History:
Temperance was born in a small town, Harpenden, just outside of London. She grew up on the outskirts of the town in a two story traditional english home (three bedrooms, two bathrooms etc.) with a large yard surrounded by trees, blocking most of the house from the occasional passerby. There is a small four stall red barn on the property, which houses two quarter horses and a milk cow, as well as a chicken coop full of chickens and a rooster.
Temperance’s first few years flew by, since her mother was a housewife, she never had a babysitter, or had to go to the daycare center the village offered. She was always by her mothers side watching her intently, baking, cleaning, doing laundry and other chores. But whenever her mom went to the barn, Temperance’s whole expression would light up, every aspect of her becoming animated. She loved the horses, even the milk cow for that matter. She loved the smell, the textures, the sounds. She would crawl around the animals, trying to help (but usually hindering) her mom as she milked the cow, or brushed the horses. The chickens on the other hand scared the daylights out of Temperance. They always flocked her, pecking at her feet until she would start to cry and her mother would pick her up out of harms reach.
On her fifth Christmas she got the best gifts, her own Golden Palomino Quarter Horse, which she quickly named Boots (With the help of her parents). After that she was always out in the barn, her parents would joke that she was born on a horse. Even though she was too small to get on by herself properly, she would lead Boots to fences and whatever else she could stand on to try and mount her horse. This didn’t always work and she would come back to the house dirty from head to toe from multiple falls. This continued until she became a fairly good rider, her and Boots would go on long rides through the countryside. Her other gift was information, she was sat down and told about Hogwarts, a school she would be attending, because she was a witch. This news elated Temperance. She had occasionally seen her parents do magic, but never really understood the how's and why's of it. For the most part they did manual labor, choosing not to do magic. Her mother explained that she liked most of the work she did out on their little piece of heaven. That rarely she would use magic to do tasks that helped shorten her day. She explained that in her family growing up magic was used to do everything, and once she learned how to manually do most of these tasks she loved them.
When she was seven, her parents sat her down to tell her some important family news. She was soon to be an older sister. After years of trying to have a child, and years of miscarriages, they were finally 4 months pregnant. The excitement she felt was soon pushed away by a weird feeling of uncertainty, of anxiety. Replaying her parents conversation in her head she came to the conclusion that they were also hiding something from her. One day, while her father was at work, she innocently asked her mother if she could see her birth records. When her mother asked why, she told her that the new baby would have birth records and she wanted to know what they looked like. The expression on her mothers face said more then her words could ever say, and she replied that she didn’t know, they were somewhere lost in the house. The next time Temperance was alone in the house, her mother out doing chores, she started to search. A few weeks later she uncovered a box of papers and knick knacks with her name on it from the attic. Reading through it she came to the conclusion that Kiera-Leigh Watson was not her mother. Her biological mother was Sarah Taylor. This new information sent Temperance reeling. Kiera-Leigh wasn’t her mother, this statement she couldn’t deal with. She became withdrawn and rebellious, not helping with chores, staying out past dark with her horse and talking back. Finally her father sat her down and asked what was wrong. Upon telling him tears filled his eyes as he finally understood. He told her how Sarah had died giving birth to her, and how he had been a single dad for over a year when he met Kiera-Leigh, and how she made both of them so happy. She was a pureblood as well. Then he told her that Kiera-Leigh had signed the adoption papers so she was her mother, and a very good mother at that. Once the new baby came, Temperance frustrations slowly were left in the past and her new little sister Ava became her pride. She loved to look after and help with her sister.
Upon receiving her acceptance letter to Hogwarts Temperance was thrilled. Her first year she was sorted into Gryffindor, which made her happy since it was her biological mothers house. During the year she discovered her talents with Potions, her lack of talent for Transfiguration, and her utter hatred for flying. She made many friends and acquaintances and even earned a few points for her house. Her next three years passed in the same manor, she excelled in Potions, was always receiving extra help in Transfiguration and although she was a team player and went to every Quidditch match cheering for her team, she refused to get on a broom.
Personality: Temperance has a outgoing personality with those she knows, but to someone off the street she is very withdrawn and almost shy. She loves to be outside and in her free time, she is as much as she can. You usually find her with a camera trying to catch unique and beautiful moments or if not with a camera a good book sitting outside in the courtyard. She is always up for trying new things before she judges them, whether adventure or food etc. But once she decides she doesn’t like something it is very hard to change her mind. She is very opinionated, and sometimes speaks her mind without thinking which upsets people on occasion.
