It was snowing, but not hard; just a light one, not enough to make a difference on the already snowy ground. Usually, Shaylyn wouldn’t be caught outside when it was snowing, or cold, or anything of that nature, but the clouds were trapping in the warmth so it wasn’t really that cold.
The snow crunched under her boots as she walked nowhere in particular. She thought about going to the Forbidden Forest, but she hadn’t been in there before, and she was pretty sure she didn’t want to go in on her own the first time. She wandered around, ending up somewhere near the lake. It was basically frozen but she didn’t want to step on it in case it really wasn’t all the frozen and she fell through. That was all she needed today, to die. That didn’t seem like a whole lot of fun, though she had never tried it before, so how would she really know right. It was then that she spotted a familiar tree. She smiled and made her way towards it. It was a good tree, good for sitting in, or hanging upside down it, which ever seemed right at the time; and this time, it was the hanging part. Shaylyn climbed to a thick branch that was near the bottom of the branches. Sitting down on it, she hooked her legs around it and fell back, letting go with her hands and just holding with her legs.
It was a lovely familiar feeling, one that she hadn’t had in awhile, with hanging out with Tony whenever she could, going to classes, visiting family for the holidays, and her new best friend Adonis, she had little time to herself. This was a rare moment and she enjoyed it all the same, but she was beginning to become bored. It was then that she heard the crunching of someone else’s shoes on the snow from behind her. She was not in much of a position to turn around so she just let them come to her. She would find out who it was then.
