Patronus: None. They didn’t have dementors where he was from, so he never had reason to learn it. (OOC: I plan to have him learn it as one of his first plots. :-P)
Animagus: None either. He hates Transfiguration. :-P
Mirror of Erised: To be loved and to loved.
Detailed Personality: Since he was a kid, Nikolai had always wanted to live independently as soon as he was confident he could. Growing up with two brothers, an overbearing mother and a strict father, he longed for the freedom of fixing your own mistakes and not having to live for anyone out of obligation. Because of this family setting though, he grew up having little self-esteem, and an intensified need for friends (people he chose to care for). He would sometimes place academics below extra-curriculars and his friends (though he had enough natural intelligence and intuition to pass either way), and in this way he knew not to be so grade conscious but to learn.
Because he saw through others easier than most people, he tended to be broken down and disillusioned more easily than most. In a bipolar twist, this was why he was so distrusting of others (despite his willingness to help them), and preferred his own company sometimes. He was manipulative too at times, when it suited him, but more often than not, it was other people affecting him. A good side effect of this intuition is that he can dissect illnesses and damage to be able to fix and cure the damage done to a person in the most efficient way possible, rather than general healing. He is advanced in his years in that aspect, and resourceful too.

History:
-He was bourne (of all places, for a Romanian mother and an Italian father) in an obscure city of Singapore. There, he learned and grew from the four main cultures of that country (indian, english, indonesian/malay, and chinese), and their respective wizarding nations.
-From an early age, he had already set his sights on the English culture and going to live there once he had the means to do so. His parents however, expected him to just stay in Singapore and help with managing the peace with the four nations, as they have done as diplomats.
-In one of the handful of integrated-culture schools, he had many friends from the different cultures, each claiming superiority in one aspect or the other over the other three. From there, Niko learned to be careful with his words, depending on the people he was with, and developed masks to compensate for each one, aiming to please. Inwardly though, he felt distraught at not being able to always express himself, and it came out in his inability to change objects' natures in Transfiguration, preferring instead to augment them through Charms and other means.
-By European standards, he started school late, with wizarding school starting at the age of 14, all the way up to 22. In those 8 years, he discovered he had a knack for divining, first starting out with palmistry and tea leaves, then figuring out all the nuances of western practices (i.e. tarot, cyrstal balls, etc.). Though he wanted to pursure this, as it was once of the few things he found interest in, his practical parents were very against it, and said that even if he did want to go abroad, divination wouldn't help him earn to do so. And so he stuck with his studies, going into people-related subjects like the Healing Arts and Potions.
-As luck would have it, his professor took note of his talent in potions and his meticulousness in the preparation of ingredients and process, and recommended his application to several institutes in Europe, to see if a future might be held for him there. Although many replied, Niko only had his sights on one reply: Hogwarts, the only school out of the replies. Niko wanted badly to at least see the institute and structure of learning that was available there, as opposed to the hodge podge mix he received from the integrated school.
-Against his parents' mirth and reservations, he left for London. While there, he had his first experience ever of a dementor's effects at the transportation office, where one was being shipped off the area having snuck in through one of the fireplaces leading to the detainment units. Amazed and afraid at how much he had to learn in this new country, he hurried off to the Leaky Cauldron, where he was staying before the new year started.
(OOC: Sorry for not doing it per year. I'm not sure I'm ready yet to invent a whole new institute just for this. :-P) [/ul]
Roleplay Sample: (OOC: Actually, I was part of this site a loooong-ish time ago (my charrie then was Marcia Magnus, Charms Sub and Robe shop owner), but I think the site was still a bit fresh then and the lack of laptop and other factors (family drama), made me resign by not responding to one activity check. I'm back now, and I really look forward to rejoining the fray of this great site! )
"Go on, choose a card. Don't forget, this is a guide more than anything. Predicting things based on the present and spouting prophecies are two very different things, my child. Still no?
That's alright, I don't need cards or palmistry to see through you. I know who you are and what you show yourself to be. This wound on the other hand, isn't as easy to decipher if I don't know the curse that caused it.
Let's see, it seems like your fingernails have fallen off, and your hand's ballooned to the size of a football. I suspect a combination of curses actually.
But let's start with this: reducio.
Oh, the nerves are back near the flesh.
It's starting to hurt?
Hold on, just a bit longer.
Engorgio.
Nails are just dead cells after all, it's easy to replicate.
Just finish up with this flobberworm pus balm for the ouchies and then we're through.
I know it smells, I know.
There we go.
Oh, and one more thing: the answer is no. You won't get an O in DADA. Sorry."
