Description: Avery walks with a gait of superiority. His attire is plain yet distinguished. A perfect adjective to explain his appearance is immaculate. His psychological state is mostly read from his eyes, as his face rarely displays much emotion. Standing at a height of 6 ft. Avery towers over most in his year. His physique is thin, yet lean and muscular. He is of average complexion, though if not for his hobby of swimming out in the lake he would be slightly pale.
Personality
Avery has an intricate personality and most of it stems from the unique upbringing that he grew up with. Born into a wealthy pureblood elitist family, certain expectations were imposed upon him. Firstly, Avery does not tolerate Muggleborns nor the poor. He can appear closed off to most; lost within the orifices of his own mind. Avery is a thinker, and an intellectual. He is typically found immersed in the pages of a large book, or off alone, doing whatever strikes his fancy. To some, he can appear uncommonly proper, and he is definitely accustomed to the life of an aristocrat.
His demeanor is closed, and reserved. Rarely does he ever open up to anyone. Nonetheless, when he is adamant about something he will speak up in a loud, commanding voice oftentimes with certain coldness to it. Avery is quick to become offended, and difficult to impress. Throughout his years at Hogwarts he has kept a tight knit group of companions but for the most part kept to himself. The boy also has a hunger for knowledge, of all types. This, as he grows older will lead him towards darker varieties of magic.
History
Must have a paragraph for: (all years your charries has attended must be filled out.
-Before Hogwarts
Avery was born into the Ward family, a formidable pureblooded family known for its charismatic politicians, and rich history. Avery was of course, privately schooled in the Ward manor by highly skilled professors. However, this was not schooling in magic, but more in culture. He learned eloquent penmanship, submerged himself in literature, and acquainted himself with all the basics of a solid education. His parents would place constant pressure on him, because he was their only child and would be carrying on the family name. Avery became confident, proud and a little arrogant.
-First Year
His first year at Hogwarts went by normally in the beginning. He was sorted into Ravenclaw, after much debate on behalf of the sorting hat. Fortunately, his housemates appeared intelligent enough and he was somewhat glad at where he ended up. Tragedy struck a month into the term. He received an owl from a distant relative informing him that his parents were just busted for several crimes involving harboring of illegal dark artifacts, perjury and corruption. They were both sent to Azkaban and sentenced to ten years. This sent Avery over the edge, and he became closed off, avoiding most social interactions. If anyone were to discover the fate of his once highly esteemed family he would be mortified.
-Second Year
Avery remained with his uncle who had now taken up residence in his manor. Little had changed, save for Avery. He now felt a desire in himself to live up to his families expectations. He felt that the charges were complete rubbish and trumped up by jealous mudbloods. The name ‘Ward’ had been thrown into the mud and he simply wouldn’t have it. He went to Hogwarts his second year in an even more sour mood. Avery ended up in a couple of fights, having rubbed a couple students the wrong way. Of course, he lost several but in the end he became a more experienced duelist.
-Third Year
In his third year Avery did the unexpected: he joined the Ravenclaw Quidditch team as a Beater. This was uncharacteristic of him as he generally avoided such spectacles. However, the boy performed quite well and led his house to its first victory in many years. Avery grew stronger, and developed a beaters build with a powerful upper body. It was this year that he started to open up to a select few and find himself some allies.
-Fourth Year
Avery again, changed in his fourth year. While still the cold, unapproachable boy that he was he was starting in on dating. The girls he chose were typically intelligent, and contrasted his serious personality with one more bubbly. Another thing to note is that he started to make frequent trips into the Forbidden Forest. Inside, he would explore the area, and practice spells in privacy. Avery became even more secretive, and studied harder than ever before.
-Fifth Year
Avery continued to succeed on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, but despite his ‘popularity’ for being on the team, he was still very much alone. He wandered the corridors countless times in solitude, pondering why he was so different. Whether than try to honor the family name he began to question it. Why was he living his life purely to make the name ‘Ward’ more prestigious? Avery’s thoughts began to turn more self-centered. He broke up with his current girlfriend, and currently remains single. Avery is now more decent company, though still very condescending towards others in how he carries himself.
-Sixth Year
Current year, to be continued as I roleplay.
Role Play Example
(I usually write more, but this is just a sample, right?) Avery shrugged his shoulders, his ebony robes coiling into a shapely mess upon the floor of his dormitory. He ran his hand across the frame of his four poster bed, glancing down at the dust that now covered his hand. With a sigh, he allowed himself to lie on his back, staring up at the vacant ceiling. Soon, the other boys would be arriving, likely chattering disruptively on whether or not Professor whatshisface had assigned any homework. It was pathetic really, as they all well knew an assignment was assigned but were far too lackluster to engage in conversation by any other means. He allowed a cold smirk to form across his face. ’And what if they were to attempt to speak with me?’ he asked himself almost sarcastically while running a hand through his hair with a sigh.
Yes, every month or so the boys in his dormitory would try to communicate with him. Occasionally he would toss them a bone but they were simpletons. Unfortunately, he was sent to a dormitory filled with mudbloods, and others that might as well be Muggles. This is not to say he didn’t get along with anyone in his house. On the contrary, most of his company did originate from his own house. Yet it was this particular bunch that was just unworthy of any attention. The door to his dormitory clicked open, and in rushed three other boys discussing with rapt intrigue over the recent History of Magic lesson detailing a controversy concerning the Goblin Rebellions. “Let’s just ask Avery’s opinion…” He heard one of the boys announce.
Avery closed his eyes slightly, murmuring to himself in dread “…and so it begins.” Keeping his eyes low he feigned business, and awaited the inevitability of having to entertain these boys’ incessant and useless questions.
