Turn of events had left Adam sitting alone along the courtyard sidewalk wondering how everything had come down to this. It was their last year here at Hogwarts and it all seemed like it was yesterday when he was only 11 and taking his first trip across the lake. The bright candles glaring across the dark night and the enchanting feeling alone that this place inspired within us. Now we all enter the school in a depressed way like we are just waiting for summer already to come passing by, but when it's your last year there is just a different feeling about it.
Adam had felt that he had wasted more opportunities that he had taken. Alyssa was the best thing that had ever happened to him and was one of the only things he looked forward to each day. And his Father missing was starting to eat at him in ways he had never felt before. The fact that he just knew he was dead and knowing that he was probably right about it actually stroked a nerve he didn't even know he had for his Father.
Students were passing by one by one with smiles upon their faces, apparently some were actually happy about the day. But he couldn't help but still feel as if something were just missing. Maybe he just needed to lighten up a little. He sighed heavily in hopes something would turn his day around but until he saw Alyssa he was sure that wasn't coming to happen. He wasn't sure where off she was or if she had even made it to the school yet. The summer had been quite busy for the two of them and either of them had seen the other too often.
He peered across the way watching for anyone that he knew. Then shaking his head and remembered he wasn't exactly a person that knew a whole lot of people other than acquaintances. His once best friend had long talked to him in years. And only people he really knew where the sluts throughout the school he had already banged and move along from. For before he met Alyssa, he could be considered much the man whore. And don't think for a second that he didn't still look or flirt occasionally, he was a typical male after all.
Maybe that was it, maybe the sense of almost leaving school was setting in and he had yet to meet actual friends. To have a real social life interacting with others like his girlfriend did. Those were the only people he really knew anymore were her friends. Yet another reason why he never cared for actual relationships. He shook his head at the thought and tried to think positive. He loved Alyssa yet he felt like something was still wrong. It wasn't that he was the nicest person to have a flowing amount of friends as it was, but Alyssa changed things in him that made him feel the need for friends. And that in itself was making him feel almost sick. He wasn't a people person or one to want friends so why was he feeling so lonely?
