months passed and it was time for Mimi to get her supplies and leave. Mimi went through the supply list and got everything she needed. The last thing on her list was a wand. Excited about getting her first wand Mimi and her parents went to Ollivander’s wand shop. Mimi spent an hour trying out different wands but none chose her. She was starting to feel depressed when she saw a box sitting in the backroom. Mimi asked the store owner about it and while hesitant at first he let her try the wand. It was a unique wand. It contained both a phoenix feather and chimera scale fragment core. It had a red hornbeam wood handle with the rest of the wand being brown Elder wood. The wood was rigid. Mimi tested the wand and found it worked for her. She was ecstatic to have her first wand. The owner warned Mimi about how hard it would be to control the wand. After thanking him profusely Mimi left the shop with a smile on her face. As they walked down the street Mimi’s father stopped for a moment and went inside a store. He emerged a few minutes later with an owl and the necessary supplies to raise it. It was a gorgeous barn owl. Carter handed the owl to Mimi and told her it was a present. She thought long and hard about the name finally deciding on Archimedes. They family quickly made its way to Platform 9 and 3/4s. A couple of hugs and kisses and Mimi was on the train waving goodbye to her parents. A new life lay ahead of her and Mimi couldn’t be happier.
