Character
~EVANGLINE ODETTE ROSIER~
Name: Evangeline Odette Rosier
“Evangeline means ‘Messenger of good news’ I don’t know what good news I’ve been giving out recently. Most of my family has been in Ravenclaw, including my older sisters, and they aren’t very pleased with me for getting into Gryffindor. Well that was a bit off topic, back to my name. Evangeline isn’t a family name which was surprising due to the fact that most of my relatives have family names. Perhaps my mother knew she was getting some strange child at my birth.
Odette however is a name my mother grew very fond of, due simply to its mean ‘wealth’ she assumed that if she named me something meaning wealth, the thing itself would come to her. We aren’t poor by any means but mum was always reaching higher.
Rosier, my last name is fairly well known. Not anywhere near the Black’s, heavens no! However our bloodlines do run together here and there, that seems to happen a lot with pure bloods like myself. I’m pretty sure I have a lot of Death Eaters in my family, but I suppose I shouldn’t even say anything about that now should I?”
Alias: Eva, or Evie or Eva-lee or Littlest-love
“My nick names are abundant but lucky for me they aren’t all that awful.”
Sex: Female
“Decidedly”
Age: Sixteen
“You do realize it’s quite rude to ask a woman her age, don’t you? Oh well I shall forgive you.”
Height: 5’ 0”
“If I could but be taller! You know that bottle on the shelf? Yeah the one you’re looking at now. The one at your eye level. Yeah I cannot reach it, would you be a darling love and pass it to me please? I am that short. However it only hinders me…most days and I’m hoping that today is not most days.”
Weight: One hundred and six pounds respectively.
“I shall not even begin to address the rudeness of this question!”
Eye color: Light blue
“My mother used to tell me I had ‘mirror eyes’ and that if she looked into them she would be able to see the future. It was rather distressing more than anything else. My eyes do have color! I can see it when I look into a real mirror. They are the faintest of blues and I haven’t had any trouble with them to my luck.”
Hair color: Blonde, about to her mid back, slightly wavy when it’s natural.
“More like slightly wavy when it’s misbehaving. Goodness my hair does like to try me! Just the hint of rain and it curls. I suppose I’ve always wanted straight hair to be like my sister, the grass is always greener and all that. Its blonde which I like fairly well, I’ve gone thus far in my life without hearing any ridiculous blonde jokes so all is well on that front. Goodness now I’m going on about it what if my sister could hear me!”
Race: Magical, Pure Blood
“Mother always said to include the Pure Blood in things. Like I could ever forget with my family name hanging over me at all times. It’s really a rather interesting thing that birth can make you better than others. Though I suppose that’s how it’s always been. If my sister and mother heard me discussing such things! I’m barely invited to the table as it is! Gryffindor! That beautiful hat might as well have told them I was secretly muggle born! Such a complicated life we live.”
Profession: Student
“I am in my sixth year at Hogwarts and I seriously can barely believe I’ve managed to make it thus far without visiting the Hospital Wing. There now I’ve gone and jinxed it. It was lovely knowing you all.”
Markings: Semi-circle scar on her right rib cage.
“A gift from my idiot eldest sister, a spell gone wrong and if I had realized she was that vexed, I never would have made that face at her. You know that face that says “Is that all you’ve got?” Yeah I was really rather stupid making that face at her. She hadn’t exactly gotten her spells down correctly (If I were to be honest I’d say she was far better with books than spells) and I suppose I was being a bit of a pest. Oh well you live you learn and I have the scars to prove it.”
History:
I was born in Cologny, Switzerland at our summer estate Chateau El Masr. It was a rather decent summer weather wise and my mother wasn’t expecting me for a few more weeks, but I of course had other plans. In the room with walls of pale blue silk, I was born 5 pounds 11 ounces, 15 inches long on the fifteen of September.
[I am told the fifteen of September means this for me: “You take life as it is, and you find happiness in a variety of things.
You tend to be close to family and friends. But it's hard to get into your inner circle.
Making the little things wonderful is important to you, and you probably have an inviting home.
You seek harmony with others, but occasionally you have a very stubborn streak.
Your strength: Your intense optimism
your weakness: You shy away from exploring your talents
your power color: Jade
your power symbol: Flower
your power month: June”
I suppose most of it is actually true which I find a bit strange really.]
My four elder sisters were not at all pleased about my birth. They had plans to go into Geneva that day and didn’t really feel like coming to meet me. Father of course insisted and my eldest sister nearly dropped me due to her vexation toward me.
[Yes, four elder sister’s with me being the ‘baby’ my eldest sister is six years my elder! She is twenty-two years old. The sister closest to me in age is still a few years older, she’s eighteen years old. ]
It didn’t stay this way for long however, once I grew into myself a little bit and my sister’s realized I hadn’t meant to ruin their trip, they grew quite fond of me. Being the youngest had its ups and downs but it was a fairly alright experience for me.
[I remember one of the downs, my sister’s used to dress me up like a little doll and my mother thought it to be the cutest thing. Of course they grew tired of this as they got older but continue to try to ‘fix’ my outfits even to this day.”
When it was time for me to get my wand at the respectable age of eleven like most, all of my sister’s came with me and they all put aside their differences to be there for me on that day. It is one of my fondest memories. Even my eldest sister picked me up and twirled me around when I finally found my wand.
[My wand is gorgeous, or perhaps I’m just a little bias. It’s Elmwood, 12 3/4'” long, unyielding, unicorn hair and I cherish it dearly.]
Then it was my turn at Hogwarts, I remember my mother making sure my robes were absolutely perfect before I left on the train. They all knew I was going to be in Ravenclaw, no other thought was in their heads so when the sorting hat told me Gryffindor, I was shocked. I remember having a difficult time standing, despite the cheers from my new house. My sister’s were furious. The look on their faces, it was horrifying to walk to the Gryffindor table with their eyes burning me. However I found myself to really enjoy Gryffindor. I’d never tell my family this of course, but the hat did know what it was doing. I’ve come into myself and made some fantastic friends. If only I could tell my family this news, at least my closest sister. However I would utterly shame them, my beautiful pure-blood family.
Things are very on edge with us, and I only ever really feel wanted with my friends at school.
