Before Riley went to Hogwarts he was raised in the magical world just like any other pureblood wizard did. He grew up in North America but his family moved to Britain when he was 10 years of age due to his father having a affair.. When he turned 11 Riley attended school at Hogwarts.

During school Riley bullied others because he was being bullied by others. So, he chose to pick on students his age. He wasn't the best student and got detentions often He never became apart of the students who thought they were like death eaters though he had a lot of friends who were in this wanna-be death eater group. In his 5th year he watched his best friend be tortured and killed by 3 other students. Riley was the one to tell the headmaster about what happened therefore not being expelled but suspended, for the headmaster wasn't sure if he was apart of the act of violence so he punished them all. As far as criminal charges, Riley was able to plead not guilty. When Riley returned he focused on changing his life around. He focused on his studies and stopped bulling others. He realized that losing his best friend killed the bad inside of him, for his friend was the most caring person he had known and had shown him that he didn't want to be like the students who had killed his best friend.

After he went to Hogwarts, Riley took am advanced course at a muggle college for secondary education (which is a teaching degree). He wanted to teach but he needed a break from the wizarding world Riley worked at a muggle school for 4 and a half years. He decided that there was something missing and decided to apply finally, at Hogwarts. He had learned that teaching was important to students life's and if he had paid attention ins school then his best friend might not have been in a bad situation which lead to his death. He came back to Hogwarts to not only redeem himself but also teach students how to deal with struggles no matter what they where.

Because all the college classes I've been party to have been exclusively muggle related, and I couldn't pick a single one that would grant someone who has, as far as any muggle government would recognize, absolutely no schooling whatsoever full rights to become a teacher.

Not quite sure what you mean by this but if you are going to college then you would know that in order to get a teaching degree you need to graduate with secondary education and the of the subject you are wanting to teach. And even if you are a high school drop out you can STILL take college courses. So this statement is wrong.

What I mean by this is, plainly, what I said.
Riley has, as far as muggles are concerned, literally no education at all. Further he has no means of income or likely even a home, since he's been living in pureblood communities for all his life.
What sort of college would let him in, pray tell, when he appears to be a vagrant at best and a raving escapee from the nearest asylum at worst?
Furthermore what sort of Goddamn subject does he teach at this "muggle school"?

I might know that if I was going to college to become a teacher, but I am not. I know this by virtue of having spoken with teachers.

In Matt's defense, all I see are valid points. All he asked was for you to further explain how and why certain things come about, and I would have brought up the same points, probably with the same attitude.

The point is, characters do get accepted, and we are extremely sorry if we want literate writing, and a story that doesn't look like it's come from a fucking R. L. Stine knockoff horror story. This is the same type of criticism any writer can face in the "real" world, and I'm sorry, this isn't Pokemon, Twilight, or anything other genre-ending clod that you could get by with things such as "They moved here for no reason."

All he asked for was an explanation. He reviewed my apps the same way, if you would go look at them. I;ll even provide the names of the characters. And look. All of mine got accepted. Imagine the possibilities.

I'm going to have to warn, if this continues being a personal attack against my Profile Acceptor, I will have to take action. Your religion has no bearing here, just like if we were your employers, and honestly, the point of posting an application is to see if you are, as an employer would say, up to our standards and would be good for this site. I can honestly say, since technically, you aren't even "hired" by us yet, you are showing poor "worksmanship" and we probably should drop you just because you've become combative over it.

The point of the application is to make your character fit in this universe, no more, no less. We don't expect downright perfection, we expect to be able to read the profile, the story of your character's life, and see everything that molded said character up to the very point you post your first thread with them in it.

Why did Riley's father cheat?

Why did Riley's mother move them to England, all the way across the world? Do they have family? Did she know someone there? Why?

So, the Headmaster, despite being told by Riley, just... punished all of them? Why? Why would the Headmaster be so abysmal to do so?

Give the dead student a name. Names help. It gives identity and meaning to the situation.

It's like Browsing history on a computer. The Ministry would have taken the wand and seen "Hey, this kid didn't even use an offensive, let alone illegal spell. Let him go."

The Ministry isn't incompetent. I'm sorry, but Riley would have had to try to retaliate with some sort of illegal curse or something that would have made him face the Wizard Courts.

How did they kill him anyways? How does this all connect?

What courses did Riley take at the Muggle College? How did he get into the college without any credentials? What did he teach? How did no one think he was a nutty old fool? As you can see in the books, Pureblood Wizards raised in the Wizarding World are abysmally oblivious to Muggle habits, philosophy, and other fine points that would be needed to live amongst them.

I mean, all Wizards have are a freaking MUGGLE STUDIES CLASS.

I'm 23 years old, IRL. If I could sum up my entire life, problems, moving about, etc, in two paragraphs, then I'm in trouble. You have so many more years to work with. Even if it's just a quirky event, how he met his best friend, if he spoke at his friend's funeral, getting over the death (if he did).
