Description: Adam isn’t the tallest of guys, but what he lacks in height he makes up for with his charming smile. Always clean shaven, Adam presents himself as the typical image of a young, rich, sophisticated man, wearing tailor made suits and robes, style and fashion oozing out of his ears. He’s dark, curly hair is the only thing he finds to be a flaw in his appearance as not even spells can keep it under control for long. Adam has also built up an impressive body from his years of exploring the world and exercising, his biceps and six-pack being the cause of several heart flutters of the girls he went to school with and the girls he teaches at Hogwarts.

Personality

Adam considers himself to be a generally nice guy and a good teacher. Unlike most of children of rich magical families, Adam tried his best to not to come across as a typical snob while he was at school and to make friends with as many people as he could. As a teacher he tries to bring his wordly experiences to the classroom and venture away from the curriculum of Hogwarts if he feels it will broaden the horizons and assist his students in their education. In many ways he still considers himself ‘one of the kids’ and is lenient with punishments, some of the other teachers finding his habit of befriending the older students slightly inappropriate but knowing it is entirely innocent. Adam is open about his sexuality but doesn’t shout it from the top of the Owlery, having an annoying habit of falling into crushes quite easily. Unfortunately, that sometimes happens with the older students as well, but Adam will always be sure to stop himself from doing anything to jeopardise his position as a teacher.

History

-Before Hogwarts
Adam was born into the powerful Amell family, a rich pureblood family who were originally from Germany, his father having moved here several years before he was born. The Amells in England are a small, four person family, whereas their cousins over in Germany are still the powerful magical dynasty they have been for one hundred years. Still, Adam’s father had access to the family coffers and managed to get himself a high positioned job at the Ministry of Magic and his mother started a small wizarding fashion business, something she did as a hobby more than a job, but the business soon grew and became the main competition for Madam Malkin’s on Diagon Alley. When he was eleven, Adam received the fabled letter from Hogwarts and received the best possible tools, books and robes that money could buy from his family in preparation for the beginning of his magical education.

-First Year
Adam’s first year at Hogwarts resulted in his being Sorted into Ravenclaw and find his affinity for Transfiguration and Charms. Although Ravenclaws have a reputation for preferring to strike up friendships with their books than members of other houses, Adam quickly gained a reputation as a ‘cool’ Ravenclaw, quickly building inter-house friendships and earning the position of ‘Golden Boy’ in the eyes of most of his teachers. Although first years can’t join Quidditch teams, Adam was a regular site polishing the brooms of the Ravenclaw team and assisting them during practice, doing everything he could to ensure himself a place on the team next year when he would be eligible to try out.

-Second Year
Adam’s second year started with a happy surprise for him. The Ravenclaw Quidditch team had invited him to their start-of-the-year tryouts. He easily earned himself the position of Keeper, his preferred position on the field. He showed excellent promise on his broom while also keeping at the top of his class in his preferred studies. His chosen elective was Study of Ancient Runes, a class which fascinated him, compelling him to study even harder. He believed this class would help him in his ambition to travel the world to see and study all of the magical wonders of the world. His second year also saw Adam get his first girlfriend, a pretty Gryffindor called Rosie, also in her second year. The two were more like friends than boyfriend and girlfriend, spending their time studying together and occasionally holding hands or having a chaste peck on the lips. The relationship ended amicably over the summer when Adam begun to discover his confusing feelings for men and lack of attraction towards girls.

-Third Year
Adam’s third year was one of the confusion and peril that comes with beginning to grow up. His younger sister, Quinn, begun her first year and was sorted into Hufflepuff, which caused quite a bit of ridicule for Adam from his fellow Ravenclaws. One boy, Jack Lynch, pushed Adam too far one day in front of Quinn and for the first time Adam turned his wand on someone. His eyes saw nothing but red and before he knew it his wand was raised and a jet of yellow light was launched from the end of it. Adam still can’t remember what incantation he had used for the spell, but it had lifted Lynch off of the ground and sent him hurtling across the Great Hall until he crashed into the teachers table. Adam was, of course, put in detention for a month and removed from the Quidditch team. During his time off the team Adam started to exercise more, building up his strength and his body so he had something to do to fill the gaps in his week. It was during this year that Adam found his attraction towards men, specifically a fifth year boy in his house he saw coming out of the shower once, and after a few weeks of confusion, slowly started to accept who he was. He also was forced to take on a second elective, but due to lack of interest in the remaining subjects, Adam took Divination simply for its reputation as the perfect class to take a nap in.

-Fourth Year
Adam’s fourth year wasn’t incredibly remarkable. He earned his place back on the Quidditch team after their ridiculous losses with their new Keeper and, due to his sudden change in appearance over the summer, his pubescent muscles beginning to form and a more defined jawline, got even more attention from girls and quite a few boys. Specifically, Adam caught the eye of the boy he had a crush on the year before, Jamie Ollerton, a sixth year openly gay (incredibly sexy) Ravenclaw and the Seeker of the Quidditch team. The two begun a relationship after Adam clumsily kissed him in the locker room and, a few months later, Adam went on to lose his virginity to Jamie. Adam’s father’s colleagues at the Ministry begun to take an interest in his development as a wizard, making several remarks to his father about wanting to keep an eye on him for possible recruitment into ministerial work.

-Fifth Year
Over the summer before his fifth year Adam changed from a boy to a man and that went down just brilliantly for him. He was more or less immediately granted his Prefect badge and the teachers all had high expectations for him. It was also the year that his relationship with Jamie ended, both of them becoming too stressed with exams, and Adam discovered the wonderful world of sexual deviancy, leaping into bed with anyone and everyone who gave him a wink (on the condition they had the correct equipment beneath the waistline). His O.W.L.S. went well, earning top marks in both Transfiguration and Charms, very good marks in Defence Against the Dark Arts and Study of Ancient Runes and managing to scrape through everything other than Astronomy and Divination, two subjects he had desperately tried to failure just to escape the tediously boring curriculum. This was also the first year during his time on the Quidditch team that Ravenclaw won the inter-house competition. He also begun early studying on what form he wanted to take as an Animagus, a magic he had been enraptured by since before he could remember, and turned his study towards avian creatures.

-Sixth Year
Adam found his Animagus studying to be incredibly difficult, but after six months of hard work, study and sheer force of will he was finally able to take on the shape of a tawny owl. He found a wonderful sense of freedom in flying with the post owls and other successful avian-Animagi, much preferring to fly in this form than on his broom, however tiring it may have been. Adam had several boyfriends over the course of the year but nothing serious, the young wizard not understanding why they got frustrated at him for preferring to spend time in the shape of an owl than a human or their inability to keep up with his sometimes insatiable sexual appetite. It was during this year when Adam met with a career advisor from the Ministry that he made his mind up about were his career was going. He would focus on his Transfiguration skills and one day return to Hogwarts to take the post of Transfiguration teacher, commenting to the advisor how ‘Professor Amell’ had a ‘nice ring to it’.

-Seventh Year
Adam had an amazing seventh year, despite being turned down for the position of Head Boy. He passed all the required N.E.W.T.S. for a teacher of Transfiguration with flying colours and even found himself another sweetheart, a sixth year Gryffindor boy called Robert who had been an enchanting young man and had given Adam some happy memories of his final year of school before ending the relationship when he graduated. The young teacher-to-be ended his time in school with style. Instead of running out of the front doors with everyone he leapt from the Ravenclaw tower, morphing into his owl shape mid-fall and flying over the heads of his fellow students, promptly dropped a bird turd on the head of his long time enemy James Lynch.

-After School (if already done with school)
As soon as he left school Adam flew home, collected his belongings and enough money to get by on, mounted his broom and flew off over the ocean. He spent a year lazily floating around Europe and seeing the sights. He continued to fly east and spent a year in India, joining a monastery and studying the art of summoning and binding spirits before finally returning to Britain and Hogwarts. However, a few days before his job began, his faithful old wand, a fine tool that had been passed down his family for three generations, finally snapped under the strain of trying to levitate a four poster bed and throw it through a window (an admittedly drunken misjudgement). He quickly procured a newer, younger wand from Ollivander before returning to Hogwarts. Two years later we find Adam returning for his third year as Professor Amell, Transfiguration teacher.

Charlie was playing Angry Birds on his phone in the choir room while the others where gargling on and on about sectionals and what they wanted to use in their set list. Now that Vocal Adrenaline had Rachel they were all running scared due to the vacuum left in the place of a lead female vocalist.

Personally the cheerleader didn’t understand why they were worried. Unless there was an unusual draw in the balloting for regionals, they would only meet the Carmel team at the national competition, meaning they wouldn’t have to worry about Rachel’s admittedly impressive vocals. Besides, they had plenty of hot bitches in this club who were more than capable of rocking any song they wanted to such as Santana and Mercedes.

‘Now there’s an idea that would win sectionals for us’. Charlie thought to himself. That was when he heard someone mention RENT. He wasn’t sure who it was that said it but that didn’t matter, RENT was a key word that brought out a musical performance in him and Mr. Schue wasn’t here yet, so he wouldn’t face any of the bigotry that Kurt had once faced when he tried to break a gender stereotype.

Standing up from his seat, Charlie walked to the front of the room.

“Fellow gleeks” he said, addressing the others. “I’d like to take this opportunity to address your incessant ramblings about our upcoming sectionals competition.” He noticed Santana snickering at the back, despite a few faces looking offended.
“I heard someone mention doing a song from RENT and I think I have the perfect song that will also help us decide how to address the current lack of a spotlight hogging female lead. That being said, allow me to demonstrate how we do RENT. Hit it!” the band begun to a play a rock beat that had that infectious ability of certain songs to make people dance as Charlie pulled a chair forward, turned it around and sat on it backwards, straddling his legs over it and resting his elbows on the back as he held up his chin with one hand and pouted.
“What's the time?
Well it's gotta be close to midnight
My body's talking to me
It says,'Time for danger'” Charlie sang, seductively winking at the club as he stood up, kicking the chair away and twitching his fingers at the girls , signalling for them to come up and dance with him.

“It says
'I wanna commit a crime
Wanna be the cause of a fight
Wanna put on a tight shirt
And flirt with a stranger'” Charlie continued to dance and sing around the girls, taking Mercedes’ hand and letting her spin him. He sang the rest of the song in his sweet, sultry voice, dancing suggestively with each of the girls as he continued towards the end of the song.

“When I get a wink from the doorman
Do you know how lucky you'll be?
That you're on line
With the feline of Avenue B
Let's go out tonight
I have to go out tonight
You wanna prowl
Be my night owl?
Well take my hand we're gonna howl
Out tonight” the music slowed down now as the song entered it’s final verse, Charlie now stood in the centre of the room gently holding a mic stand that Mercedes had dragged out for him during the dance. The girls were now stood behind him harmonizing as he sang.

“In the evening I must roam
Can't sleep in the city of neon and chrome
Feels too damn much like home
When the spanish babies cry” the girls moved forward as Charlie unhooked the microphone, kicking the stand over and begun to belt the song.

“So let's find a bar
So dark we forget who we are
And all the scars from the
Nevers and maybes die” he couldn’t help his arrogant smirk as he watched the others watch him hold the note impeccably.

“Let's go out tonight
Have to go out tonight
You're sweet
Wanna hit the street?
Wanna wail at the moon
Like a cat in heat?

Tonight - tonight – tonight” he winked at the others as he put the microphone back on its stand after picking up. “And that, my friends” he said into the mic “is how you perform a RENT song.”
